I made a quick road trip recently, Seattle, Vancouver Island, Vancouver..... The Canadian dude at the port of entry in Victoria was casual and funny, asking about a large pillow in the back of my car "Is that a body?" (they searched my car). The American when I returned home was a fucking asshole. Go figure.

is it safe to buy food from foodstands in pattaya?

Disregarding one particular contentious asshole, the consensus seems to be falang food can sometimes be a problem in Thailand, Thai food from a busy cart is usually fine. -

Like I said, the only time I got sick was eating falang food. Is that difficult to understand? -

Anyone else noticed a drop in food quality at PBG lately?
alias replied to frostfire's topic in Restaurants and food
I was a regular there evenings in early Oct 2010. It really is a top notch establishment, but I did have issues with poor service. I attributed it to being in Thailand. I'll be a regular next Oct, too. -
When I said I'd like a little head from the blonde in ABBA......

China Air 989 dollars including taxes, book on expedia. AND less time in the air. For me, it's all about the money and time spent in transit. Sing Air has a good rep, but I'd like less time in airports if I can swing it. As a note... I just booked a BKK flight using FF miles on AA and threw all that I wrote above right out the fucking window. Billings to LAX with a 20 hour layover before my flight to BKK on JAL. Still, for $107.... not bad.

It's real easy to explain: The types of Americans who would be obnoxious louts couldn't find Thailand on a map, and probably don't have a passport.

Queen Victoria Reviews, Experience, Etc?
alias replied to Grandpollo's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Oh lord, you've never been to Soi 6? At night (after 11, I think) the bar is closed, so you use the rear entrance, which is staffed by a guard. the "soi" running behind the Vic was SWARMING with ladyboys. Nope, never saw the penthouse, I stayed in deluxe type 1 http://www.queenvicpattaya.com/Rooms.htm -
Queen Victoria Reviews, Experience, Etc?

Cons: No lift, stairs are tricky in sandals when drunk, I don't care for "Running the Gauntlet" to get to my hotel. After hours, "The Gauntlet" is even worse, with voracious ladyboys that linger near the rear exit. I'm sure there's a pun in there somewhere.... Pros: Just about everything else. Quality room, great value, good food. Judged on the room alone, best I had in Pattaya. -
My pet peeve with Thai girls

You say this as though it proves something, and indeed it does, but not what you think. It was rude of you to make her feel left out. -
There is a special category for tipped employees in the US (by the taxman) BECAUSE they make far more than the minimum wage. Yes, I'm claiming that is incorrect. And further, here is a simple declarative sentence for you: You're a fucking arrogant wanker.

Yup, it's fucking rude, in ANY country. -
The "taxman" doesn't make US labor laws.

The dude has more than a thousand posts here, and you're wondering if he's a troll? Really? I've experienced EXACTLY what he's talking about. In other countries, the people I am out with are (or least appear to be) sensitive to the fact that I'm not fluent in their language, and make an effort to include me. The Thais don't seem to give a shit. -
What you're describing sound like properly functioning IE to me. Forgetting every other reason people give for hating on it, I don't use it because it's slow and clunky, and it's prone to mysterious lockups. I use Sea Monkey from Mozilla. It's the descendant of Netscape.

Yeah, well..... I do use SpyBot :) Which means Tea Timer is resident. The line between "virus" "adware" and "malware" is getting smaller all the time. I surf porn alot , so I'm sure I'm exposed to some of the worst that is out there. I just don't co operate. When I go to a website, and it tries to launch Acrobat, I don't let it. If it tries to "print", i don't let it. If it has a popup window that says "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO LEAVE", I don't click OK or ANYTHING inside that window. If it says I need need to download a codec.... you get the point. The one thing that re

Not to kick you in the nuts or anything, but I have never met ANYBODY whom I would consider knowledgeable about computers who has got a virus. It may have happened, but I've never seen it. I've been virus-free on the web for 14 years without Anti-virus, because the simple truth is I've yet to encounter a virus that didn't need the user to install it.

I don't use any antivirus, but I've heard good things about Avast.
