Another thing that's certain, which I meant to put above and forgot - On their record, they are much better than the Giants right now. .
-
The Jets, Nets and Mets -- not to mention Isles and Devils. In a lot of ways you're right, but (forget the Nets) there's a lot of teams outside New York area that wouldn't mind having the fan base and passion of any of these. The media attention, yes -- but Jets tickets aren't any easier or cheaper than Giants. .

Yes. I'd say most Thais tip more than most farang in Thailand. Just my own observation, though. .
-
How much did you lose? But no, they certainly aren't the worst team ever. There are teams plural that never even won a Super Bowl. .

Strictly speaking, as the daughter of a Thai citizen, she is Thai. Technically speaking, you can sure make a case she's not. However, my point is only that there are Thai porn "stars". Although strictly speaking almost all porn stars including Thai ones aren't really stars in any accepted sense of the word like, say, Tiger Woods or Johnny Damon are stars - who, strictly speaking, are Thai but don't want to carry the papers. Khun Nat is fully Thai, though, strictly and technically. .

I'll secon... thir.... er, confirm all of the above. Cobra Gold time at its very, very busiest is barely seen in Pattaya, and then only if you're looking for it. If you can't get chicks during Cobra Gold, then you can't get them ever. .

Yes, it's a question of papers, papers, papers, and I don't know the motorcycle rules, or if they are different from a car, for that matter. You will almost certainly need ownership, insurance and that "passport" mentioned above for starters. Please check with the Cambodian Embassy 02-205-4049 . -
There are many Thai porn "stars". Best known (and richest) is probably Tera Patrick. Best known inside Thailand is probably "Nong Natt" aka Natt Chanapa aka Maya, real name Kesarin Chaichalermpol. She got a six-month suspended jail sentence when one of her films became a little too well known. .

Why you may think Thais are stupid
joekicker replied to PattayaPete's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Heh. I wonder how many readers, JUST before they began reading this thread, thought there were 52 weeks in a year. Was that thick? Almost everyone I know including the guy in the mirror rounds off "how many weeks in a month" to four. Is that thick? There's a favourite "gotcha" list of questions that does the go-round. One of the questions is "How many months have 28 days?" An awful lot of people answer "one". Is that thick? It's not the question, it's how its phrased. . -
Aye, you must be a Newfie by. .

Another thing I have long noticed is that a Canadian can pick up another [central] Canadian from 50 yards away in a packed party room, but everyone else thinks he's American -- even after they're told. Of COURSE Canadians don't have accents -- right, Doug McKenzie? .

Thai Cops to Crack Down on Foreign Gangs
joekicker replied to Evil Penevil's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
And people try to weasel the name of the melon to "phak" too instead of what it "should" be which is "fuk". We've discussed this in the past in the forum, but converting Thai to English is a mug's game - it's never right, but it's also never wrong. I have a few favourites, such as the "correct" way to spell the infamous street is actually "Phatpongse" and "khlong" for "klong" always grates on me. The new "official" spelling of Don Mueang airport is crazy - my opinion - but finally after 100 years gets it right in others' opinions. People's names should be up to them, but even though there is an official book by an official language-protection group called Ratcha Bandit (pronounced "bahnd", no "it" sound) it's all up for grabs. One of my other all-time favourities was a former defence minister. The two top English newspapers spelt his name this way, and both are "correct": Tavich, Dewitt. . -
In Bangkok all of them. I'm not sure in Ban Nok, but I agree that a lot of them would be. .

Thai Cops to Crack Down on Foreign Gangs
joekicker replied to Evil Penevil's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I agree "Toy" is horrible. Usually in the press and so on, it's Toey with a why, not Toei with an eye. But it's not enforceable after all. The actual real Klong Toey district office disagrees with both of us for what it's worth: . -
That's interesting. I wonder if that's a new "feature"? hmmm Anyhow. Just don't park that huge brick behind me, then. (I'm the tan-on-brown hulking Ford SUV that looks menacing as it backs up towards your driver's side door because you parked it in gear and I can't move it.... easily.) Thanks. .

If you are coming IN to Thailand with more than $20,000 (alone or in a family/similar group), you have to declare it. Declaring this isn't a big deal, but it's a really big deal if you should declare and you don't and you're caught. Coming IN to Thailand, you never know if you'll be searched. I believe I'd declare, but as always up to you. .
-
In the US for sure, and I believe in the UK they can't do walk-in business for ordinary accounts. Even if you have an account in Thailand, they won't talk to you. It's for Big Business. .
-
Technically, you have to declare that cheque at most customs posts, including Thailand. It is a money instrument, more than $10,000.
-
I wouldn't robot-deposit a foreign cheque, even a smaller one. The good news is that no one else can do much of anything with it, either (such as cash it or usefully deposit it), so just do the normal lock-up you do for your stuff and it should be fine until Monday. .

pattaya bar girl meet-ups
joekicker replied to iamaonion's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Differences here between speaking and "on paper". I've known quite a few ejumacated Thais who can read and write with the best of us here, but can't speak English for beans - it's all book-learning and vocab lists and grammar. As you say, the Pattaya gals (for example) get lots of chance for immersion, and many can speak/understand quite well, but can't read/write for beans. There are many other forces at work of course - foreign trips, movies (in Bangkok, almost exclusively in English), radio/TV and popular enterainment/songs among others. . -
Well... twice. .

pattaya bar girl meet-ups
joekicker replied to iamaonion's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
And I stated the OP asked for a forum and I advised him there wasn't one. What's the problem? I'm the guy who added more details to the post about Camfrog, the service where the Thai gal committed suicide online. . -
Saloon Bar. Fabulous bar, with bucking bull, Lam Morrison and more. I wonder whatever happened to that place. .

joekicker replied to iamaonion's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
There are all kinds of Thais online 24/7, and yes, Camfrog is a pretty popular service, but there are lots of others from Facebook to Adult Friend Finder. The OP asked for an open forum and there isn't one. . -
I agree about the Cole (and Fort Hood). I disagree about Timor. As I said, Timor was a policy. I've never been comfortable with "state terrorism" but if it exists it has to be random. I think there's a hair's difference between cowing a population and terrorising it -- but I think it's a useful difference. "Legal terrorism" and "non-state terrorism" maybe. Defining terrorism isn't simple, but that's not to say that one man's terror is another man's fight for freedom either. Pol Pot wasn't a terrorist, he was a national leader, that's my take. Or Stalin, Mao or the lot of them. .
