So, you are the guy that has stolen all of the travel luck. I was wondering who you were. My plans have changed about 17 times so far - and I leave next Friday and most likely my flgiht will be changed tomorrow. The trip to Thailand shouldn't change - just the preliminary trip to Taiwan. Now I am waiting for a computer glitch to get unscrewed that will allow me to travel on China Airlines - on a code share with Delta - only way I can get the flight I want - it is a US GOv thing - that we have to fly on US carriers - or code shared with a foreign carrier. Had the flight all booked and then got notice about 2 weeks ago that the floght was cancelled. AFter making some phone calls - found out it is a computer issue that supposedly will get fixed. Before that - it was just a series of changes, cancellations, dates shifting and re-shifting, on and off trips. approvals being delayed - just a gamut of issues. So, I am glad that you are reaping the benefits and hope the rest goes as smoothly. I am just waiting to see how many more changes can happen during the 4 days prior to flying out.

I have used Mr. Toom's service quite a few times now and have never been let down. I also recommend him to all my friends. I have booked online, called the night before in Pattaya for an early pick-up a couple of times for guys that inadvertantly forget to book their departure. I have had him pick up a buddy at Soi LK Metro and then go Soi Nam Plerb Wan to get the other guy. Never had a problem and never had a buddy tell me that they had any issues. I have booked Mr. Toom again on May 23 and will be very happy to see the "Mr. Larry" sign when I step out from the inner bowels of Suvarnabhumi Airport.

why, why, why do you fly 1/2 way round the world for your 2 week holiday and then catch a bus. If you cannot afford the 1200 Baht for the ride, perhaps you shouldn't go on holiday. I prefer to book a ride in advance and have someone waiting for me with his little sign. Maybe it is an ego thing -but whatever - it is nice to have a ride waiting. I am not about throwing money around or ringing bells - but I can find other ways to save a few Baht - like get an inexpensive, butt nice, guest house room, eat Thai food for 30 Baht instead of a 500baht dinner in a farang restaurant. but - hey - it is your holiday - so - if you want to spend it on a bus - up to you...just not my thing

CAL is the only airline flying out of Hawaii that arrives in BKK at 1600 as opposed to about midnight with all the others (JAL, KAL, NW, United) - not all flights - but about 3 flights per week. The other flights are worse than the other 4 airlines arriving in BKK at 0105. It is nice to arrive in BKK during daylight and getting to Pattaya right about at sunset. Service has been good - nothing spectacular in coach - but it is really good in "Dynasty" class - similar to business/1st class. I am fortunate that when I fly coach - I have a friend that works at CAL that hooks me up with an exit row seat months in advance -I don't have to fight to get an exit row seat the morning of the flight. My last trip to BKK sucked up all my miles - so it is back to coach for me on the next flight and then should have enough for an upgrade at the end of the year. I try to just upgrade on the long leg - HNL - TPE - the 10 - 11 hour flight. The 3 1/2 hour, TPE - BKK - exit row is just fine. The US carriers here in the Pacific absolutely suck. Only regret that EVA and Thai don't fly out of Hawaii - or would give them a shot.
