  1. Yeah, I was thinking 'what silly goings on' until I saw that great 'double take' photo of a big cock in a golf cart tootling between the tees!
  2. From London or other UK airport? Check the layover in Abu Dahbi, I have seen some excessive waits coming up flying through the Middle East.
  3. Hasn't it been Boris' watch for a while now?
  4. A mate claims a bar of soap in Zambia, that was a long time ago so it might be a bottle of shampoo now.
  5. Air Asia...... Orient Thai...if it ever restarts... Cathay Pacific.... My point, might be more economical to take a quick flight to Bangkok. Hong Kong is too expensive for fun!
  6. Hmm, I thought there was an air attack on a power station Oct 28th, 2008. This is barely 2 weeks ago, near Colombo, Also bombs killed 16 about a year ago again in the capital. If the Government clears up the problem I would love to return to your country......had a great holiday there many years ago.
  7. A lot of regular Thais react to a camera like it was a shotgun. You should see a pic of the GF's mother, I have brought prettier things back from my fishing trips! Prime land, I use Pattaya Nua to get back onto Suk frequently and the stations before the bus station are easy. I don't drive the car West of 2nd Rd too much, actually nearly never..
  8. Agreed, this morning I went back into my bedroom where the AC has been on all night, when I came back into the lounge, where all the windows are open, it is the much cooler place. I went to get a T-shirt. Brrrr must be down to 22 degC ...
  9. Well I guess I must be an exception.... I have been sat at Windmill and found my neck twisting to watch a good football game on the big screen! I only have Sophon at home!
  10. It's not a hotel either, as to talking nonsense
  11. Yes of course, and the other way around too. The only ever problem I had was when both were out and it transpired to be a physically damaged line down the street. They hang down all over like vines! My neighbour got fed up and had a seperate line just for the ADSL put in. Not sure if there is a telephone utility he isn't utilizing. Tom's Maxnet down south seems better than mine in Pattaya (claimed 3M/0.5), I never see download speeds that good.
  12. And likely I will too... as said a 3 day closure coming so last chance before we go to the mattresses.
  13. I thought the mechanics of the pump wouldn't let it happen. There was a station near where I worked in Saudi where this was going on... and petrol was pretty cheap. Easier just to avoid that station!
  14. I think the weather is on the turn. We had a breezy day or two and the evenings seem cooler. Normally indicates the start of the cold season, as Thais call it, great weather for European farangs and a time when my electric bills are less. Apparently it is quite cool up north now, 17 deg daytime in Chiangrai.
  15. I will probably go to Lake Mapbrachan, it is near to where I live and I prefer not to take on the driving! The nicest I ever spent was out in Na Jomtiem. As far as you can go down Jomtiem beach, where the fishing boats are, there is an estuary and some good seafood restaurants.
  16. http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travelling-and-li...eania/sri-lanka Your comments?
  17. You get to talk to someone in the same country when you call? In the UK you get someone with an incomprehensible accent in Bangalore or Delhi! What is all this about T1 and T3, contracts and guarrantees? Aren't we talking about TOT in LOS?
  18. Here is the location. http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/?cNtRUwWrkcHAHDDB I have too much time on my hands!
  19. It matters little what their address is on the Website, do you actually think people live in PO boxes! You posted an incorrect map quoting me, the true location is much nicer!
  20. What the hell is wrong with you man (great map by the way), even the map link you just supplied shows The Sheraton down by the sea and a LONG way from Phratamnak Rd, stop being dopey. It is between the Pattaya Public Park and the Royal Cliff Garden, out there on the point. Where are you talking about? Find the Sheraton on your own map! You can stroll there from Bali Hai pier and not go anywhere near Phratumnak Rd. I have done it, although the hill is a windbreaker.... I wouldn't at night though.
  21. And that phrase speaks volumes for the challenges of a restaurant in Pattaya. So many, really, couldn't give a damn. With the cooler evenings we get now I expect it would be pleasant place for a guy to chill out. Have you considered (or perhaps already implemented) the idea of something free for the freelancers on their arrival? A snack, or a little gift, or maybe 1st drink half price? (or a more flippant suggestion, free condoms )
  22. I pay about B750/month for the 3MB/0.5 choice. Prices go up with the speed options. That of course is not the speed you get, just the advertised speed you share. It can be snail speed on a Saturday night. Best available, well I am not in a position to compare, it beats my previous GPRS, and it sounds like it beats TOT. But best of a bad bunch.... It is useless for Skype...
  23. My TT&T MAxnet has been pretty reliable. It's certainly not fast, but depite the rain outside it is still there. I live on the darkside. I have heard TOT disparaged many a time, particularly wrt to customer relations. This place needs a good injection of competition.
  24. Perhaps to get back to your room after a night out....duh!Your map shows it near Phratamnak Rd which I think is out a little. It is closer to the sea. http://www.pattaya.bangkok.com/sheraton-pattaya/location.htm You can get to it by going on past the pier too. My point is these are dark areas sometimes frequented by the motorcycle kids.
