  1. Glad to hear things are busy at the Pattaya Pick Up Garden! And the problem with the BLT was-the bacon was warmed (like everywhere else in Thailand) and not crisp-just warm.Limp bacon is awful.Bacon rant over.It was hopping when I came in early one evening last week.
  2. When it rains-intermittent service. So of course,I called 1100 and asked how long it would be down.LOL! Monday, because our "technicians" (too funny) only work 9-5,Monday through Friday. What a wonderful job to have-holidays and weekends off.And to think I expected internet service 24/7/365-how silly of me. This rivals Honduras where I endured Third World status some 20 months back. How silly of me to think Thailand had progressed beyond that stage.TT&T-still waiting to hear from them form 6 weeks back. Contacted 2 offfices and still no response.Third World indeed.
  3. Yes but let's not let 250b be a deal breaker.I think the price is fair and if it doesn't sell,it'll be my lappy for several years to come. I haven't used the touchpad as I've had a wireless mouse attached since new.And I'll sell the laptop cooler very cheaply too-it has been atttached since new also via USB.Battery has been removed since new (fully charged) while using a/c for longer battery life.
  4. After a 15-20 rain,I like to watch 2nd Rd turn into 2nd Lake.Drainage is an afterthough here.
  5. Air Asis has a 0 (ZERO) fare on offer now.Just pay tax and assorted charges.
  6. As a retired airline employee,I can say they are responsible to feed, house, and clothe you if you miss your connection (ok,mayabe not clothe you).God knows I made enough of those vouchers over 32 years to do so for all forum members. Did I mention Northwest is officially a subsidiary of my former company,Delta Air Lines,as of today. The NW name will cease to exist w/i 18 months.

  11. Hola, pinche,I'll try to help a bit.The cost structure is a huge determining factor, obviously. What the particular airline has paid for fuel, crew salary, aircraft lease, their airport lease for every square foot is the determining factor for fares in a nutshell. The fixed fees, such as customs and immigration are standard as are landing fees, unless an airport was begging for your service and cut you a break on facility fees and lannding fees.Obviously if you have a great lease, pay your staff shite or have your fuel hedged below the current rate (or higher as some airlines have and it cost 1 US carrier several hundred million so far) you can charge less.Having spent 32 years in the industry has given me some insight. As far as location of lounges being a money saver, probably not.You generally want to have a lounge near your gates, but no suitable space may be available or do you want to inherit another carriers lounge and refurbish it?Or build your own from scratch.I can share a few stories about what my company did in the late 80s when we built our own concourse in Orlando. Basically what it costs to fly that aircraft,1 seat, differs greatly in some cases. CASM vs RASM -cost vs revenue per seat. The difference between the two is your profit (or loss). For many years,my company was below the industry average, well below, the yield. Now we are at 103% and this difference is night and day.
  12. Last entry was 3+ years ago but I did book from it.Any more recent suggestions? Am booked at Flamingos Hotel for $35 per nite.
  13. Have a visa run coming soon? You may want to consider a trip to PP or elsewhere for just over 3k baht, all in. The ++ is for tax and surcharges-still very reasonable. Book between 13-27 Oct and fly between 9Feb-31Jul
  14. Contacted Tooie today and she quoted a very fair price for coverage.
  15. I live in a large 2 room condo and always run the air when home.My 1st electric bill as $33.63 and my water bill was $5.05.
  16. Are you referring to IE8 Beta?Yes it sucks.I tried for 2 days and went back to 7 SP3.You can tick that box on top line that is supposed to make web pages that work for earlier versions-6 & 7-worrk in8 Beta, but that doesn't always for either.Go back to 7.
  17. I can recommend 2.See Michael Pinsent at Thailand Properties-3rd floor Avenue Mall on 2nd Rd.038052020 Or see Lek at Jomtien Properties at the entrance of View Talay 2 on Thepprasit Rd in Jomtien-0817582899.

  19. Congrats on the lower BP from a daily user of Norvasc, which is incredibly cheap here BTW.The 160b you paid would not cover your HOSPITAL PARKING in the States.
  20. I stayed 2 weeks in June w/o a problem and my room was nearest the construction on the 4th floor.I consider it the best bargain in Patts.
  21. From a retired airline employee. Also consider a point beyond BKK if there is a cheaper fare.Air Asia has very cheap fares to/from BKK every month or so.I kn ow it won't be nonstop like you prefer, but you'll get to visit another city (if you like) and may save a few quid.

  23. Hilarious.Online means BA to BA.Offline means BA to other carriers.Let IATA worry about what concerns them And yes,it does cost more to transfer a bag to another carrier instead of dropping it off at the local/domestic carousel.
  24. Agreed Tom.I believe IATA may have a say in their reluctance to perform this menial task. Unless BA is trying to save a few quid here and there.
