  1. A friend of mine snuck onto a golf course at night and screwed a girl on one of the greens. He still has the flag. Tells his wife he shot a hole-in-one on that hole. At least he doesn't lie to her.
  2. Sorry Joe, should have given you credit. You definitely called it.
  3. Denny you're such a good customer in that part of town they should have given you a police escort to anywhere you wanted to go. BTW, Blanche DuBois also depended upon the kindness of strangers (name that play/movie).
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf5-zsEYTsw...player_embedded I'm sure the Fulham fans are very proud.
  5. Congrats to UConn . Butler might be the Buffalo Bills of NCAA basketball: They can get to the big game, but can't win it.
  6. I think I'll go with Butler. I'm sure they don't want to lose the championship game two years in-a-row. Still, Kemba Walker is gonna be tough to stop. Hope it's a good game.
  7. Wow, no #1 seeds in the Final Four. Butler, VCU, UConn and Kentucky. Who'd a thunk? As for Kansas, what a choke job! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Agreed about Butler, they are a great story. How about VCU? Talk about great stories. In the past week they have toppled USC, Georgetown, and now #3 seed Purdue. Beating the Boilermakers by 18 points in Chicago (which is almost a home game for them), that's a really impressive accomplishment. So much for them not deserving to be in the tournament. Then there's Richmond, another high seed dancing into the Sweet 16. They have a long history of upsetting teams in the tournament, and I hope they can do it again against the "Gayhawks" on Friday. Go Spiders!!!
  9. With Pitt out my bracket is pretty worthless. What a strange way to end a game - two bad fouls in the final seconds. Coaches all over America were beating their foreheads after that one. Nice game with SDSU finally prevailing over Temple after double OT. Go Butler! I also wouldn't complain if the Illini stepped up and beat the Jayhawks.
  10. No one has posted about the NCAA tournament so far. There have been a couple of great games during the first couple of days. VCU, who almost everyone said did not deserve to be in the tournament, beat up on Georgetown today. Morehead State was the big upset yesterday, ending Louisville's tourney much earlier than expected and screwing up my bracket. My Missouri Tigers looked pathetic in their loss to Cincinnati yesterday. Now I sort of wish they hadn't even been invited. My Final Four is Ohio St, Purdue, Pitt, and UConn, with Ohio St winning it all. Any other coll
  11. In Pattaya it has to be Ziggy's on 2nd Rd between Sois 7 & 8. Staff was cool and I love the little bar, but the room was very seedy and well over-priced at about 600 baht. Picked up a girl who was just wandering drunk up Soi 7 at about 4AM. She was no prize, but sexy in an older, slutty kinda way. Doing her in that room was a priceless, seedy, low-rent experience. Almost rented a 180 baht room on Khao San Rd when I was in BKK in January. As SS said above, it was just a bed in a closet-sized room. Looked like the room where Leonardo DiCaprio stayed at the beginning of "The Beac
  12. An all-time favorite of mine Body Heat
  13. Love Marquee Bar . They used to have the girls dressed in flight attendant unis some nights. I noticed last week they had added extra tables. Good to see they're staying busy. Note to "other" bar owners - cheap beer will do that. The one next to LK Metropole used to be called PS Apartments. I stayed there many times in 2006. That's where I first met MM, playing pool in the bar in the wee hours one night. Then they turned the place into a real estate office. Glad to see it's a bar again. Adam's former cashier (Lai) just opened a bar in a new beer bar complex on Soi Bukow, a
  14. I'd say it was definitely a situation of losing face. What would most Western salesmen have done? They would have quickly shifted the focus off of the failure of the Thai speakers and encouraged him to buy the Chinese speakers. Afterall a sale is a sale. She refused to admit the Thai speakers weren't performing as well. She refused to back off on her claim that the Thai speakers were superior. Then she looked even more foolish by trying to sell him an over-priced charger. Epic sales fail. A Thai customer would have let her off the hook by ignoring her foolish behavior, giving her
  15. He was in the flashback at the very end.
  16. "Hello Newman" Jurassic Park
  17. Your picture is good, Joe, but nothing tops the actual video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wBgbAgcb28...feature=related Too bad for the bird, but that is an amazing piece of video. Also too bad for Randy as it looks like that pitch might have gone on to paint the outside corner for a strike.
  18. At least Randy Johnson's incident was an accident. Funny that a sport with so little action on the field is associated with so much violence that isn't related to the actual playing of the game.
  19. Thank you! 100% correct. Crazy Western thinking: Some guy orders a shake, gets his shake, then sees some of the staff also drinking a shake, and comes to the conclusion, "They're stealing my shake!!!" Maybe they just made some extra for themselves. As long as you're getting what you paid for, what they're drinking is none of your business. Crazy Thai thinking: They didn't correct the mistake because that would mean they'd have to admit they made a mistake, which Thais seem to have trouble doing. You are indeed expected to help them out and brush off the mist
  20. I was recently considering a move to BKK. A two-day visit cured me of that. If I had to choose between Pattaya and BKK it would be Pattaya all the way, but even Pattaya seems too Westernized to me now. Living outside the tourist centers has spoiled me. I agree with Stinky. I prefer a good sized city within a couple hour drive of Pattaya or BKK.
  21. First, if the owl was some sort of mascot, why was it allowed to fly around free during a match? Did it have a handler? Couldn't someone have put it in a cage or something? Second, why didn't they stop play and get the owl off the pitch before it got hit with the ball? It's not like it's a small hummingbird or something. It's a pretty big bird. Somebody had to see it land on the field. We know it wasn't because everybody was distracted by the thrilling soccer action going on at the time. Hell, the owl landing on the soccer field and then getting kicked was probably the most excit
