  1. I don't think you have any cause for concern. If the last two 'high seasons' are anything to go by, this year's will be practically over by the time you hit Patts in mid-January. As for the girls, they vary of course, but generally speaking they're hungry for business and will negotiate unless they're stunners/well sponsored. Babydolls in particular has taken its reputation for hands-on fun up a notch in recent months, and for the price of a tequila or two, you won't have any trouble getting your tummy rubbed just about as soon as you walk in. Hope you have a good trip.
  2. No he's not, he's a very switched-on businessman, and a pleasant, down-to-earth chap to talk to. If you stay there, as I did several times, you're in good hands and should ordinarily have a good time right in the middle of Soi half-dozen. Otherwise join our very own Paps in a minority of, er, one.
  3. Apparently she's a post-op, not my scene but very attractive to look at, nice personality too.
  4. Thanks mate, I know that Adam took a whole bunch of pics on the night, and no doubt they'll appear when he gets a moment to put them up.
  5. I'd love to mate, but I'll have the War Office with me, and she disapproves for some reason.
  6. Bushcraft is expecting and hoping to be 62 not out on Thursday, 7th October, and will be celebrating this momentous feat at Cherry Bar. There will be Indian food provided by the Tikka Centre, and also western and Thai karaoke. Following momentous efforts by Adam's manageress Nam, the bar next door to Cherry has agreed to cut out its normally very loud music on the night, which promises to make things a lot easier on the ear for the karaoke and normal conversation. Food served from 8.30 pm. If you're in town, it would be great to lift a beer or two with you. Y'all come now!
  7. The 'wrong' in his post was irony mate, that's why it was written 'wrong' and not wrong. Brits habitually refer to the right-hand side of the road as the wrong side, it's irony and it went over your head
  8. Funky is the last person coming to Patts who is in the least concerned about drinks prices unless he's being ripped off, that's why he asked about BF prices, which are more indicative to him - I look forward to introducing the two of you to each other when he's back in town, and then I'm going to join you for one or several nights out so that three kindred spirits can have a hell of a time in a red-blooded male's paradise.
  9. Don't know of any apart from Canterbury Tales, the owner has a very good selection, is a nice guy and deserves support, even if there are others.
  10. Thanks for hosting a great party with good music - very high standard of impromptu singers too, I love that. And 10 out of 10 for the food, absolutely delicious. Pet Mau is a nice bar to be in.
  11. Thanks to Lovedog and all the others for the informative warning - sorry you've come down with it, get well soon Randy.
  12. I don't think this can have been TTT. Whenever I've witnessed him groping ladies, there has never been a case of emotional anguish and distress, nightmares and flashbacks except on his own part. Repeated counselling sessions with me have taken effect though, and he's beginning to enjoy it more.
  13. Hi Cookie, come right now, its bloody quiet everywhere in Patts. But at any time you won't find LK Metro disturbing late at night.
  14. You are clearly well educated, but neither informative nor amusing. You equally clearly have some form of compulsive disorder. You are clogging this and other fora with your inane prattle, and I personally don't wish to see this particular, good forum spoiled by irrelevant stuff like yours. The option of course is to ignore you if you persist. So I'm not reading any more of your daft, self-indulgent threads, and I hope MM helps to spare the other BMs from them by in some way screening them before said clogging takes place. Go and get professional help so that you can perhaps contribute something useful to Pattaya life - not everybody you encounter here deserves your brand of patronising self-aggrandisement.
  15. Hi just-in, I think most of us like food, and this place has a good reputation for its cuisine. The OP and his wife have noticed this happening 3 times, so it's not just an unfortunate error. Why would you call these reported incidents into question and say this is not true? What are you saying, he made a mistake 3 times, he's lying, or what?
  16. Thanks for a wonderful party TTT and GM, we had a marvellous time and wish you every success with the Pet Mau.
  17. Thanks for the very supportive comments chaps, they're highly appreciated. I financed Chanpen not for my own benefit (a shared profit would have been welcome, but by personal inclination I'm better on the punter's side of the bar than on the owner's side), but to give Fah a business of her own and an outlet for her managerial skills, which are formidable. Never having been a BG herself, and actually disliking the whole scene, she's nonetheless one of those mother-type figures who have a huge heart for the girls but are quickly capable of coming down on them hard when they bullshit and lie. The girls love her for her efforts to train the promising ones up for cashier, mamasan etc., and to listen to the woes of all. Fah would be better placed in a large establishment which she can help to make great, rather than in a small restaurant/bar which does not promise to do well any time soon even without infrastructure problems. The water problem is of course solvable with money, we've examined the options, but we've decided that the landlord's attitude bodes ill, and that the investment would still not ensure a good chance of success in the present business climate.
