Oh I agree Jacko you can get banged up pretty easy, but I've always doubted this 4 year bang up for having prescription medications clearly obtained from the medical profession.

I just dont believe for one single minute Jacko that these people are being banged up for four years for having poppy seeds in top pockets, after visiting McDonalds, or having bog standard everyday medication in carry on luggage......Any half decent lawyer would have the prosecution in turmoil and defeat, in 2 minutes flat. Even in a worst case scenario, your own GP would/could produce verification of medications after 2 or 3 days.

Like most but not all, am obviously aware of the medication issues on travelling through the Emirates, but I constantly wonder was sort of legal representation these jailed guys had ?? I take Tramadol and Codeine and others, strictly on the banned list but am prescribed like many other travellers......Do these people have any legal assistance or in reality do they indeed get banged up with no legal help ??

There was another guy reporting that his Emirates flight out of Swampy was only 20% full. Could be a mixture of people not making flights, or cancelling trips in the first place ??

I have 32,000 unused miles which will expire this year end. You can transfer as received an email back from Q club some time ago but it costs you an arm and a leg to transfer them.

PM I genuinely dont believe they will hike prices at least initially. I'ts my belief that after a few months of very very heavy loads they will take unfortunately a different view. As you are aware from the thread you've been following, I've clocked up 141 round trips and yet only THREE have been on Thai Inter. Reasons have been onefold and thats it. No AVOD systems, old aircraft etc but put the 380's on line I for one will be returning without question. I wont be alone. I think they will be packed out.

If I can relate my experience of food poisoning briefly. In 1984 I was off sick for 14 weeks with salmonella through eating contaminated pork-14 long weeks !! As I worked within a large factory enviroment wasn't allowed to return to work until 3 weekly samples were clear. So next time you see chicken satay, pork etc being prepared for the nightly BBQ on wheels that go round the sois, see how many flies are feasting on it etc. When you get a brief one day dose of the shits you haven't got food poisoning rest assured !!

Sorry just reread what had been released before from Thai-the retrofitted 747's with seat back AVOD systems are on line from December 2011. Doesnt indicate if both daily flights will use them but hopefully so.

Ok thanks. This time last year I picked up Etihad for 470 pounds but no chance this year ! There site is actually offering 460 inclusive for these dates but certainly not available in 9 different dates I put in.
