  1. I came in two nights ago and it was business as usual, no signs of anything out of the ordinary at the airport. Im going into Bangkok Friday morning to the HQ of the Royal Thai police and I will update this thread then on anything I see.
  2. This is correct, my friend emailed to tell me it is now one person - one cart -m compulsory. Along with your caddie and green fee. It will set you back close to 3500 Baht. So, many expats are giving the place a miss and going else where. During high season it is not uncommon to see higher green fees at most of the golf courses, but at this place, they had announced they were going skint - so decided to raise all the fees.
  3. I searched for them two years ago and had no luck. I ordered online from the USA and they came by post. Glad I got them.
  4. Mine was issued in July and the lady at the consulate rang me to tell me it had been approved and then went onto say I had been lucky to get it before the changes come into effect in September when I would have to show money in a Thai bank. I wonder if it is just Hull as they have been giving out Non immigrant visas for years without any kind of documents to back things up and now have stricter procedure's just for Hull.
  5. Yes that is correct, when I applied for mine at Hull ( Non O Multi entry) I only had to show proof of marriage, after September this year you will now have to show proof of money in the bank of 400'000 baht also. Same rule apply for Non O for retirement
  6. I think you should post her picture here and see if any of us has fucked her for 1500 baht know her to be a good girl
  7. Like every where else in the world it all comes down to supply and demand and location/location/location. I have just sold my 2 bed condo in Wongamat because the place has become a mini Moscow. The man who bought it has 26 condos in Pattaya and his plan is to reach 40. All of his condos are rented and he gets quite an income from them all. His key to his success is in the locations of each building and the fact that all the buildings are very modern and do not have several hundred condos slumped ontop/next to each other. You can get some good deals around now, but you need to do your home work
  8. You can check out the weather on www.acuweather/pattaya.com
  9. To see the fight - best place will be The I Rovers on LK Metro, enjoy a good breakfast while you watch the fight
  10. I like the location, but agree the service is shite, and the dishes ordered come out over a long period of time and sometimes they forget some of what you ordered. I wont go back as I found they had tried to "add" drinks to our bin. For a great mean out with friends, I still prefer the Vientiane on South Pattaya Road / Soi 1
  11. I think after Pattaya I would look at outskirts of Bangkok or Hua Hin. I am not really a country person son - so Issan is not really for me unless it was in one of the bigger cities like Udon. I looked at Udon earlier this year but was shocked at how expensive it is there for just about everything.
  12. I cant see it happening, the japs, Chinese and the Russians are worth too much to the economy to start to piss them off. If you have a visa in your passport, does that not mean you have permission to enter the country already.
  13. I got mine back in July, just before they changed the rules about money in the bank. I had sent them a copy of my Thai marriage certs and wifes passport and they were happy with that. It was sent to London for approval and came back next morning and was issued.
  14. I never had that issue when I got mine, I also put I was flying back to Thailand in 1 week and I got my visa back in 3 days.
  15. I would suggest you rent in one area first for 6 months and then move around to another area. Pattaya is a very big city with a lot to see and many different areas to live in. By renting in different areas for a few years first, you can get a better feel for the area you will like most. You can then buy if you wish and save yourself the cost of rent later on.
  16. So what is the cost? A good friend of mine took a boat to Hua Hin a few years back and it took nearly 5 hours to get across and cost 4500 baht. I told him when he came back he could have taken the mini bus from Pattaya Tai and changed at monument for 450 baht each way.
  17. Tom, I flew Royal Laurel back in August to London with my wife and we really enjoyed the service. I found the staff on board very polite and attentive. Food was excellent and I would definitely fly them again when I need a direct flight to London. One of the best business class seats I have had.
  18. Not all draft beer drinkers are cheap Charlie's for sure, but if you look at the curry nights, you can clearly see the men waiting for a free curry are all or 99% drinking draft beer and after eating, They come in about 15 minutes before serving time and leave about 15 minutes after. Its a conversation I have had with Ricky many times about the cost of food on the night versus the custom in return and is it worth it. Each to their own, but I would not have free curry nights like this is set up. I would try something different like they do at the Jade House were you buy a ticket for 200 baht an
  19. I think you will find Wobbly's comments were made as a bit of a joke, he is a good friend of the owner and has no axe to grind. Its just a bit of fun. Have you noticed on any of the curry nights just how many guys sit in there 15 minutes before serving time with just a single draft beer and then leave after eating as much as possible - while only drinking one draft beer.
  20. Try to find the pastor/reverend at St-Nicklaus church on Sukhomvit Rd. His details are usually in the local papers. (Pattaya Mail)
  21. You need to give us some more information than this. Are you marrying a Thai, Western lady or a donkey. Give us some more info and we may be able to help you out
