  1. Never stayed in either as I dont like the area, that's relevant isn't it ??
  2. seems the bigger companies have been pulling out and a few who have jumped onto the knock down price rents have jumped aboard a sinking ship, alas these guys are still trying to get silly prices for their cheap rubbish and you can see it wont last, I wonder what it will end up, probably a bunch of bars.
  3. Its likely that someone knew you had that amount (silly) money in your safe, its more unlikely a girl would go to this trouble if she didnt know what was inside, 100,00 baht in cash sounds like you were asking for trouble.
  4. Nice Island but surprisingly expensive for not being busy when I was there in June, I tried to do a deal or two for longer stays in a couple of resorts that were 25% full but they would not budge so I went back to Pattaya.
  5. I do normally stay there so I gotta say for me its as good as anything for the money in Pattaya, Canterbury Tales, as well as the banter with Dave and the lads its as good as it gets.
  6. Never eaten there but not a bad place for a beer & sometimes a tasty bird.
  7. Yes from Canterbury Tales, I am well into it and will give my critique soon but I can say I am enjoying it, I am sure it will do well once people hear about it, I know its on CT website and various other places so it will grow and grow.
  8. Here Here Jay, well said, I normally reply the same thing to these guys, your choice is to leave, I have never had any problems with the Police unless I am breaking the law.
  9. Its changed, little, everywhere changes, we change, but Pattaya, Great Is'nt it.
  10. A pal of mine is in town on 20th Dec for a few days from up country, I have given him your details, his name is Richard so you will know when he contacts you, I hope you can sort a room for him.
  11. I stayed here at Canterbury Tales Cafe in new C building 600 a night
  12. Just bought the book and highly entertaining, well worth the money, it will not go round my pals either as I have a tenancy to lose books this way.
  13. I had 3 days in 4C recently and it was all it looks in the photos, new, comfortable, only suggestion would be an easy chair as well.
  14. I stay in the soi Bauhkoa area and although my accommodation has no pool I spend a few days during my Hol's round a pool reading a good book between a few laps, all the above mentioned are user friendly, normally 100 baht a day, I like the Metrapole soi Diana set up as you pay 100 baht, you can grab a towel, use the gym/steam room also, you need to be a bit cheeky but you can lounge about in the large reception area and help your self to Coffee/tea and often they put fruit out. I seem to be part of the furniture and a smile at the staff and wander round like your staying there and no one both
  15. 1- sea side guest house(will charge for 1).....................no comment 2-queen vic hotel(mailed them and got a reply that they dont charge joiners)..............but in a noisy area. 3- rockhouse..............over rated and noisy area 4- bay breeze(250 per joiner)...............no comment. 5-secrets....over priced, over rated, not a nice environment. Personally I would never stay in a place over a bar, never pay a joiner fee, never stay in Walking street.
  16. I was walking down soi Bauhkow (spelling) a few days ago and noticed a lot of building work opposite Sawadee hotel just along the road from Pooks and I asked a moto taxi driver what they do, he said new Go Go bar ??? The work is in the building all the way to the back, quite a large space right back to the opposite of Baby Boom ago go, Anyone have any info on this.
  17. Try this link, it is a good one. http://www.thailand-guide.org/maps/index.htm
  18. Bell travel are good, google them.
  19. Yes most medicines like that are cheaper although you have to shop around as one or two rip off Pharmacies may try the Farang thing, its an idea if you know exactly what you want to send in your G/F to buy them as she will probably get them cheaper.
  20. Many guys I know spend their evenings around the soi Bauhkow area and dont bother with Walking street as the prices are so high and the chances of getting ripped off very high, with the 3 soon to be more Go Go's in this area as well as all the other entertainment there is no need really to travel to Walking street especially if you stay in or near soi Baukow.
  21. I thought Ala Turka had closed down ages ago, is it open again and the Istanbul Kebab is half way along walking street isnt it, not next to the entrance. ??
  22. There are so many chippies now as well as just about every western eatery offers fish and chips, what's it all about.
