I was curious what the magic vapor was so did a quick search and learned it's acetone vapor. From what I read it clears the lens, but in the process removes the UV protection. As a final step you would need to add a UV clear coat.

Loading photos onto the site

I agree, Picasa was easy to use and was disappointed when Google gobbled them up and merged it into Google Photos. As for linking to Google Photos on this forum, from what I've read Google doesn't support that feature. For that reason, plus I don't like the file structure of Google Photos, I moved to Flickr. -
Pattayatalk.com not resolving
forcebwithu replied to Butch's topic in Technical problems or questions.
The URL is forums.pattayatalk.com, thus the reason you're getting server not responding, or in my case when I tried just pattayatalk.com, the site can't be reached. -
Disabled lane / path - A new one for me..........
forcebwithu replied to stoace's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Soi behind Big C Extra going from Klang to Pattaya Nua has the same wheelchair footpath. Probably put in b/c Father Ray Foundation, a school and home for the disabled, is on that Soi. I frequently see wheelchair bound children and young adults using, or trying to use that footpath. You would think the selfish bastards that park on the footpath would get a clue when they see kids in a wheelchair having to use the street because of their selfishness. Worst example though is up closer to Pattaya Nua. Trust Residence has been using the footpath for overflow parking ever since the path was -

Working on the open sewer today. Thought the steel panels would be used for retaining walls, but that doesn't look to be the case. From next to Adelphi Hotel, Buakhao Soi 19. Construction site 3rd Rd near Klang. -

They've constructed a nice park at the NE end of Huai Chak Nok reservoir. Unique style pedestrian bridge. Picnic table icon is the park location. -

Work going on to reinforce the point on the north end with caged rip rap. No cracks yet in the concrete pad at the Klang intersection. Typical Thai pride in workmanship, couldn't even be arsed with trimming the excess plastic off. -

No progress on the open sewer, other than dropping off a load of steel for retaining walls. Backyard of Nirun condo still a garbage dump Clearing the jungle from the front yard though -

From yesterday at the Klang intersection... Now looks like this. It'll be interesting to see how many days the concrete takes to start cracking. -

7th Heaven location will soon be reincarnated as a very small agogo. The soi next to Easy Corner Bar is now an open sewer. And on the soi next to the Buffalo Bar a swanky, new Thai restaurant will soon be opening. -

Concrete pad going in today across from A One Hotel using the rebar on top of cling film method. Got lucky today and got a pic of them taking samples for strength testing. Is it normal to get nine samples from one load? Across from Soi 5. And at the Klang intersection. Can't believe they intend to pour concrete over the rebar in this section. Even w/o the rebar there won't be enough depth to the concrete for it to last long. -

Always good to see Pattaya of old pics. Earliest pics I have are from my first trip in 2008. Here's one from Loy Krathong that year. They used to have a stage set up at the entrance to WS for the Loy Krathong traditional dance. And here's a pic of the "Hilton waterfall" from Oct, 2013. Can't remember how many times they repaired that section only to have it wash out in the next heavy rain. -

Cementing in the pad on the north end. What's interesting to note is one of the pads they put the rebar on top of a layer of cement. For this pad and a couple of others they're putting the rebar on top of the plastic membrane. Not sure which method is best, but you would think the project manager would use the same method on each pad. Using a front end mover to move cement from the truck to the pad is a lot easier than humping it by wheelbarrow. How considerate, they're putting up short time tents on the beach. -
Thanks for the reminder about the series. Just downloaded season 3 and now binge watching it. Great series! Did a quick search and see they've announced the series has been renewed, but no release date yet. https://www.radiotimes.com/news/on-demand/2019-02-22/the-last-kingdom-season-4-netflix-release-date-cast-trailer/

The Pattaya Beach Reclamation

There has been some speculation as to the purpose of these structures. One has now been filled in with concrete. Looks to me like a nice ankle twister if you're not paying attention when you step off the pavement and onto the sand. Other than a source for broken ankles, I still don't know what they hope to accomplish with these structures. It's certainly not going to do anything to help control erosion during heavy rains, if that's what they had in mind. -

Beer bar complexes, names and locations.
forcebwithu replied to Butch's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
@Butch, glad to have been of some help. Good to see you were able to create and post a map. I've edited the title of my map to "Test Map" so there is no confusion with your up to date map. Suggestion, if you don't have edit rights to your first post you might want to have one of the mods copy the map code into your first post. That way it saves those opening the topic for the first time the delay of scrolling through posts to see the map. BTW, JP Bar is no more. It went under the wrecking ball a few months back. Saw pics of its demise on another forum. -

^^^ If you would rather not delve into the world of editing and maintaining Google Maps, I can handle that task as I expect the addition of new or closed beer complexes will be few and far between. -

It's easy to do, but involves a few steps that at first sight might seem daunting. Once you've done it once though it's not hard to do again. Here are the steps to do so using the addition of Soi Diana beer bars as an example. Note that for you to be able to perform these steps you would need edit access to the map I created. Assuming you have a gmail account, if you PM that account name I can grant you edit rights to the map I created, or you can create a new map under your own account. To add a new marker to an existing map: Open the saved Google Map. Navigate to the -

Is this what you'd like to see @Butch? Each bar complex is identified with the beer icon. Click on the icon to see the name, or click on the icon in the upper left corner of the map to see a clickable list of all the complexes. Edited to remove sample test map to avoid confusion with Butch's up to date map. -
Bike Paths & Routes Around Pattaya
forcebwithu replied to forcebwithu's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
In this post I mentioned plans to extend the park bike path around the Mabprachan reservoir. I'm happy to report the work to do just that is now underway. I had a nice ride around the reservoir this morning to check on the progress. Pictures start at the north end go clockwise around the reservoir. Looks like they've also started work on extending the park to the north. Inside the park is the future connection to the north end of the extended bike path. There will also be what looks to be a walkway extension into the expanded park to the north.
