I used the Magna Carta when I purchased my condo this past Dec and had no complaints. Tony (justtony on the board) is not a lawyer. He's from England and has lived here for quite awhile. He works at the Magna Carta as a liason to help falangs communicate with Thai lawyers.

Accomodation - Flipper House Hotel
Emil replied to osti25's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Also Flipper House has an old wing, a newer wing and another wing that operned last year. Also not sure about the Sunshine being quiet. they just recently cleared the area on the west side and looks like heavy construction will begin soon. I heard a rumor that it will be a new wing to the Sunshine. -
Has anyone flown in Business class with flat bed seats?
Emil replied to bigdelta's topic in Airline Discussion
Martin if I fly UA on the 747's they have the new business seats, as of last month on the 777's they still have the old business seats. -
Just a short walk down the soi toward the beach is a bar referred to as the no name bar as it doesn't have a name. Pop in and check out the talent. Some highly skilled and decect looking TG's hang out there if they're not all gone to Switzerland and Hong Kong at the moment.

I would never take a picture of someone who I didn't know as the primary or centeral feature of the photo. But what about when one takes a photo of something interesting to show their friends and some individual is in the background like out on the street. Am I suspposed to delete the photo because this person doesn't want to be seen?

9K is not ridiculous unless they are cheating him on the readings. A few years back I rented a place at 7500 a month plus utilities. My largest electric bill was about 800 baht for the month at 8 baht a unit. Last year I know a guy who stayed at the same place and at the same 8 baht rate and he had a 7500 electirc bill. The difference is that since I'm from the Sacramento valley I'm use to temps reaching 105 while he's from San Francisco where they complain if temps get to 90 so he ran the AC all the time. Its all about useage. What you charge is competitive with what I've seen of all inclusive rates. Its a good deal for someone who needs the AC on all the time but for me it wouldn't be a good deal. Do you think you could continue with those rates if all your guests ran the AC 24 hours a day? This past Dec I bought a condo and the electric rate is around 3.4 baht a unit directly from the electric company. TGF and I moved in on Dec 10th and then I left for the states on the 20th. When I came back early Jan I hadn't received my electric bill as they bill on the 1st of the month. Was surprised to hear that if my bill is under 300 baht the Thai governemnt picks up the bill, never had the US government or California pay my electric bill. Nice but what was even better is when I closed on the condo I found out that the 55K transfer fee that I expected to pay was waived by the Thai government and all I had to pay was 2,500 baht to the land office.

I helped a freind get his retirement visa this past May. He entered LOS and got the 30 day stamp at BKK, before that expired he went to the US embassy and got his form stating his income was over 65k baht a month, (no proof needed) and then went to Jomtien Immigration and got the retirement visa. The same thing that I did back in 2006, the only difference was that I had to pay 2000 baht for the non immigrant O visa and have it stamped into my passport and then 10 second later stamped used before I preceeded on to the retirement visa desk. My friend just had to pay 3900 baht at the retirement visa desk so they stremlined the process but still collected the same amount of baht.

I'm using a savers award flying out of SMF thru SFO this 4th of July. Booked it back around the end of March. This year I'm 1K status but for the past 6 years I was premier executive and didn't have trouble getting saver awards as long as I booked the summer trips in late winter or early spring. However when booking those trips I paid the additional $$$ and booked through a UA reservation agent as they have access to the Star Alliance carriers while booking online I believe only gives you the UA flights. I've had about 15 saver awards to LOS and only 2 of those did I fly all legs on UA. On the others I've had legs on Singapore, Thai, ANA and Air Canada. I didn't experience any long layovers and my arrival times were about the same except when I flew on Singapore the entire trip and on the flight I left the US late at night and got into BKK around noon. Talking to a UA agent and they did tell me that they only have a couple seats designitaed on each UA flight for saver awards for premier executive and a couple extra for 1K members.

