Yeah Chivas, I also think the exchange rate is at least a component of the price differential. I was looking at prices from each end and they seem to have held them at the same currency levels as some years back. ie A ticket LOS-LHR-BKK is still as it was a year ago in Thai baht. (And effectively looking expensive to someone who holds sterling). You would think that BA, who needs to make £, could drop their prices in Baht easily... but something seems to hold them back. I screwed up, getting a one-way award ticket UK-LOS, to re-align myself to where I lived, but my next trip home will cost me dear, particularly as I like business class (I don't count Jet or Air AsiaX). On our currency subject, the £ is expected to strenthen v dollar to 1.50 over next few weeks, and the $ lose a bit of ground as the Obama honeymoon period ends. Recovery indicators would impact that though.

Or do it the easy way. Get a non-Imm O multiple from Hull. http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/

I seem to recall restrictions on Atlantic crossings for 2 engines many years ago....... -
Well of course, you can put a condo in your own name...a house is not so straightforward.

It is a lot of interest to me. How do you persevere and get these £1800 Biz Clas seats on Thai, I never see them? Let us know if you ever do the A380. I fly into Manchester so my choices are limited (transfer in LHR.... no thanks). I was disappointed with the step down in Biz Class on Emirates, good on the DXB-BKK leg, but to MAN a lesser service. Electric seats and IFE kept crapping out on both legs, There is Fast Track at Manchester but you basically just go through another gate, have a dedicated boarding pass check, then come into the middle of the (long) line for security (no dedicated scanners). Not sure if you are supposed to just push in, but the staff just ignore you and those in the long line glower as you appear to be queue jumping. China Airlines to UK and KLM back this trip. KLM have upgraded their service, but you come back to reality with a bump on the awful AMS-MAN hop which is like a Greyhound bus trip.

He has a 'dongle' with a SIM card in it, that plugs into his USB and gives him the Edge connection to the Network and Internet. This dongle is a scam, as they make you buy it. I just used my mobile phone in LOS. In the UK they won't let it work this way.... only for Internet access on the mobile itself...which is useless. Not sure about the particular SIM that is in the dongle gadget, whether it can be removed and put into the mobile phone..... try it. If it works for an SMS you can determine the number, I don't believe they are any different, just that the number is set to alow 'data'' already. As to setting this up, I have a Samsung and it is part of the software that comes with it for the computer., 'PC Studio' and it wasn't too hard to set up through that.

This is associated with the RR Trent engines used on some of the 777s, no issue seen with GE engines. http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...st&p=635619 -
Yes, well keep your eyes on the ground, I got a clip around the ear and a dirty look from mother (aka fish-face) for ogling all the pretty girls getting their qualifications.

The actual presentation takes only 0.05 seconds, but the military precision it is done with is a wonder to behold!.

Yes and buy a round for the girls, they have a special LD 'cocktail' just for you. -
Yes it is a 'mongers' board, but that is not our profession, let us call it a hobby or lifestyle. There are professionals here who offer their advice freely... Owen always makes good financial points, and there are a few MDs who put us right, even if only to tell us to see our doctor!. For legal matters pertaining to LOS, Joekicker seems to be on the ball. Go see Mr Nadel or Madoff if you prefer.... Are these waters any more shark infested, we who freely admit to our vices.

Why are you moving it out of the UK, particularly if you change the currency while Sterling is so weak? Offshore banks (Isle Of Man and Jersey) have accounts that can be in any major currency and can be controlled using interenet banking. Get yourself a Thai account for local use and you are set. If you insist on moving your cash, Singapore and HSBC might be suitable, but what currency you go into.... who knows! There is a lot of good advice comes forth from this board, and a few mongers might well be very experienced and knowledgeable. Trouble with a professional is they make money at it, for themselves, their advice is compromised by self interest.

I think the 'concept' has it's uses, for the time being until the Thais can provide sufficient manpower, and educate some in foreign languages. The fact that they are volunteers says something about the type they might get, and this guy demonstrated holes in the recruitment filtering. Diplomatic types with language skills yes..... Officious types who like to dress up in uniforms with lots of badges and a batman utility belt, complete with pepper spray ....no.

The picture being posted has been edited in a deliberate effort to defame! You didn't notice this or you really think he looks like that?I think it was terrible of Tom to paint that ridiculous beard on the original picture! -
Interesting, I have never knowingly hit on a site like that (but I don't go to Gay Porn ). In fact the opposite, sites that grind to a halt and lock up my laptop under IE7, but present no issues under Firefox. I also tried Opera for a while but found no advantages over FF.

Nosey sods, I had plenty of these without ever being asked this question. Even the standard form doesn't have a place to enter such detail. As Frosty says, just put something that complies with the limitations. The visa has a validity of 6 months from date of ISSUE, perhaps show the latest entry to be well within that expiration. Of course in reality, you can enter the day before it expires and get 2 further months,

I think you should just use Firefox and forget IE. Make Firefox your default browser and you need never worry again.

Just got back from 'ban nok'..... Easy and fast drive via 331/304........ only roadworks near Wang Nam Khiao, over the mountains, as bigmick replied. Some of the heavy goods stuff shouldn't be allowed over there, they are holding up grannies using zimmer frames What the hell is it doing raining here in Pattaya this time of year?

Yeah I pay extra too, years of traveling for the company business class spoiled me.I shop around a lot, refusing to pay £3000 to BA. I normally pay between £1200-1500, My last one was a cheap one, China Airlines, it would have been good but some lowlifes were upgraded. It isn't only the bigger seat.... lots of other advantages. It's the fast check-in It's the access to lounges and being able to find a seat, rather than aimlessly wandering a shopping mall where all the seats are occupied by selfish people who sleep on 3. It's not having to put up with kids (normally)... or drunks for 12 hours in a cramped seat. I came over in economy the once,, trapped in the middle of a row of 5, unable to get a drink or get out to the bathroom. It is tortuous. I only travel 2 times/year, and budget for it.

Sorry to say I went in about 2 weeks back and there did seem to be very few girls in there.... 8 maybe 10 including service...would have covered it. As it was early, soon after 8.30pm, perhaps they were hiding out in the changing room. Little sign of management, which perhaps explains it. This was just before you introduced the attractive drink prices, so I hope this works out for you. Have always liked Catz reminds me of the 'way it was' some years ago. A place to escape the bright neon, masses of chrome and the thumping bass that vibrates your gut into sickliness!

And a bargain at twice the price.... Even their Biz Class is silly at 5 grand, but you can save on that by using a restricted ticket. I got an email today of special offers for BA Club class LHR-BK about £2000... but it would have to be a better bargain to get me to Heathrow again.
-
Presuming you are flying UK-LOS, well that would depend where you change planes. If it is the Middle East, wander around the airport terminal. You aren't allowed to leave the airport, and you wouldn't want to if you could. If you change in India or nearby, don't even get off the plane, the airports are horrible. If you change in Europe, well yes you could leave the airport if you wanted to,but normally the transit times are short so just meander or sit and read. Best Airlines..... Singapore Cathay.... Then consider European Carriers.... If you leave from London, yes go non-stop if the price difference isn't too much.

Bollocks...I just did a Biz Class unrestricted enquiry for July/August and it came back with £5837. First Class is £9659..both inclusive of taxes!

No, but thanks for asking....
