  1. Two days ago I registered my Truemove H SIM. I was told that I would get an SMS from True confirming the registration. I didn't get any SMS message. Today I dialed *151#. I got a message in Thai and had my wife look at it. She said the number wasn't registered. I then called 1331 and asked True if my card was registered or not. They assured me that it was registered. It had been working fine so I was sure that something had happened. TIT.
  2. Yesterday when I registered my Truemove H SIM card, I gave them my Thai driver's license and my passport. The guy handed my passport back to me and said the driver's license is enough
  3. I went in today and registered the Truemove SIM card that is my normal main number. It is now working properly. I was surprised that our small city had a True shop. It has been open about three weeks. They charged me 10 baht to register the card. The other Truemove SIM is still fucked up. Using it to call my main SIM, it shows two different numbers. Why is that? The next time I go in, I will register that one also. Everything was working fine until the government got involved. My wife registered the AIS and Dtac cards for me. It appears that they are also working. property. I don't normally us
  4. All I can tell you for sure is that only one of my phones work. I have Dtac, and two Truemove SIM cards. They have stopped working in both my smartphones. My old Nokia with an AIS SIM still works. I think AIS has not gotten around to blocking that one, YET. I was very irritated because my dual SIM smartphone could call but not receive calls. I had thought it was the phone so I did a factory reset and had to setup the phone again. I am using 19 different apps and had to download all of them again. It WASN'T the phone.
  5. I can make calls to a registered SIM but can't receive any calls unless the number that calls me is also registered. I have three phones and none of the SIM cards are registered. Trying to call one phone from another gets me a recording saying I cannot connect to that number. I had thought that my SIM cards would not let me receive any calls. That was wrong, a friend called me and it came through. He told me that his SIM was registered.
  6. Seattle had plenty of time for a run play and even if they lost yardage, that would have been better for a pass play on the next down. On the one yard line, players are all stacked up and the chance of a successful pass were 50/50 or less. Odds were that someone would catch the ball. You have to accept the fact that it was a very stupid play. Lots of guts and no common sense..I had no dog in this fight and really didn't care who won.
  7. The Thai government at work; Both my True numbers and my Dtac numbers won't work. AIS still works. Maybe they haven't gotten around to stopping that number yet. What a bunch of bullshit !!
  8. It's every pilots nightmare that something would fail on takeoff. Simply no time to fix the problem. RIP.
  9. It is very strange that both engines failed. Hopefully they will be able to come up with a reason why. Sounds like a fuel problem, maybe water or the wrong fuel.
  10. If the pass play would have worked, everyone would be calling it a brilliant play. I personally think it was one of the worst calls I have ever seen especially in the biggest game of the year. They have the best most powerful running back in the NFL. If they would have run the ball, they had three chances to make one yard. YES, stupid indeed.
  11. At this point, I have five SIM cards. One CAT for just the internet, two True, one for my everyday use and the other in my spare phone. A Dtac in my emergency phone and an AIS in yet another phone that my wife insisted that I have because she can then call me for free from her AIS phone. Probably like many other people, I have thrown away many SIM cards mostly because the expired. The last one I threw away was an AIS number that WAS registered years ago. AIS had screwed me twice using that number and it was easier to dispose of the SIM and just get another. Not to go into too much detail,
  12. Garmin offers their own Thailand map and I can tell you that I wasted a hundred dollars buying it. It sucks and the ESRI map is cheaper and way better. Eagle GPS is managed by a farang who is a real stand up guy. Morris helps in any way he can. If you expect any support for your Garmin, Morris is the right guy to buy from. ADDED - The model you are looking at, 2567LM has free lifetime maps. ESRI updates their maps frequently.
  13. This appears to be a typical Thai snafu. I happened to be in Khon Kaen for a couple of days. Tukcom is across the street from the Kosa hotel where I stayed. I went to the True office to register my SIM. The girls working there had no idea what I was talking about. They looked at me like I was from Mars.
  14. I'm quite disappointed that these con men are able to continue to stay out of jail. I had naively thought that since the military coup the people protecting these thieves would have lost their positions of absolute power. Obviously that has not happened. Will karma eventually take care of the problem?
  15. I used to buy the large translucent plastic bottles of water. I took the seal off one and thought I saw something inside the bottle. I poured out a liter pitcher of water and there were mosquito larvae swimming around. I'll stick to the reverse osmosis machine water.
  16. They have those machines at my Jomtien condo. I haven't bought any drinking water there since they put the machines in. I'm satisfied that that water is pure and totally tasteless. One baht per liter seems like a bargain. I had a bottle of it sitting in the light for two months and no algae, settling or odor.
  17. This complex is located on the other end of Jomtien. The road is named Soi Chaiyapruk. No, not a gay area.
  18. This unit is obviously in the Ban Suan Lalana complex. I have a 60 square meter corner unit. I'm not aware of any units that are 44 square meters. As far as I know all the studios are 40 square meters and the corner units are 60 square meters. As far as the cooking area, I have a microwave, a hot plate and an electric skillet. An electric stove top could be installed but I have never seen the need for one. Gas bottles are not permitted in any unit, so no gas hobs.
  19. I MUCH prefer the 100 percent natural Thai look. Long shiny black hair, no piercings, no false eyelashes and dark eyes, Fake eyelashes, contact lenses, piercings and funny colored hair are a turn off for me. I just don't like beautiful Asian women trying to look like western models. I guess that Thai men like super white, tall blondes, even if they look phony.
  20. None of the new Garmins can play my Audible books. For that reason, I plan on buying the cheapest unit available. That would be this one; http://www.eaglegps.co.th/index.php/en/products/automotive-main-menu1/product/32-nuvi-42 For less than 3,000 baht, I don't see how you could go wrong. My Nuvi 855 is getting glitchy. Turns itself off once in a while and has some spots on the screen. It DOES play my Audible books so I am not anxious to retire it. Turning itself off doesn't sound like a big deal. BUT, The 855 has a removable battery. I have to take out the battery and put it back
  21. What really amazes me is that these obvious con-men are still alive. I would think that at least one of the people who have been scammed would take the matter in their own hands and deal with these guys with a bullet.
  22. My brother in law has a time share and he and my sister love it. He admits that with all the yearly fees that he could rent a decent hotel room but he says that he is assured of a very nice place and no hassles. It's not a scheme for Cheap Charlies because you will not save any money. I should add that he is a chemical engineer for BP and is quite well off. He says his time share company is a good one with properties all over the world. A couple years ago they stayed at one in Phuket.
  23. It all depends how you react to high pressure salesman. If you are weak you could get hurt financially.
  24. I think a one way beach road will work fine. The idiots will be able to drive at 120 KPH or faster rather than only 100 KPH. Unless the cops watch for idiot speeders, I think there will be far more fatalities.
  25. Smells very fishy to me. Yes, it smells like a time share scam.
