Billabong hotel soi LK Metro CC prepayment?
ronrat replied to NorCalKid's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I agree. I sent my CC details to the Sandy Springs last year but with their agreement I did it on 3 different emails using 2 different email addys. It is not that hard. And I was pulling my bloody hair out in August trying to get something for New Years and ended up getting the last room at Lekatai. Just for research I am going to walk around to the 6 places that were full and find out out how many have vacancies. There will be a few with no shows, booked by pricks who have booked a few different places so they can have a look before they walk on in. IMHO a deposit is a good thing if it stops these twats booking 4 rooms then only 2 or 3 are used up because they couldn't get their mates to tag along. -
Basket of goodies. A time share the folks own does this, but with food. They are self contained units. You can buy them at reception. Something like a few cold beers, mixers (for the duty free) some peanuts, 100 baht worth of 5, 10, and 20 baht coins, water, small soap, little shampoo, 2 toothbrushes and tooth paste, a razor, cheese and crackers, tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc (assuming a kettle is available), some packet noodles, a few pieces of fresh fruit etc. Price it to be reasonable and if the punter can gain 20 minutes less unpacking and 20 minutes less at 7-11 he probably won't mind paying it. Put some business cards in for the punter to take with him. Even throw in a cheap beer condom as advertising.

Lekatai may help as well.

Unless you were walking through with a midget, a ladyboy, a stunner and a 60 minutes reporter at the same time who cares. Mos tpunters don,t care and in many cases you stop off for a nightcap and your BF just starts chatting to the the other girls. I like to think I don't grab mingers that I am ashamed of anyway.

Thomas McCauley- arrested on drug charges
ronrat replied to BobbyFriedman's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
The article also says this bozo is from the Republic of Ireland. Perhaps the BBC would like to enlighten the Thai Police because last time I checked Belfast was in Northern Ireland. And if you want to speak to people who know him I suggest you talk to students, bar girls and his other customers. -
Thomas McCauley- arrested on drug charges
ronrat replied to BobbyFriedman's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Why doesn't the Op do what most western journos do regarding Thailand. Get off your arse, fly to Bangkok. This has to be via Hong Kong so you can get pissed with a few mates at the Foreign Correspondents Club. Stay at a 5 star hotel in Bkk and get pissed with a few expat journos. Get a limo down to Pattaya and stay at the Royal Cliff, or similar. Play a few rounds of golf. Go to Walking Street and take photos of pissed up Chavs and Neds misbehaving. Ask them if they have heard of drugs in Thailand. Interview a few overweight middleaged battleaxes from the UK on beach road and ask them what they like about Pattaya. Only quote the ones who hate the "Dirty old men with underaged prostitutes etc" (conveniently ignore the fact that the husband is now in Soi 6 getting a short time because his wife is now fat and doesn't root). Go to Big Buddha and take photos to show your old Mum and your wife. Go to Pattayaland, pick up a ladyboy and take him to a ST room. Get totally maggotted on the flight home. Go home, search the net, and write a piece about Thailand. Make sure it targets midde aged men exploiting hookers, drunken louts, corrupt police and say it is spoiling it for families. Mention golden triangle at every opportunity. Put something in about Gary Glitter. Put some bullshit in about the drug trade but say the expats living there have clammed up (mainly because you didn't ask them). Write your article and submit with your expenses. If you want this forum to grass up on the basis of one post get a reality check. -
In November last year there was some construction noise from the inn of the golden crab next door. But not early in the morning, although 10 Oclock is early for some. Probably finished now. Well I could hear it from the Sandy Springs. (same same). I was thinking about staying there but at the time I was smoking then and they are definitely a no smoking place. Even the little bar on the street frowned on cigarettes. Can't fault the location.

I've always reckoned that any airline that intoroduces stewardesses you can bar fine and had a ST room in the back would win a niche market. For those who like poofs or LBs try QANTAS.

It is alleged that the girls were getting 125 baht a short time and the pimps were charging 3000 baht for 30 minutes. It is also alleged that on the one day off a week the girls were encouraged to work and could make up to 1200 baht a ST. It is further alledged that the girls knew what they were getting into. The contract to bring them about meant the girls had to have between 650-750 STs before they could start making money. The accused all have asian names. 2 are called Ho (LOL) Where can we find a girl who will go 125 baht ST, not in Patts. As part of the deal the girls had to surrender the passports to the pimps and were not to leave accommodation unescorted. Charges include possessing and using a slave.

