  1. Found quite a selection of top quality, multi-national restaurants in Sydney. The Chinese options are incredible. The opera house, well of course it was built to dispel the image, as most Ossies probably wouldn't bother to skip a brew to watch fat actors singing, or is it fat singers acting?
  2. Well, judging by the types who can afford it these days I am not so sure!
  3. Well if he makes money at it perhaps I am the dope! Not a way I would buy a mtorcycle though! As to LTGR, seems like he is giving everyone the finger but grasping the wrong end of the stick!
  4. What Australians get issued at the airport, allowing them in for 30 days, is not a visa! Call it whatever, it's a 30 day stamp or visa waiver, it is not a visa! OP, why not just get a tourist visa before travelling, 60 days, extension possible, no problems. You may not be allowed on the plane with a one way ticket and no visa. Two one way tickets would be expensive!
  5. Methinks LTGR is feeling sensitive! We are discussing the BigC auctions, they sell one M/C at a time, and a few bits and pieces. They are started and ridden to the front, it they can be!. Anybody who isn't collecting parts, who bids on one pushed or brought in a wheelbarrow, should be aware of its failings. No job-lots here... your mate sounds a bit of a dope!
  6. Maybe he wanted her to come back and listen to some rap music.... hate that shit!
  7. Wow....you dug my old post up a bit late didn't you?Actually was in 2 weeks back, (I was out of town for a while and to be honest I avoid the GGs over Christmas and New Year), and yes it seemed to be lively again in Babydollys Right, off for a shower now... and I will be in there in 3-4 hours! ! Edit...well generally around town I would say it was a slow start last night! Babydolls seems to have perked up and it gradually filled as I was in there. There seemed to be a lot of large groups of large lads about..... is there a boat in town?
  8. Web sites in LOS aren't very good, they are not kept up to date. I think I used 'All Season's Travel' for a Singpore WOW Package to Bali last year. It was handled pretty well, and the trip went smoothly. Massic Travel perhaps? They issued my tickets to Singapore fine... well printed them, they were E-Tickets. They have on-line booking. Or perhaps you mean 'Global', Qatar airlines agents, right next door to Greggs. There is a reasonable hotel/ guest house place near there isn't there?
  9. A blonde gets a job as a teacher. She notices a boy in the field standing alone, while all the other kids are running around having fun. She takes pity on him and decides to speak to him. 'You ok?' she says. 'Yes.' he says. 'You can go and play with the other kids you know.' she says. 'It's best I stay here.' he says. 'Why?' says the blonde. The boy says: 'Because, I'm the goalie'
  10. Just got back from Penang. I flew Air Asia. You have to pay to check in a suitcase (50 baht/leg when you book, probably a lot more at the airport), and it's weight limit is 15kg. Beware the tight sods charged me 200 baht for being 16.5kg! Most people were carrying a good weight onto the plane, but liquids is always an issue! I saw a few flights from Penang, going directly to Samui on the way back... some little airline I had never heard of...Firefly.http://www.fireflyz.com.my/ Flight at 4pm about 900 baht+.
  11. You are buying 'as seen'... which of course involves risk. At the Big C auction, at least the bike is started and ridden to the front. If you go the day before and check them over, you can protect yourself against being scammed. If you are experienced and confident at knowing what to look for, I would say it's a great place for a bargain. There are some repos, a kid can get a new bike in Pattaya on the road for 900 baht, but probably can't maintain the payments. I would bet a bike for 15k in the auction could be over 25k in the dealers. Another option might be to buy a second hand one privately from a farang..... 'a lying bitch bike'.. he would be glad to see the back of it. There were some good deals in 'The Market' section of this board.
  12. They are normally early in the month. Last time I found out by asking at the enquiry desk in BigC there. My TGF has the following tel #s, she says is the auction company...02-934-7344---48 Also there is the chaotic auction on Threppasit, night market, every Thursday (edit...maybe Friday) at 5pm. I think the above comment is a bit harsh, yes there is a lot of crap, but as far as bikes are concerned, a bargain can be had. Make sure you know all the commissions and charges before you bid. You can go the day before when the bikes are all arranged, pick the ones you are interested in. Beware the boy racer modified ones. Try shopping around to get an idea of prices, maybe Platinum opposite BigC, or Mityon opposite Friendship on Tai. At auction pay substantially less, as these shop owners will be there too! Why not read this thread http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Buy-Motorbik...ya-t212606.html
  13. They got loads of McD in Saudi Arabia.....
  14. And according to the French, 'to eat well in the Uk, you would have to eat breakfast 3 times'....
  15. A case of 'better safe than sorry'.... I can't recall when I was asked to produce the credit card I booked with yet...for a flight.
  16. Mr Toom took me to the airport on Friday. Brand new large car, very good driver.... he arrived perfectly on time. For the return trip I used an official airport taxi... from the Thai Airways end of the airport. It was 1500 baht inclusive of tolls and the 50 baht surcharge. That's 300 more than Mr Toom is charging. It was a fairly new powerful car, and again the driver was very good, maintaining about 120km without any crazy moves.
  17. Bloody Air Asia, had to pay all of £4 for excess baggage weight, 1KG over the 15KG limit, money grabbing cheap sods... I had an empty back-pack, and there were people carrying on kitchen sinks!
  18. I am more inclined to 'do it myself' these days. The advantage is that you have flexibility, book via an agent, and you pay up front with no chance of a refund, and end up in the hotel with the best promotion, for the agent, not the customers. Plenty of 'budget' flights to Phuket.
  19. Fine, so long as the region coding is not incorporated!
  20. I guess they have uses for the aircraft all day. Arrival in LOS isn't bad.....
  21. Jacko knows what he paid for, and my router reports a 3Mbps/0.5, but I have to share that with the kids school and the rest of the street I guess. My speeds to Bangkok (I am in Pattaya) are close to that, just the pipe to the UK gets slow as everyone wakes up and sits around playing on the internet instead of going to work there!
  22. Errr.... I am glad I got the faster 3M option!
  23. You will be considering yourself well beaten if you try 300LT, 100ST too! None more for me!
  24. Perhaps this is directed at the OP rather than me?
  25. Sounds like a good way for an ugly girl to make some money! Easier work than helping on a building site, which pays about the same!
