What I'd like to see is a car rental place that rents the car and a driver and the driver is their employee and a wreck is their problem so you can squire around with someone who knows how to get from A to B and ideally less than hiring a cab or limo by the day. I have rented cars with provided drivers in Central America and Chile this way because of the assignment of risk to the driver , more so for a gringo driver and it was far less than hiring a taxi and a better car to boot. I hope Mr. T's driver knows Pattaya well enough to find various ways around towards RG. Maybe RG is a good choice for the first few days away from mayhem assuming he can get me there.

I arrive the 17th at 1030 at BKK , what's the opinion on how bad the first day will be? Do you think Mr. T's drivers know detours around the congestion to where RG is? With fast track at BKK I could be on the road by 11 am. But it is Sunday which portends to be popular.

What bank is close to Residence Garden for an ATM, and what decent exchange house? Or are banks OK for this as well?
