Hi MM. He is right... My PC always reconnects me automatically, so not something I noticed, but I tried in a private browsing window to ask PattayaTalk on Google and, indeed, your site tried to redirect me on a "/url4short.info/" url that my antivirus blocked ! - First thing to do is to check for the .htaccess files in your hosting directories. Probably many unwanted "rewrite" rules in the main .htaccess or several others. - Second will be to search for "url4short", "eval(" or other suspicious code in all your php files. - Third will be to find how your files have been modified, else it will happen again. (Probably difficult if "a few years" ! and probably several updates since that infection...) Good luck

trying out the coach from central Bangkok to Pattaya.
Idefix replied to JayMoon101's topic in Transport in Thailand
A few remarks: - This "Central Bangkok" is confusing. I think I never heard that. The title of the Ekkamai bus station is "the eastern bus terminal". - 80 baht for a taxi from Nana to Ekkamai ? Didn't he use its meter ? Should have been about 40 baht. - The baht bus from the Pattaya North Bus Station up to WS/2nd Rd is 20 baht. 30 baht is the price up to Jomtien. There is a led sign with prices just above the bahtbus departure area -
opening a bank account in Pattaya?
Idefix replied to loveless's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
You don't need any specific card for that. If you have a Debit Card, KasikornBank offers you for free access to a "virtual visa card" at your name made for online shopping (K-Web Shopping Card). I think all main banks have a similar "virual card". -
opening a bank account in Pattaya?
Idefix replied to loveless's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Hi. An update about opening a bank account: I am a customer of Kasikorn Bank agency near Tukcom since 2006. I have 3 accounts there already (Saving, Deposit, USD). This morning I ask for opening a new Saving Account to separate my stock exchange activity (dividends) I can't believe it: I didn't manage to get this new account ! Eeven if I had all my usual documentation (passport, Thai DL, Electric bill (all with my Thai address)) they insisted (an employee and later a manager) that it's not possible to open an account without a Certificate of Residence from the Immigration Office, even if already client of the bank ! It seems that a 1-year visa is now mandatory too. Everything was so easy at this Kasikorn agency a few years back. Very disappointed -
Hi. I doubt that the problem comes from the modems themselves. You don't need that much performance to watch a video, even HD, on a smartphone/tablet. I understand he uses 2 modems. Probably a non-wifi 3BB one + a wifi one used as router. Likely a configuration problem. Modern smartphones & tablets tend to use the most recent protocols. He must check that every 3 devices use the same one, or change for the best the 3 can support. First check would be to try with another tablet or smartphone, using WiFi. If ok => maybe configuration on his tablet? Second check: verify that a wired computer would receive correctly the videos, on each modem. If ok => WiFi confirugation ? Buying a new modem should not be required, except if a test prove that a modem has a serious problem.

News (or rumour?) tonight is that from tomorrow no more visarun will be possible on the Cambodia border, EVEN if you have a Visa ! (2-entry tourist visa, multi non-Imm, ...) http://www.thaivisaservice.com/

Good news...big rain today...we needed it
Idefix replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
A nice little rain today South Road at 7pm from Center Condo "Pattaya Tai river" pouring in Wat Chaimongkron The big pond in the wat is overflowing... Monks will have again to search for fishes and turtles in the park tomorrow morning Crossing Second Rd & South Rd. School #8 on the left. I would need a boat to go Walking Street now and my GGG friend cancelled her visit at 6pm because of the rain. I am good for a TV movie night alone PS: From Youtube -

Unsure... but I walked Monday in this area and I saw several boards like "reopening soon" or "renovation this month" on several parts of the building. For sure the bowling is still open (and no sign it could close) and many of the shops around or above Tops will still be there. Not sure about Tops itself.

You can only exit from the country with the passport you used to enter in.
-
On other articles on this same subject. By example here: http://www.phuketgazette.net/phuket-news/Blacklisted-Kiwis-busted-2yearold-unpaid-restaurant-bill/61960 From what I know, if someone makes a complaint against you and the Police decides the files must be in Court, then they automatically signal your passport number so that you cannot leave the country. If ever you have already exited the country, you are in the case of these 2 guys. The Immigration computer will remember that you have "a problem" to solve with the Court, and I am unsure if there here is a time limit for that.

This article forgot to say that the bill was about 15'000 baht !

I would tell you to continue - in a first time - to make a daily planning, as if you were still working. I am not yet retired but live here in Pattaya. My week days usually look like : - 6 : wake up, shower, breakfast - 6:30 - 10 : sport (can be walking, running, swimming pool, Tony's, ...) + some occasional task (goto bank, immigration,...) - 10 - 18 : work (thank you to Internet) - 19 : food & get ready for the night - 20+ : Pattaya Night Time - midnight: shower + goto bed You can then easily adapt your work time in function of your work need.

The key word here is "work permit". You were no more on a stay from your visa, but from a 1-year Extension that your work-permit gave you. Also, many non-B people without a work-permit (I know, I got one during 1 year )
-
I think all multi non-Imm Visa give you only 90 days stays, so you need a visarun every 3 month if you want to stay here full time with such visa. Special case are OA visa (that allow a 1-year stay, so no visarun before 1 year). You don't need a visarun if you get some kind of 1-year extension though, but many people don't qualify for them (need 50 yo, or married, or child, ...)
-
Hi. Be careful if you intend to make a visarun soon. It seems that yesterday all Immigration offices at the Cambodia border refused to let go out people doing visarun (in-out the same day). This continues today. Result is that there is probably no visarun to Cambodia from Pattaya by minibus today. A owner of a travel agency I know told me he cancelled all trips for next week. Other agencies may try to continue for people with multi non-O only. There is an already long topic opened on ThaiVisa: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/855508-reports-thai-cambo-border-check-points-closed-to-visa-runners-with-immediate-effect/
-
Nearly. You need a non-Imm visa or a 1-year extension to get a 5-years licence. Yes. Seems like recent temporary licences are valid 2 years and do not depend anymore of your birthday date. No change that I know about 5-years licences.

The rapport on PattayaDailyNews is a bit strange (again) : http://pattayadailynews.com/pub-raided-for-opening-after-hours/ "The officers found 5 dancers who were under the age of 20 and 11 customers who failed a drug test." Dancers under the age of 20... Yes, and ?

in conjunction with selling alcohol outside legal opening hours ? I understand it's a point the NCPO insisted a lot in recent weeks.