  18. WTF Frosty? Green Malaka has an interest in DD, as a lot of people know. DD is now ready for an opening party, thanks to great efforts on the part of TTT and GM. GM has to leave for Canada on Thursday. Bars are closed on Monday and Tuesday. That leaves Wednesday to have the opening bash. Not much option if he is to be there. I think a lot of the regulars will be there for the barcrawl and go on to DD later, at least I certainly will. It's just an unfortunate clash of dates, but we'll manage as we always do. But why on earth do you think that TTT and GM, who have graced many a barcrawl in the past, would intentionally sabotage one by arranging an opening party that clashes? It's life, some things are unavoidable. See you at DD after the crawl, me old mate.
  19. I'm sure we'll run into each other when you're next here - just PM me and we'll meet up. I have my own income anyway, and Fah is a brilliant hostess/girl-manager who I'm sure will have no problem finding new work.
  20. We see no option but to close Chanpen Bar right away - not so much because things have been quiet (that was expected), but because there is a water supply problem that we could not have foreseen, but which will be too expensive to fix for the return to be expected from the business. Fah and I want to thank everybody who gave us their custom - by all accounts many people enjoyed the food and laid-back atmosphere at Chanpen. Basically the mains water supply is metered and supplied from next door, not on our premises, a fact that was (apparently) not even known to the owners of the building (!) when we signed up for the lease. Next door has been quietly using water that we pay for, and bills have now turned from high to horrific. Caveat emptor, but there was no way of knowing beforehand. Rectifying this would cost a lot of money and installation work for a new water connection - the landlord typically refuses to contribute a single Baht to ensure a basic infrastructure for the premises he rents out - and in view of this upheaval and expense, plus lack of confidence in bars as a paying proposition nowadays, we're calling it a day while our investment remains relatively painless.
  21. As I understand it, you are allowed to screen an opponent from the ball with your body if you are in possession, e.g. to allow it to go out of bounds for a throw-in, but you are not allowed to physically restrain an opponent by pushing an arm across his chest to stop him overtaking you to gain possession. The fact that one often sees it happen doesn't make it ok. No sour grapes, just felt deprived of a potentially superb second half by the no-goal decision, which inevitably had at least a psychological effect on the English team. With England out, I hope Germany wins the World Cup, they're a very good team and I hope they can achieve it cleanly and fairly. Good officials would help of course.
  22. Don't put money on it, and your comment (first post eh, welcome to the Board) sounds unfortunately smug. The Germany defence were a shambles against England on several occasions. Surely you know how lucky but dishonourable Germany were last night. Germany always fields a strong team, and good luck to them for their precise passing and great off-the-ball running, but last night's match revealed major weaknesses too. You're up against the cheat Maradona's boys next - good luck, you'll need it. A luckier England team might have made this a second half to remember forever, what a pity. The disallowed goal was an outrage, changed the entire match/England tactics and will have consequences in terms of camera replay/sensor systems etc. when that corrupt c*nt Blatter is persuaded to let soccer advance from the 1950s or resign. And am I the only one to be similarly outraged because for the last ten yards of his goal-scoring run, Klose held the defender back with an outstretched right arm across the chest? - a blatant foul that was also not picked up on by the blind linesman. It's not allowed in the rules, and is simply cheating. It was not soccer's greatest night, and not one that Germany can be proud of. Changes are needed for the good of the beautiful game.
  23. ... but the French were not even there for the final
  24. Watched England win last night and felt a whole lot better about their prospects. Anyone notice how incident-free and fair that match was? (Only 1 yellow card I think) - great, after all the outrageous cheating (shirt-pulling, flailing elbows, late tackles and obvious dives) in many other matches. Germany vs. England is always exciting to watch, but it's anyone's guess right now. I'd prefer them to meet in the final, but it's not to be. I'm sorry to say it, but I fear Germany will win this one (hopefully not on bloody penalties though, those bastards cheat by practicing beforehand).
  25. I agree wholeheartedly, that continuous noise must ruin the stadium atmosphere and it irritates the hell out of me when watching on TV. Maybe a dab of superglue on each mouthpiece could be applied as a compulsory entry procedure.
