I did a couple of assignments in India, well seperated locales. They were similar though in the fact both were shitholes. India is an effort, and you would need a good vacation schedule... Aye up, where there is shit there is money. (people are Ok though)

Yes Bangkok Taxis are somewhat removed from a London Cabbie... Had one guy try to take a short cut, so that I was lost, of course he was too, and he was heading in the wrong direction with no opportunity to turn around. Me and the GF complained and he stopped the cab and told us to get out! I told him no I would not and get us back to the starting point.... I had the TGF on the phone to the number shown on the picture inside. I sometimes wonder if they do it just to make more money.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.My transit there went fine and if the airline schedules it, they aim to do it. You perhaps are confusing these ME airports with shamblistic Heathrow whose staff strike every few days.

Agreed, the map only really served to confuse me... and I used to live down Soi SCC. It was when I noticed the driving range that I realised we were talking much further down than around the railway line rd where I first thought. 7-11's keep springing up around there and the streets sure ain't that square and straight. How about a link on Google Maps...
