  1. Agreed, I have eaten here and would go along with the above recommendation.
  2. Which part of 'English' did you not understand?
  3. I kinda think that the best part of waking up, is a nice OJ.... beats 'Folgers in your cup' or cornflakes! Did I say OJ?.... Meant BJ!
  4. I think you would be given short shrift by the boys in brown if you were to complain about one of the established places on Soi Diamond.... They threatened Barrie enough for taking pictures outside! Justice would have been done if the cameraman was to be evicted, slightly damaged, including his skin and equipment...after paying his check-bin of course. I once saw some guy trying to surepticiously use his camera phone for up the skirt shots at Happy.... he was dealt with very politely. The innards of a GO-GO are certainly not a public place, you may get away with a cigarette... but not this, deservedly.
  5. Well April 10th-13th would be Easter weekend, The 12th-15th would also be Songkran.
  6. As opposed to half a dozen bigger than average looking Thai men glowering at you if you had not mistaken the door. Good move by Catz, leaf from LD1, it works for them, I hope it does for you.
  7. Mmmmmmm Carlsberg, I do miss it in LOS!
  8. These changes have no impact on tourists, who provide the 8% you mentioned. What the Expats, who have decided to live/retire in LOS , provide for the 'much dependent' Thais, is probably an unknown quantity on the national scale. I don't think the aim is to make it more difficult for the farrang, more likely easier for the Thai. Probably hard to confirm the residence of a farang in Ubon, when he is at the Immigration office in Had Yai..
  9. Did you sell this yet? My laptop uses DDR2-533 MHz (PC2-4200) and it is only $20 in the USA or £10 UKEbay for 1GB chips. Am I missing something?
  10. which must effectively reduce crime!!!
  11. Yes, airport tax is refundable. In obtaining a refund of the rest of the amount paid for the ticket, you must consider the fare conditions that apply to your ticket. The above is taken directly from the KLM website FAQs!
  12. I know that a Thai does not need visa.
  13. Yes, MM is alert this AM. I live in Thailand, so sometimes the more modern technology escapes me. The aerial on the roof is the key as to what you are specifically being offered.
  14. Well they are not a big deal to install yourself! But to your questions...... Wireless is not faster. The speed depends on your internet connection...namely the wires into the box from the phone lines and what is going on at the Interst Service Provider end (ISP)! The wireless bit is how you get it from that supplied box to your computer. Most laptops come with wireless inside.... desktop PCs not necessarily. Wireless is great for laptops. You can wander around the house and even out into the garden and still connect to the internet, no wires see.. Other members of the household can too, at the same time. A wireless printer is nice, a printer sat anyplace that you can send to without wires. First thing, find out about wireless for your PC... does it have it. do you need to buy it. But don't worry the wireless modem/router will have places to connect the old style 'network cable'. If you are going to keep the PC near the modem/router, a cable will work...also if no other computers or remote printers will be used in your home, no need for wireless. One thing to beware.... if a technician sorts it for you, and makes the wireless network 'secure', as he should... get the password off him! They are twats for keeping it to themselves then you have to pay for him to come back one day!
  15. No, that's Bill Clinton!
  16. I am suffering from deja vu.......
  17. I would say you have dropped a clanger. There's the Go-Go on Thrappaya, and a bit of action in the Jomtiem Centre, but Pattaya it isn't. A bit of aggravation with thieving katoeys on the Beach rd. I think you will be on a baht bus back and forth to Pattaya. That said, if you find a keeper, it's okay!
  18. Yeah, when they have crawled out of the woodwork!
  19. I belive you can get free drinks all night if you go around to Rockhouse and announce, 'I am Papillon, I have come to claim my just deserts!'

    Try using a spell-checker...
  21. A comparison for whom? You were replying to somebody showing the flag of Nauru, which used to be German, where the currency is Australian dollars, discussing a teaching post in Thailand where the currency is Thai baht, and making a comment on the salary, stated in Thai baht, which would be utilized in Thailand......errOff you went on about USD You comparison, as above, has meaning. that of 'over $1000', does not! Anyhow, look what time I posted.... coffee hadn't kicked in.
  22. You need to eat the food to get near to the women. Otherwise they would turn your stomach!
  23. No, people who carry on oversized baggage are a pain. You can see them rushing and pushing to the front to get them in the overhead rack above your seat! Selfish sods.
  24. This party was mentioned at the Expts Club meeting last Sunday. But, no mention of the discount for members made.
