Always great to see photos from one of my favorite places. How much are the Russian ladies charging for ST and LT? Just curious.

What is the Irish Rovers ok to stay in?
midlifecrisis replied to darkmancomes's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Still? I was last in that hotel three or four years ago. As I face the back pool from my room, there was a big empty lot to the left. Roosters would crow every morning in that lot. Is that the lot the buildings are going up on? -

The Areca is not bad and has two pools - one off the lobby. They have internet next to the front desk. My only complaint was there was a lack of dresser drawer/cabinet space for your clothes. I lived out of a suitcase. I was in the back building by the large pool so I can't speak for the entire hotel. Overall I was pleased. It is in an excellent location and set back from Soi Diana a bit. -

So if you are lucky, you won't get the noisy room? The stairs at Secrets would be hard on my knee to negotiate. If I recall there are no bannisters. -

Soi LK Metro has gotten very noisy. I used to stay there a lot but it is just too much now. Other places that stay very noisy late are on Soi 7. I would imagine Secrets on WS is too. Areca is close to there and not too bad. But what the heck! A Pattaya vacation is not for sleeping. -
Look at Mr Metric https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE9Qm8mShik sacrilege on the 4th of July using the metric system Did you have Freedom Fries with that? Or were they French fries?

If there was one guy in sports I wouldn't have thought capable it would have been Phil. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/golf-devil-ball-golf/report--mickelson-tied-to-money-laundering--gambling-case-204514645-golf.html "Phil Mickelson wired millions of dollars to a middleman, who then laundered that money as part of "an illegal gambling operation which accepted and placed bets on sporting events," according to a report from ESPN's Outside the Lines. According to the report, Mickelson transferred the money to 56-year-old Greg Silveira of La Quinta, Calif., who has pleaded guilty to th

My Dental experience
midlifecrisis replied to BeerBelly's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
Yes, I had one when my wisdom teeth were extracted. The clot breaks down leaving an exposed hole. I had to have the wound packed. As the hole healed, the packing required less material until it was fully closed. It is very painful. -

Pattaya City Hospital

In BKK I was in the ER at a Sematajev (sp?) and admitted for two nights. Private room, IV meds, meds to go - teelak in the room (no joiners fee hehe) all for $1200 a couple of years ago. Put it on my visa card. Up front payment was required. I cannot say enough nice things about the professional care I got there. -
My Dental experience
midlifecrisis replied to BeerBelly's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
I understand the pain. I have been there. A root canal fixed the pain but it weakened the structure over time (no root = dead tooth) and eventually it broke and I needed an extraction. The problem with extractions is that it weakens the structure and surrounding teeth can go bad from the resulting bone loss. I had three choices: 1. leave a gap 2. grind the good teeth on either side for a bridge 3. A dental implant I went with the implant. Here in the states most dental insurers regard implants as cosmetic and won't cover them. They did cover the extraction. The cost a decade -

Retired 6-20-14 so almost a year. Have spent time and money remodelling the kitchen and other projects. There are still things to do. Property is like that. A new fence this month shared with one neighbor. A prioritized list awaits time and money. I will leave this place better than I found it. Live in Fresno. Safe where I live but hot in the summer. People are nicer here than in the Bay Area. But it IS Fresno. Now that things have settled down with the house I have been thinking about another trip to LoS. Maybe Thanksgiving but must lose weight. I gained 40 pounds since my last t -
I read on some other boards that the Boss has a very negative rating. So, any more suggestions around Soi Diana that are safe and relatively quiet at night?

How is the old Diana Inn now that it is under different management? I am considering it as my lodging later this year. I have stayed at the Areca - not enough cupboard space, LK Renaissance - the room safe was robbed but by who? The hotel would not accept responsibility since I had a lady with me one evening. I have stayed at the Pasadena on LK Metro but I understand the noise level is much louder now than when I was there last. I am interested in any place in that general area that is comfortable and not too noisy. Thx!

That amazes me about your system of clubs. Now explain to me the tradition behind the home club walking out to the pitch hand and hand with children who also shake hands with the officials and visiting team. Don't get me wrong. I think it's cool!!
