  1. Stop being such a drama queen. You're more likely to die of boredom riding 5-10 metres than you are of anything else. We have tried to give you advice, based on our experiences of both Pattaya, riding bikes and life in general. You have refused all offers of advice and decided that what you want is the only thing and nothing is going to change your mind that what you are looking for is the right thing to do. So why ask for advice and then rebuff it all? Why not just ask a motorbike taxi where he learnt to ride? Ask him what he would advise? Because as sure as shit smells, you're not taking our advice and appear to be just posting as a troll to get a reaction. If that's all you're doing then don't bother, because any further outbursts of posting in capitals or throwing the advice back at the guys trying to help you will result in your posts being removed, the thread locked and potentially the loss of your ability to post. Is that clear enough without resorting to capitals to make it easier for you to understand? KM
  2. How long do you think it would take you to be bored riding in short 5-10 metre spurts? As previously mentioned most bikes in Thailand are stop and go bikes, so no clutch bite point. All vehicles - bikes and cars - have different bite points, but roughly around the same point. You will not spend days trying to get used to a bite point. If doing a proper training course, it is designed to take you through that issue with a patient, experienced trainer. If you want to get ahead of the game, learn all the theory. You haven't said what your home country is and your profile says Afghanistan, but I'm presuming that is incorrect. You asked for advice, but then rebutted advice given to you because it doesn't match what you want to hear. Perhaps if you had been less vague with your opening post, you might have got 'better' advice. I ride all the time in the UK and ride whenever I'm in Thailand, so I know about UK training courses, but wont go into detail if you're not from the UK. KM
  3. Because of this thread I thought I'd give it a try for breakfast this morning. However I don't think I'll be rushing back for another one! I ordered a standard English breakfast, with tea, toast and juice for 120 baht, In UK terms @ £3. Cheap enough, but there are plenty of better deals around. However the problem was that nothing on the plate was hot. Luke warm was the warmest anything was and the beans might as well have come straight from the tin they were that cold. The 2 sausages were about 2 inches long and the bacon was dry and barely warm. Edible, but only just. It is in a good position and I can see it being a popular place to go for a few beers, but not somewhere I would consider for breakfast again. KM
  4. Passports, driving licences - it's horses for courses. I've been stopped on the bike many times, sometimes they check if I have a valid bike licence and not just a car licence, other times as soon as they see me pull out my IDL, they just wave me away. Exchange booths, sometimes I've been asked for my passport, often I'm not. I've never been stopped on the street and asked to produce my passport. The bottom line is you take a chance as to whether you carry each and every document all the time, or just select what you feel is right for you at the time and hope you don't get some pedantic soul who will ask for it. It's all around mitigating the risk. KM
  5. Ah, ok - my apologies. Didn't realise you meant that long ago! KM
  6. 38? Are you sure? I've never known it drop that low before. when was this?
  7. It was 9 years ago, Navy. we all move on in life. KM
  8. What happened this weekend?
  9. I cant see any benefit to the members here by being forced to join with another site. Not much more to say! KM
  10. Grooooaaaaaannnnnn!!
  11. Can you imagine riding past on your bike and getting smacked across the face with hot veggies!!
  12. Yes I have. I always carry the rental agreement, along with a photocopy of my passport, and my IDL. When ever i'm stopped and start pulling all those bits out from under the seat I'm soon waved on my way, unlike some other tourists who have rented on the fly and hold neither a proper bike licence or rental agreement. You'll get a contract from Poolhustler, just carry it under your seat and no dramas. KM
  13. It's like a posher version of the food court downstairs. and welcome back!!
  14. ........ which is odd, because Jacko won a voucher for that place so we both went along (date night! ) and the service and food we received was awful! Bearing in mind the manager was aware of who we were and why Jacko had won the voucher, you would have thought he would have made sure everything as spot on, but unfortunately not. Hey ho, not to worry KM
  15. Yes and yes. I've rented from him many times and never had a problem. Stopped several times by the police and they have always accepted the paperwork and licensing
  16. Anton sold out to Kiss, however he opened a smaller restaurant up the adjacent road - Soi 16 (I think) Soi roylang. Head up there as far as the police post, then turn left then right and carry on about 100 yards, it's on your left. KM
  17. Do you eat it, climb it or drive around it?
  18. Dont know about highlights, but the lady I took to a salon took her own shampoo and conditioner and she (me!) wasn't charged much at all for a wash and trim, just a couple of hundred baht as I recall. Not exactly what you're asking, but gives you a ball park figure to work around. KM
  19. We'll take that as 'C' then! I've never met the guy, but if I had, I would feel justified in backing him up, whereas you have never met him and have no intention of using his services and are just being totally discriminatory to anyone at all. You, sir, are using your privileged position of being a free member here to disrespect business owners by posting inane comments, neither adding value to their business or the content of the board, then take umbrage when called to account. My privileged position as a moderator means I voluntarily (without salary) give my time to the site and the members without fear or favour to ensure the board isn't flooded by spammers, trolls and other people you would cross the street to avoid. What do you bring to the table? Kev, I just saw your post as I was typing and I apologise that it seems to go round and around. Short, if you have any further issues you wish to discuss, please take it to private message to prevent further threadfucking and annoyance to the other members. Thank you KM
  20. Are you a ) an advertising guru who knows the best way to promote a business b )Actually very keen to buy his flowers and personally feel disappointed that you couldn't see ALL his prices on a little flyer c ) A grumpy old bastard who takes pleasure in picking holes in other peoples business posts, of which you have no intention of taking up their services. answers on a postcard please. And for anyone who states I started it by posting out the date. This was a quick fix for him to do, for which I was thanked. KM
  21. Offer ends 20th June and you post this on 26th June??????????????
  22. I even gave you a 'green' too!! KM
  23. I deleted your double post, Butch KM
  24. No real need to book as 2 people as you may not bring someone back every night and they may prefer breakfast elsewhere than at the hotel. Plus you may decide to have a lie in and both of you miss the hotel breakfast!. Keep your options open, book as one with breakfast (and save money?) and worry about what she will eat at the time. KM
  25. Why do you think he never has a pizza before he goes out? He doesn't want to spoil his appetite!!
