You never can predict prohibition, but traditionally it's an open-all-night deal, so you shouldn't be cramped. I'd be tempted to just go to Bangkok BECAUSE there will be fewer drivers around. But Pattaya and Bangkok are both party towns on Amateur Night, it's really six of one, and you're as likely to be (un)lucky in one as t'other. No need to get picky on where to stay. The usual. .

I see. And here I thought Pattaya Talk was about mongering, smoking, screwing, finding bargains, lavishing out and enjoying oneself at a certain resort town. What next, a ban on everything but temple history? .
-
We know you do, wac, really we do. So. You just cleanse the temple, drive out those darned money changers, wipe out Apple, ExxonMobil, General Electric (Barry will NOT be happy), Ford Motor, Warren Buffett... just wipe them out. No more Wall Street. Simple. Then what? .

Old people, aren't they great? Sharp as a tack, and the older they get, the better they remember. There are really bad areas of flooding, because authorities (so far) have been able to control the water flow reasonably well. That's the good news. The bad news is that they control it one place -- no flooding in Bangkok to speak of, say -- by flooding other places two or three metres deep, Pichet and Ayutthaya, say. In Pichet, they cannot get enough boats, and they're sending truckloads of them up from Bangkok and have been for a month. In Ayutthaha, up to a few days ago, they flooded the city so that the farmers could get the rice out of the fields. .

The main reason I attend Pattaya Talk is for the English grammar lessons. .

I never trust the rain-fallen figures. That said, it's going to be a wet weekend and it's going to rain on Mondy and Tuesday for certain. Put those patent-leather boots and Brooks Brothers pants in a plastic bag in a high place in your house. .

Can't be as bad, as depressing, as soul-sucking and as all-round horrible as NOT licking pussy. .

Why are you arguing about this? Pattaya gets some downpours and has water in the streets for a few hours. It does NOT get water washing away families and homes and a year's worth of work over a three or six-week period. It does not get all industry closed. The car factories around Pattaya stay open. In Ayutthaya, they close. It's a disaster for them. I was not in Pattaya on Sept 11. If I was, would I have been in danger of dying in a landslide? Had my car submerged for 6 days? Been absolutely unable to drive because the highway was suddenly washed away in front AND behind me? There are floods, and then there are floods. What Pattaya gets, the most dangerous and inconvenient thing is someone steps on a submerged electrical wire. Pattaya gets the occasional gully-washer. You'd think it was a three-day blizzard the way some talk about it. But even if it was, the point is it was three DAYS, not three weeks. You want to see floods, read the Thai newspapers. Or the Vietnamese ones. Or the Pakistan ones. And enjoy the great weather and lack of flooding in Pattaya. You want to see floods, plan a day trip to Ayutthaya or Ang Thong and away you go, just a three, four-hour drive, right? Right? This is a flood. Not just because it's way worse than Sept 11 in Pattaya but because it's been going on and on and on, and it's getting worse and it WILL get worse still. .

The question is: Can you get a bus from Suvarnabhumi airport? .
-
Yep, good ideas. Thanks. .

Pattaya will never be flooded like other places are/have been. It can rain a lot and the drains can back up for hours. That's it. Up-country, in the river basins (and already in parts of Bangkok) it's weeks, not hours. Pattaya doesn't even have a river to overflow. Just consider yourselves lucky and try to refrain from comparisons because some millions are REALLY suffering, and not just a bit wet from the drizzle. .

You might be right, you might be wrong, but a moment of swoosh. Wall Street *IS* necessary because Apple *IS* a public company. .
-
Funny, but the first thing that came to *MY* mind was the always increasing numbers of government "workers", quotes needed. That's because Apple is the second biggest company in the world by stock value, and has an awful lot of people who do Wall Street stuff. Without Wall Street, you wouldn't have Apple, and Jobs would be selling computers out of a garage in his home, not able to get any bigger or invent stuff because he couldn't afford the airfare to Taipei. But even if government were 10 per cent its current size, we'd have both Wall Street and the Apple it helped to create. .

Right on, but you only touched the tip of the problem. What about your fingers? Covered with goo from that girl's (yucko) pussy (nasty, dirty). And your penis!! Keep it at least three metres from any bargirl. NEVER remove it from the triple underwear. Sex is original sin. Two, three times in your life, you must try to impregnate the one western, non-Asian woman you have committed to God to keep and protect. Other than that, never, ever think about it, because thinking about it is quite sinful. It had to be said. Even if it saves just ONE BM from sinning, it's worth the ridicule. I know you agree, and thanks chatkeow. .

Obama, today, on a different subject but still... "People are taking out that old record, dusting off that old record...." Dear Barry, No, they are not. They're not, because of Jobs, more than anyone else. I understand that "liked" may be a trifle generous. I wasn't shocked, it was obvious he was quickly going. But RIP is right. Established Apple, then saved it from its predators. Jobs professionally was everything that is right with the USA and the world. He gave people better, and better and BETTER stuff -- that they didn't even know they wanted, and then they wanted and eventually even needed it, AND it was good for them, made them better, made them more productive, helped them. Every year, what he invented got cheaper and better. Compare that to what the government does. Compare it to, oh, say, schools - where every year the product gets worse AND more expensive. You went way too soon, Steve, and you took too much with you. May we have thousands more Steve Jobs, and soon. .

Never heard of one. The buses go from the SOUTHERN bus terminal across the river in Thon Buri - Phetkasem Road. .
-
I agree. I also agree these are not even CLOSE to the worst in living memory, not yet at least. They've been very harmful and killed 225 people and they've got a way to go yet -- but there have been worse floods in the last few years, let alone in memory. .

My bet would be more. They are by far the noisiest. The whole anti-autism scare BS nonsense trash was driven by the left. But there are lots of rightwing conspiracy nuts in on the anti-vaccination thing too. And don't forget fluoride, the John Birch-discovered government plot to soften our brains for... well, Barack Obama and his commie running dogs. .

Sure, you've got America pegged there, little one. Any idea who publishes the Journal of Clinical Oncology and where they live? No. But the stuff that isn't fun also isn't safe. Chances are you're going to die. .

There are vaccine programmes and vaccine programmes. Perry would have (but never did, by the way) vaccinated kids without informing the parents what was going on. It was the MANNER of the project, not the programme or the vaccine per se. That said, the whole "choice" thing on vaccines is questionable. There are now epidemics of childhood diseases because parents get a CHOICE to opt out Billy and Suzie from those nasty vaccinations that cause autism and cancer and show the government is trying to take over the country by vaccines. This is an excellent vaccine and has been (rightly) moved ahead and promoted. But Perry's plan to just shoot up the kids was pretty offensive. Which is why it never proceeded. .

Thank you. I think there are actually two threads on this. They're worse than vegetarians. .

Sometimes so-so teams have a great day, and great teams have an off day??? .

I think one or two non-bar owners might be criminals as well these days. .