When you turn 50 you won't have to fly to Laos so you can add more feathers to the bike. -
Cheapest Hotels in Pattaya
Emil replied to commoncute1979's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I had all of that plus a kitchen area for 7500 a month. I did have to pay water and electric which ran about another 1k. -
I wish they would ban backpacks. Almost every segment I fly I get bang by a packpack as I sent in an aisle seat and many of those with packpacks don't realize that when they turn their body the backpack stick out and will wack anyone in its path.

I fly with United and once I've cleared customs United has a recheck area nearby. I'm sure jacko would have some comments with Changi's security check process.

I've been using Mr T for a couple years along with many of my friends and have never had a problem. Cost is 1000 baht from airport to Pattaya and 900 from Pattaya to the airport. All tolls and parking included in those fees. Email: mr_ttaxi@hotmail.com

I also prefer the personal contact and when I book a trip going from Pattaya to BKK I always pop in at their office and talk to a person. You haven't used them for awhile as their fare went up back in 2008.

Martin shortly after you bought FLB you scolded me (I didn't receive a warning) for a post I made in the Open Forum. I think it was in the Hotel area and I casually made a reference to a bar. My reply was that I thought the spirit of the "No bar or bargirl discussion here please" rule was no graphic photos or details description about BG escapades in the Open Forum. You told me no exceptions, I disagreed but complied as your the Big Boss. I just noticed today (don't know how long it been this way) when I made a reply to Pattaya Pete's topic regarding the reverse barfine at PBG, that Bars are now in the Open Forum. You might want to remove the no bar from the "No bar or bargirl discussion here please". Good to see that you came around to my way of thinking. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Pattaya Beer Garden introduces Bar Fines
Emil replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
The positive if that happens is that the FL is happy and will return after your finished with her also she may tell her friends about her good luck and they will show up looking for customers. More FLs hanging around the place then more customers in seats looking even if their is no longer a promotion going on. I think most guys would prefer going to a bar where there is no BF or marked up prices for L/Ds than one that does. The key is getting the FLs into the place and once there they need to hook up with customers so that they will continue to hang out at the PBG. Pete you ought to look into leasing some of that space above you and put in some nice S/T type of rooms. If the TK Resort can make a go of it out in the boomdocks near Soi AR with the higher traffic around Walking St one would think it would be successful unless the lease is outrageous. -
There are numerous guesthouses/apartments along Soi Buakaow and the small sois off of Pattayaklang, and Pattaya Tai. They don't have websites nor have they been posted on this forum. The places that I've stayed since my first trip to Pattaya were discovered by me while on foot.
-
I think what you have to offer and how well its marketed is important. Heaven Above is up staris and is in an area saturated with other go-gos and appears to be doing well. Secret's opened in an area off Walking St and also seems successful.
-
The nicest place that I've seen for around 700 baht a night (weekly rate of 5K) is the recently opened KTK hotel on Soi AR near Nova Park. Swimming pool, in room safe and wifi. They also have larger rooms.
-
You should also check out Siam View Residence on soi AR near Nova Park. I think the monthly rate was 12k. Has free wifi, rooftop pool and lift.
-
but then you would have to add in additional transportation costs.
-
You don't have to get a condo for your stay. Many of those guesthouses in the Soi LK area offer monthly rates which are around 10K a month. You do have to pay for your water/electric useage and you'll get reduced cleaning or none at all, but you said you'll have a TGF living with you so she would keep the place clean. Until recently I stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which cost 12K a month (I paid 11K becasue it was for a year) and was located near Nova Park. I suggest that you get a cheap place at a daily rate for your first few days and look around.

I posted on this change back in early January as I got the same reply from Mr T when I booked his service for a 6th of January pickup. His office is still located across from the Areca.

As you enter the main enterance at the complex where Carrefour is located they have a price list on the right hand side of what the taxi service will charge to the various areas. First check with Carrefour information to see if they will deliver for free to the Jomtien area. Also if your buying booze they do not sell between the hours of 2 and 5 PM.
