  1. Exercise is good, even if it's just walking around places at night. I'm not sure how safe the bike riding is in traffic though.
  2. I'm not surprised that it was really him. He's out there. I do find some amusement in reading his distorted views though. Just don't take him seriously.
  3. Do all Glitterman posts share the same misuse of the English language? Or is this a cheap imitation?
  4. I'd like to see glitterman preach his views in person while a wild group are drinking and enjoying a soccer (football) match. He might lose a few feathers in the process. I wonder if clever also posts from Thailand.
  5. I like China Airlines. They are often the best deal around. Nice flight attendants too!
  6. They should start by enforcing the one carry-on per passenger rule. They could charge extra for the additional carry-on items. This would target the true abusers of carry-on privleges. These new rules still would allow me to put my back-pack under the seat in front of me without additional charge.
  7. American Express is the kind to get, they are known world-wide. I have never had a problem with them.
  8. I wanted to ask this myself. I wanted one to be gone, next thing you know. "They're Back!" (like in Poltergeist)
  9. If you don't want to post, it's quite simple. Don't post. You could still access the board and try searching for info and READING posts. There is plenty of knowledge if you take the time to look for it.
  10. Maybe it isn't as witty as you thought it was. People can try to help or contribute or not. People can criticize the Haitian government if they want. There isn't anything to joke about.
  11. It should be right away, as I recall, if the size is within limits I don't know why you are having trouble. Don't worry, someone will know.
  12. When you are entering a post, you will see a button (in lower right corner) to browse your computer for the file to upload. After you find the file, click on the upload button that is right. It is best to resize images to a reasonable size before uploading. 2MB is the maximum size allowed.
  13. I didn't mean to knock street vendors, some of them can be quite good.
  14. The whole "Living like a King" thing is a very common exaggeration used by many to encourage others to go somewhere. Usually the lifestyle of those saying this is closer to a backpacker. I had a friend who always said this to try to persuade me to go. I found out from someone who did go that part of his budget included sharing cheap rooms with two beds and eating at street vendors. I eventually did make it to Thailand on my own and lived at a much better yet affordable standard. The bottom line is: Thailand is a remarkable value. You can live well for very little, or get by for next
  15. http://www.sawadee.com/hotels/chiangmai.html You may get some ideas from sawadee.com, they have some nice places listed out of town. I can't name them for you, as I have always stayed near the Night Bazaar. Places like Mai Rim or Mai Ai look nice.
  16. I hope there isn't going to be a lot of this sort of thing going on. Making them use the meter usually assures a fair price. If this is going on, I guess you have to stop and get a different taxi.
  17. Keyboard Warrior Wannabees.
  18. If you are able to do it, I say pace yourself on the ladies and enjoy some pressure free time. You don't have to live like a two week millionaire to have a great time. Maybe a good opportunity to see some other parts of Thailand as well.
  19. Maybe you could get someone in your hotel to write a card in Thai that you can not eat anything containing peanuts or even cooked in peanut oil. If they understand the seriousness of the situation, maybe you will find somewhere you can enjoy the food.
  20. This marks the end of an Era. Nana was the place where anything goes provided they have IDs. (Or, the ID checker is tipped.)
  21. It just seems easier to go with the main-stream rather than making a stand on principal. Also there is the issue of compatibility and familiarity with the programs in use by the masses. Yes, I use Microsoft, though I scorn their very name.
