  1. Generally, Pattaya bars are "requested" to close for Maka Bucha, and the "request" comes about one day before the actual holiday. Closure is the way to bet, but you just never know for sure. .
  2. Whoa, that is an awful lot of program to be loading just to blur faces. A heck of a good replacement for Photoshop, but for a simple job? .
  3. IrfanView is very simple. But you know, Microsoft Paint will do fine. Anything with a Blur tool, just blur the face. .

  5. Not unusual. They're hiding it perhaps - OR maybe it's in your prefetch. You can safely do this - it won't do any harm and once in a while it's a good thing to do anyhow: Go to C:\Windows\prefetch Delete everything. Yep, everything. Windows will put back the stuff that should be there. A little housecleaning of prefetch is a Good Thing every so often, and it will certainly get rid of any iMesh stuff that's lingering on. .
  6. Curious way to put it. Do you consider private cars to be unsafe? More unsafe than buses? Personally, I don't, but do go on. .
  7. Yes, or an airport limo or similar -- a private car. Hiking to a train, transferring to a bus and waiting for both, is *a* way to get to Pattaya. It's neither fastest nor most comfortable nor, I will add, most convenient. .
  8. There are a bunch of programs like this scum. Quick death to their developers and spreaders is too kind. I hope a few million more people do as well as you, good on ya! .
  9. Quite possibly. But keep a close eye for a few days. Also, check to see that it is not auto-starting. Hit Ctrl-R (run) and run "MSCONFIG". Click the Startup Tab. Look very carefully through all the ticked boxes to see if one of them is iMesh or something suspicious. Also, for fun, hit Ctrl-R and run REGEDIT. Click Edit, then Find, and search for imesh, just to see if it comes up with anything. If it does, just delete (yes, delete) that key. .
  10. This is a real POS program, in my opinion just malware/spyware. You'll need some help. But for one thing make sure the entire installation folder gets taken out, among other things. This horrible program may track you for days before you succeed. Step 1, have a look here. Step 2, google "imesh remove" for further hints. Or "imesh remove XP" of course. .
  11. I don't buy this xrap but it's impossible to prove or refute, it's just a religious belief and I'm an aetheist. My "they" was the Thai central bank and government and I had presumed it was also Patsy's "they". .
  12. Thailand just put the price of rice up, because there is a worldwide food problem, including food riots this week in Algeria (where they eat rice). Plus, rice is a relatively small part of total Thai exports. I'd like to have a piece of it, don't get me wrong, but all in all it's just a brick in the export wall. Example: last year, Thailand exported one million cars, pickups and trucks. And rice is just a part of massive agricultural exports, such as Thailand being the world's biggest exporter of processed chicken. In any case, no matter what is up on white rice mountain (that's a pun, son), "they" cannot devalue or revalue or set the baht rate in any manner, and "they" have stated they do not intend to try. The last time they tried, in 1997, the country and most of East Asia went broke in a few days. Thailand certainly cannot set a rate for the baht and live with it for more than a few hours - the free market will bring down the country. The Bank of Thailand buys and sells baht and dollars and other currency to "cushion" the RATE at which the baht rises and falls, to try to smooth out sudden changes. However, there's not a smidgen of evidence anyone has tried to actually establish a baht rate for the past 13-plus years. .
  13. I grew up being told over and over that English people were polite. I even used to believe it. ITEM As a Broncos watcher, I am confident that Cutler will throw the interception exactly when the other team requires it. He always has. .
  14. Hold on here! I thought sunlight to Earth was all directed through Philip Rivers??? And he's going to fall in his very first game? What's up with that? A lot of underestimating of Atlanta in this thread, methinks. .
  15. Yes and yes. I'll say one thing for Rafferty and McLean - they didn't HAVE to go to work every effing day and do the same thing all over again. I presume, with the money they had, they actually, truly enjoyed it - otherwise why do it? And good for them to be dedicated like that. .
  16. Market's closed. There's a little pub on Sala Daeng I, right across Rama IV from the park. .
  17. Yes, it was his riff entirely, and he recorded it himself on the demo. Obviously, he couldn't play four instruments at the same time at shows and indeed, he did not play the sax on the released version we all hear. He was by all accounts a dreadful alcoholic and his "long illness" seems to have been spent pretty much without a liver. Just read a great description of that riff, heh: Ba baba baba Booey .
  18. Baker Street has one of the great riffs of all music. And I've often wondered what it must have been like to be Rafferty and have to do that riff every night, every single night for all of his life, over and over and over - plus hundreds and hundreds of rehearsals. He had several fabulous songs - and he played them, and pretty well only them, every single night of his life. .
  19. You must have missed American's Home Videos or something like that, which is a weekly show of FAIL that has been going for about ... many years without having to repeat anything. Of all the things you can't blame Americans for, covering up their FAILS is maybe the top one. FAIL (FAILS) is the top banned word of 2011 by the way.. .
  20. Appreciate the heads-up. I'll keep an eye for your sports posts. .
  21. My head says Brady, my adrenaline says Atlanta and my heart says Philly. If Vick won it, it would be he biggest comeback in football history - which is not a bad thing at all to see in your lifetime. My darkhorse is Baltimore, I guess - but they are very banged up. .
  22. Two items there, pretty much mutually exclusive. mykl hit the nail directly on the head (thereby bypassing macky entirely) - everyone here is convinced he "talks straight", no exceptions. macky: "hitting the nail on the head" means straight talking, directly to the point. You're welcome. pastry's proposed rule of being able to read and write English is also a little harsh, surely. .
  23. But that's not what it says. I hope not. It is one of the reasonably important jobs of ANY embassy of EVERY country to push its national companies and their products. It is what a "trade attache" does, even American ones. That's why even the EU, for example, has a trade office in Bangkok - PLUS every country in the EU has a trade attache in Bangkok. I'm sort of surprised that this is "news" - slow New Year holiday, I'd guess. .
  24. ... or else? You're going to be the only judge so: Or else what? .
  25. Arrrgh! Off to the optometrist, I guess. Yes, Appspot.com is owned by Google. .
