One of the Soi's that you are less likely to get run into by speeding cars and motorbikes, well not a likely at many others. You do need to keep your best eye on the 'pavement', twisted ankle is very possible. The end at 3td road has a nice restaurant, I suspect it is still there.

Well yes, but does one Thai Bank's ATM give a better exchange rate than another ? The exchange booths have different rates so I would think the bank ATM's give different rates. Of course, the next question is which bank ATM gives the best exchange rate ? Kasikorn gave me 33.87 on 14th of July when taking out 18K with the Schwab card.

The 3rd Infiltration Tunnel. D M Z of Korea.
JONPAT replied to firth1974's topic in Pictorial Travel Reports
I bet these tunnels are built just big enough to fit a North Korean bomb thru, perhaps in several pieces. Then they'd have to load it onto a semi-truck to transport it to a suitable site for their likely evil purposes. -

For a few hundred baht try the place if there is no others you'd like to experience. I did; niether I nor the GF thought it was very good and that it was expensive for the two thai dishes that we had. I won't be back but encourage others to give it a try if they have the time and money.

Look for >50 sq mtr Condo for 8 months
JONPAT replied to JONPAT's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
thanks for all the help fellow BMs. The GF and I decided to go with a Centre Condo near her favorite Wat. Not new but functional and gives us a bit of travel budget to visit other cities in Thailand and a Siem Reap visit. I suppose this Topic can be closed. -

Look for >50 sq mtr Condo for 8 months
JONPAT replied to JONPAT's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
/thanks, I am saving those for a last resort so to speak. I'm checking out vt5 today and the Central Condo. Try walking around Big-c on Klang Saturday. Then try Urban & City Center Monday. I'v stayed at Avenue but it was about 35 mtrs, stayed at Urban in a one bedroom about 55 mtrs and pretty much liked it. City Center scares me because of the market noise and wat noise. But those two may have to do. -
Look for >50 sq mtr Condo for 8 months
JONPAT replied to JONPAT's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Yes, plenty but you have to know about them. Just walking into condo's near the bahtbus routes and asking the desk or reading the bulletin boards can get frustrating real wuickly. Especially in 85 degree heat. I'll end up getting kphlucked real good by an realeator. Thanks for the good wishes. At least I think I know the fallback of a 44 sq mtr studio in Markland for 18K plus 1000 for wifi plus 100 baht for the damed cable(Sophon). I can live in it but I think there should be bigger better for the same rice with wifi included. -
I am looking for a 1 bedroom or larger condo for 8 months. Price up to 24,000 baht. Must have wifi/internet access included, cable TV, and not too far from the bahtbus. I prefer near Big-C Klang but would think of other areas of the city including Naklua but not Jomtien. Well, Jomtien if it was cheaper.

Fat women are just not good to look at, screwing is ok, heck if you can close your eyes and dream then they blow ok.

I would pick a city and an area of that city and decide which hotel I wanted for a day to so during the next couple weeks that were on the screen. I could pull up all the hotels they had for any city for the next two weeks. The new site isn't designed for me. Oh well.

This website has changed. Perhaps it is just me? Does it look the same as back in Feb to you? Used to be you could search a list of hotels per city or portion of city, no longer. It is not user friendly now.

NFL is becoming an Athletic Exhibition, not a real sport
-
With the money involved you'd think the NFL would do more to insure the integrity of the game, this was't the first time Brady had the air let out of the ball by his lacky. I can not imagine the anger a bettor who lost money on that game has towards both Brady and the NFL. The NFL has lost some glitter, they can not be trusted to provide a fair playing field for both teams.

I guess she didn't realize she needed to drive on the left
JONPAT replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I highly doubt she was 'thinking' at all, pure adrenaline and fear for her life after the first fender bender. Thai's will kill you and ask questions later. It isn't for no reason that Thai's high tail it after an accident.. -
International transfers (American Bank to Thai Bank)
JONPAT replied to simplelife's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Yes, you are correct. I sent $579.65 from Schwab and my printout from 2nd road BangkokBankshows that I am credited with $574.65 at the NY Branch of Bangkok bank so $5.00 sent for a fee somewhere. I was given 32.39 baht to the dollar for a total of baht 18,612.91 Then another fee of 200 baht was charged before I finally got credited 18,412.91 into my account. ATM at 18,000 baht a transaction from now on out, hope the exchange rate is reasonable via ATM. -
International transfers (American Bank to Thai Bank)
JONPAT replied to simplelife's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Thanks MM, worked like a charm. Had Schwab bank send test transactions, updated Bangkok bank book, showed bankbook to assistant handing out numbered tickets saying 'test transaction' 'international transfer', she gave me a ticket and said 'desk 10 or 11', those desks are the first two open desks on the left. The lady and her trainee at desk 11 knew exactly what I wanted, trainee printed out info and lady chatted about American banks and how much they charge to transfer money via ACH. This was at the branch across from Soi 6/1 on 2nd road Pattaya. Watch when walking in the parking lot, the -
Budget hotel near swampy please

excellent point, many seem to offer only one way 'free' transfer. Nanaq Plaza to airport is around 500 baht. you need a calculator to keep things straigrt. -
Mandatory registration of SIM cards in Thailand
JONPAT replied to DrPat's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I think this time 'they' mean business. The army is in charge and doesn't care about some small inconviniense to phone users. The phone companies only see an upside this time around; reselling millions of sim cards. -
Will Sophon get rid of one of those Russian language channels any time soon, I wish.