From Australian Broadcasting Corporation site. Thai women not sex slaves, court told Posted 56 minutes ago Map: Melbourne 3000 Defence lawyers for four men accused of running a prostitution racket have disputed that the women involved were kept as slaves. Four men are standing trial facing a total of 29 charges for their involvement in a scheme that brought Thai women to work as prostitutes in Melbourne. The men have pleaded not guilty to slavery-related charges. The prosecution says five women were brought into the country to work in the sex industry for minimal reward. But defence lawyer James Montgomery SC said one of the prostitutes had sent back almost $32,000 to Thailand while she was under contract. Mr Montgomery said the women were chauffer-driven to doctors appointments, hairdressers and restaurants, and that they earned thousands of dollars. The trial resumes next week. Defence lawyer John Dickinson SC asked the jury to scrutinise the business acumen of the women, and whether they came to Australia through trickery or voluntarily. Shit if this gets back we are are all in trouble. One girl has sent back 7500000 baht. Based on the current price around Melbourne, give or take the low/high cost knock shops the girl has sent back the equivalent of about 300 short times. A jury in Australia would never be able to work out just what the business acumen of a Thai Bar Girl. Anyone with a knowledge of Thai affairs or even basic business affairs would be kicked off the jury before it started. Although the bs about chauffeurs, I think he meant guards.

I saw this happen in a 4 ball better ball comp. The first to tee off missed and then had another swing and hit it (about 10 metres). The other 3 were forced to take the second shot from the tee as they were deemed to have taken the first shot. They let him go last after that. Only in match play can you be forced to go in turn. The rest is just etiquette. But yeah, generally let him hit it and get off the tee box.

2oo baht for a one hour massage but it normally went 90 minutes. That might have been because I threw all of them a small koala or Kangaroo key ring. If you ask them to come to your room Sandy Springs charges a 100 baht fee (fucking cheeky). My room overlooked it so I used to have a smoke on the balcony and talk to them. They never offerred extras but there were not many lookers but the massages were good and I took a girl from Secrets there for a head and neck massage, 150 baht, and she said it was very good. It was always busy so they must be doing something right. I,m sure if you asked there would be few up for it but innthat location you can walk a few hundred metres and find a bar of FL of much better quality.

Can't comment on the others but I stayed at the Sandy Springs in November and it would be ok for what you want. The balconys are large enough the rooms were a good size for 2 people and large enough to have 4 lounging about in. . The pool area has an attendant that can serve you drinks and set up the lounges in what ever configuration you want. Free towels in the pool area as well. Although the pool temp was a little colder than I would have liked. I left my wallet on the lounge and by the time I got to my room the attendant was halfway there with the thing and not a baht missing. I was on the 4th floor with a balcony overlooking Soi 13. A nice legitimate massage place across the road. A good laundry near the entrance to the Lek Hotel. Quiet enough and the rooms were very clean. Great location as near to the beach and also Mikes etc. In between the baht bus routes so easy to get a around and a pleasant stroll to WS. Wifi sucked a bit but you could always use an internet cafe. No safe in the cheaper rooms but deposit boxes in the lobby. Not sure if the have adjoining rooms but it should meet most of your needs.

And that should be all folks. 1000 baht guest fee. Why don't they just say no guests allowed. -
655.60. I was probably higher but I didn't know what a church and I may have been sucked off by a ladyboy but didn't know it.

I was looking at staying there last year. I emailed them. The response I got was if you book the room as a double no joiner fee. So if you go the cheap charlie route to save a 100 baht you get hit with joiner fees. Personally a stupid policy. You pay for the room, they still have to clean it. And if there is a minibar chances are the BG will devour half the snacks and drinks. It always pays to know the guest policy upfront. It also doesn't hurt if when emailing the places and they email back with a joiner fee requirement and you decide not to stay you reply. "Because of your guest fee I will stay somewhere else. Your hotel not bargain"
