Pattaya beach is filthy and full of rats
joekicker replied to dontcha's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
The early 60s. heh. That was a couple of semesters ago. Lots of hits for "cannes pollution" on this screaming new Internet thingmy they invented after the early 60s. Right after you were there, the signs went up. Coincidence? , -

Pattaya beach is filthy and full of rats

Mr Slices and Mr Tom, my semi-apologies, I wrote all of the following before I came to your posts making similar points: dontcha, you have got to stop taking personally every comment on one of your threads in this forum. You'll go nuts. But since YOU absolutely insist on veering this thread another direction: How many Irish blue beaches lost their status last year? Also, do you have any idea how many beaches there are in Thailand? 75 beaches? haha, I mock your 75 blue beaches and raise you at least 200 more. Pattaya beach is almost always a polluted disgrace. It's more a testament to the problem of over-touristing a place, any place at all, any country at all, than to the bloody Russians or the kawdam Thais. Yes, more tourists should pick up their stuff, and yes, the City Hall should resume their once-a-day beach raking, no doubt. But if you look at YOUR photos, an awful lot of that stuff washed up, no one dropped it or left it behind. ONE of the problems of Pattaya beach compared with many other beaches is its exact location for being the place where ALL the crap from miles and miles around washes up. If every Russian and every vendor scrupulously AND every Tom, Dick and jacko cleaned HIS garbage (which not all of them do, as jacko reports), Pattaya beach would be filthy. Almost all beaches in Thailand are very clean, bluer than blue. Pattaya and about a dozen others are horrible. But it's not the people per se, it's the NUMBER of people. It's not possible to put hundreds of people in hundreds of square metres anywhere on Earth, without a huge mess. Just look at what's left behind at any outdoor concert or picnic day at the park in your precious Ireland. But obviously you are lols So why did you channel him that he was also discussing Spain? . -

Plus, it's a scientific fact that greenhouse gases focus right in on Chon Buri province, Thailand. . -
Yep. Beside the tinned red salmon. .

You didn't quote me excusing poor standards because you couldn't. You're fantasising. I don't excuse poor standards OR blaming the foreigners for those poor standards. I reckon you're fantasising. He made no such comparison. I reckon he didn't mention Spain or anywhere else except Pattaya. Why do you reckon he meant Spain? That's so weird I'm actually interested. . -
Norplant is/was not at all popular, ever. Birth control pills are $1 a month, and over the counter - THAT is popular. Pretty well all scars on the shoulder are inoculation scars. .
-
I'm not sure how "should not" has anything to do with it. The scars on the (almost always left) shoulders of the TG are smallpox vaccination. Whatever they should be, that is what they actually are. .

This is Venice-Marina Del Ray. I guess that big Thai population there has joined the Russian and Indian communities to do this. Shame on THEM, bloody foreigners. . -

Bloody foreigners. Here's another example of bloody filthy foreigners. The beach at.... ... Bangor, County Down No kidding. It's as bad as this one at Portrush. . -
Exactly Mr Hawaii. It's the old-style smallpox inoculation - sort of a scratch thing, not a real jab. I don't think it is infected, per se, that's the way smallpox was done until very recently - and still is in some clinics. .

Or just lots of guys and gals who like to eat "real" seafood. It's darned expensive. One of the three or four reasons that farmed stuff is taking over the market pretty much for anything that swims, sea or fresh water alike. The "real" stuff will cost you. .

I can never understand this approach. If you really want something on your holidays, go get it. Now you'll be lying on your death bed one day in the far, far future and your last thought will be, "I still have $250. I should have had the lobster." .

Beware of freelance stunners
joekicker replied to freeman69's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Can't argue with that, but it does happen and watching out for "two stunners on a moto" is not bad advice among all the other advice. . -
An Englishman, a Scotsman, an Irishman, a Latvian, a Turk, an Aussie, a Yank, an Egyptian, a Japanese, a Mexican, a Spaniard, a Greek, a Russian, an Estonian, a German, an Italian, a Pole, a Lithuanian, a Swede, a Finn, an Israeli, a Romanian, a Bulgarian, a Serb, a Czech, and a Swiss man go to a pub. The bouncer says, "Sorry. I can't let you in ...... ...... without a Thai." .

April - Who is about ? Weather ?
joekicker replied to soi pig's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Distinct improvement (so far) over last year. I appreciate your intervention. Rain is far superior to that overwhelming heat of last year, almost made me a believer in global warming, that. It DOES rain in March and April. In fact, the single-day record for rain in Bangkok is in April, around 1986 something like that. . -

You say that because.... why? Thing is that this well-known old scam is worked by katoey about, well 100 per cent of the time. If you got REAL girls that would be so rare it'd be very notable. So, you say that because... why? . -
I believe you are comparing DVDs to CDs. A DVD full of various programs is going to be mostly junk for most people, most of the time. A CD is a focussed program, very often - although it may be a much smaller collection than a DVD, with more you want and less you don't. Going to Bangkok for software is a full-day trip. To save how much, counting transportation? And a short-time with a Sukhumvit girl (after you've dropped a red one to get there from Pantip) will be more than in Pattaya, too. All in all, "to save money on software" is a lousy and probably money-LOSING reason to go to Bangkok from... well, anywhere, really, except Bangkok. .

Stuff happens in Thailand, but a motorway coach will pretty well always go on the motorway, and not deviate from the route at all. They may well stop ON the route, but they won't go off it. .

Or capitalism. Or superstition. Or hi-so. In the west (and of course in the east) people pay big money for licence plates that are "lucky". Yeah, right, of COURSE you get lucky with a "better" licence plate number, right? Right? Those dumb Thais and their stupid lucky phone numbers that are easier to remember. Dumb, eh? What the market will bear. Take a walk through one of the malls with a lot of phone sellers, and you'll see lists of numbers for sale, almost always with price lists. .

In what way is it dishonest for a seller to sell an item for much more than (s)he paid for it - even infinitely more as, say, Amazon or Warner Music charge for digital books and music they literally pay nothing to make? Why is this dishonest? Nonsense. Thais cannot afford to eat at Sizzlers or MK. We have established that beyond doubt. By the way: What speakers did you buy? .

The Ekamai air-con coaches are one-stop to Pattaya if they say "Pattaya" on them. The one stop is the coach yard just after the start of the Bangna-Trat highway. They do NOT stop to pick up people roadside. .
