I admire you for travelling first Rick believe me, but and I say this in a polite way that money must be meaningless to you and the fare is neither here of there ?? No one but no one shells out 6500 Sterling if money is an issue ?? Whats biz 2500 ?? Economy 800 ?? I have to be absolute honest and even if money was no issue for myself I would not go above premium economy for a seat ??

Yes I paid just 480 pounds in Evergreen Deluxe now Elite way back in February 1994.... Those were the days out of Gatwick and stopped outbound in Vienna on Eva..

Guy who I was talking to yesterday was amazed at the most I'd ever paid to Los was actually 16 years ago...... Lowest I ever paid was 319 pounds on Tarom in 1994 via Bucharest. Most I ever paid was 540 pounds in summer of 1995 on Thai International. I did for about 7 years have access to stand by tickets on BA/Qantas but unfair to include them.... Amazingly have still not come close to the 540 since....

How do you make that out ?? Why does having 1st class lower the cost of economy ?? Surely the introduction of 1st is to increase revenues rather than lowering the cost of Y seats to offset it ??

Sooner or later I will make a maiden trip to AC.... What airline do you guys use if you're out of London rather than a side trip from Thailand... Economy class I might add.......Not as rich as Jacko.....

Back downstairs with the peasants I read on Business Traveller that on the A380 when rostered on the London route, that the economy seats are reduced to 32" pitch from 34" with the addition of those awful footrests, that remove another inch when still in the upright position ?? I'm going to stick with Air India !! Nice big seats in serf class....

I flew with them during Ramadan in 2007. Service was ok but for some weird reason they would give you a beer but not the can !! You had to have the plastic glass filled and then they took away the half full can..... As I always sit in the final row its easy to walk into the galley for reloads but same scenario-glass full and throw away the half full can...

Indeed all the charges on airline ticket purchase using plastic will just be added to the front line price ??

Fair comment !!! But true though, I've never ever paid from memory more than a 1000, certainly never in Pattaya. Got a feeling I paid 1500 once for a girl from Kings Corner in Patpong around 1993 but thats it !! Probably because Ive always played the "let the girl pick me policy" and never discuss money ever...

First time ever I've taken any real notice of threads talking about these drugs or similar. The warnings and side effects are colossal going by what I've just googled and its clear you must only take for erectile dysfunction, and not just to have "better" sex ?? Certainly I could never take it at all, judging by the medical warnings prior to taking. I do wonder if anyone bothers seeing a Doctor prior to ingesting ??

I dont think its a good idea to be standing in reception with your bags trying to obtain a discount-you're on a sticky wicket especially perhaps after a 24 hour trip or more.... I always email the hotel direct (after ALWAYS finding out the correct name of the person to deal with) asking for best price-its very rare that I can subsequently find it cheaper via the booking sites... As I only tend to stick to at most 4 hotels they tend to know me and when I make a reservation they know I'll be there..

I think that part of the "tax" falls under Air Passenger Duty which is going up to 85 pounds in economy.....

Gus I always used to find that if you go back to the Galley and ask for Tiger or Heineken than its always forthcoming ?? Must have done 30 returns on them and have never been disappointed. Also some people frequently criticize Eva's food but its coming out of the same caterers, as all the rest,

Must admit the two times I flew Cathay Pacific they were indeed the dogs bollacks-was upgraded to Biz on one flight so can only imagine what first is like.

I second Etihad-most out of choice like to go non stop but personally I like a stop-Etihad for me followed by Qatar or Emirates.

Initially didn't like the new forum software set up (no one likes change !), but after playing around with it am impressed....

Indeed thats one way of putting it..... Must admit I do work on worst case scenario when I've travelled on Etihad out of Abu Dhabi and keep all meds in main checked luggage, but I guess even that wont protect you entirely.
