  1. Exactly. I've been in the departure lounge when the airline starts offering ever-escalating amounts to bribe a few passengers to accept a later flight. In BAs case, they bid ever higher until they get enough acceptances. Every five minutes the bribe increased by £200......
  2. Did the place on Soi Lengkee,"Shanghai" open for a day before all the staff left over a dispute about wages? Maxines on Soi Diamond and Only O further up in the narrow passage didn't last long either. Same same for Zero on Soi Boukhao. Two places got the signage up but didn't get round to having an opening night...Bad Girls on WS and Ozone in the Bali Hi complex.
  3. Missing a soundtrack, but interesting nevertheless. Not my footage BTW.
  4. I ventured to Robins Nest yesterday evening, expecting to choose from the menu card but was surprised to see buffet selection was still in situ....the time was after 8.30 pm as UK Premiership football was on the television. Well, being hungry and having the option of choosing an immediate meal I elected to give the buffet a go,and am glad I did. There was a carving station with a huge block of pork topped with crackling...a lady appeared behind the counter and carved so many slices for me I was a bit worried about eating them all.Again,I shouldn't have been concerned as it was moist and
  5. I now withdraw that approval..... My flight was about half an hour late incoming, due to delays at Heathrow which didn't get cancelled out during the journey. Result was it arrived at the same time as flights from India and the queues were horrendous. Probably about an hour in line. Worst I've ever seen!
  6. I'll give it a whirl, but know little about Mexican cuisine (the one and only place I frequented was Viva Tacos in Finchley Road, London in the late 1970s!). Is it near Tigglebitties (which itself has a new neighbour as the Outlaws Motorcycle Club have just opened a branch of their Crossed Pistons Saloon next door)? I'm pretty sure I've passed it when searching out the Camel Toe further up the road. An authentic setting as the traffic can throw up lots of dust! Pavements aka sidewalks would be a plus found there too! I'll swing by and critique the 1960s PopArt crockery in addit
  7. The 449 Thb is inclusive of VAT but excludes any service charge.
  8. Here's the latest on Dicey O's... Well, the price for the carvery has increased to 449. The range is as was (excellent roast turkey, roast pork, and today a beef Wellington), then cottage pie, crinkle cut roast potatoes, sprouts, fish fingers and so many other offerings as before, plus salad bar,Eastern bits and pieces and delightful little cakes to die for. But....there's lamb. Delicious braised lamb shanks piled high! Cooked to perfection... the meat falls off the bone as it should. I indulged in my usual two plates worth, and got to say it was top drawer. With a Pepsi Max the to
  9. I always fly in on TG911.....arriving around 6 in the morning. Only ever smallish queues, and fast moving too....five to fifteen minutes and then collect the luggage which is usually just arriving on the carousel. Seems busy at arrivals with many taxi drivers holding up their passenger name cards. Always a clear run to Pattaya.....only traffic hold-ups are on reaching Pattaya.... sometimes on Sukhumvit and again on Klang...but no big deal. I always seem to check in at my hotel at 8 am, and the room has always been available. You shouldn't have a problem.
  10. Well,I really liked it! Not enough sleaze and raunch, but nicely assembled clips.
  11. I've purchased a few programmes from Tukcom, and have always enjoyed a clean installation and good following performance. One CD got the anti-virus guard agitated, but as Sunny V says,it was the key-gen (serial number crack machine)that caused the alert,as the AV protect software reads the key-gen incorrectly as a virus. In my experience,if you have a crack code available without using the key-gen,(on a read-me file on the disc) or a paste-and-replace bit of code, then all is well.
  12. Thank you! Great news!! The police must have been paid off,or are not being pressed to enforce infringements by those higher up the chain.
  13. On my last visit a few months ago,the CD and DVD pirates on the 4th Floor were either shut down or only displaying legal stock...all the computer software was gone. There had been a heavy police raid and no pirate material was available. Is this still the case? Are the pirates still there but hiding the stock? Or have they moved to the newish Harbour Mall on Klang? I can get what I want off EBay, but only as a digital download and at a higher price. I really want a hard copy on a disc. Can anyone confirm its business as usual for the pirates? Thanks!
  14. I tried the carvery at Robins Nest too....twice,in fact....and agree that it's far from upmarket. Good if your taste buds are failing or you are used to canteen or jailhouse food, but not so impressive if you prefer quality on your plate. The beef is offered in pre-formed thin slices, reminding me of school dinners I had decades ago,and awash with watery gravy. The Yorkshires are rock hard and burned to a crisp, and most of the veg was drowned in a bath of lukewarm water, making it soggy and bland. The upside though is that there's plenty of it,so if you're not particularly discerning
  15. In Indonesia, it's shocking when the money changers don't skim a few bills off the pile after they have counted it out.Truly experts at sleight of hand. They only accept pristine foreign notes but hand over absolutely filthy local ones in return.
  16. Just watched this mini film of how a guy tracks the progress of his stolen cellphone via remote monitoring and observation of the thief as he goes about his daily life. Interesting short documentary, subtitled in English. If you have twenty minutes to spare, watch this? : https://www.yahoo.com/tech/film-student-spied-everything-thief-did-stolen-smartphone-144553464.html I think I'll add that app too, just in case it happens to me.
  17. That's a walk I'm never going to take. Thanks for the photos...very interesting for sure!!
  18. Just seen that "Footymadstreams" on Addicts is using a second contact email account : Worldwideexpattv@gmail.com He's the go-to guy for these boxes now, either fully loaded or for reprogramming if purchased elsewhere. I have no involvement whatsoever with him, except that he saved the day by salvaging my boxes and bringing them back to life again. I'm a satisfied customer, hence the recommendation.
  19. There's a mail holding facility with a bank of safety boxes for rent on (I think!) Soi 13/2. About half way along on the southern side of the street. It's a long established business. I noticed it when I was looking for a photocopy shop,so didn't pay attention to the name but should be easy to locate.
  20. There's another vendor,he advertises on Addicts forum. Rather than have dead boxes and unreliable or unavailable support, might be worth contacting him? He's around Pattaya. Will get your box working again. His board name is "Footymadstreams" (on pattaya-addicts.com forum) and the active forum thread over there is titled "Expat TV Box 3999 BAHT". His email is comingtosurin@gmail.com He strips old boxes and reloads with working apps content....1000 Thb for one, additional boxes at 500 Thb.
  21. Jomtien, condo rental. Easy to access Pattaya when needed and incredible value for money.
  22. I stayed there twice a few years ago. Rooms incredibly compact and cheap construction showing early signs of dilapidation. Biggest problem for me was that walls are paper thin so anything audible in adjacent rooms percolate through. Same too for the corridors....all doors slamming shut sounds like mini explosions and walking and talking is amplified. Staff were friendly and customer base was overwhelmingly Japanese but either of those may have changed. Internet was sporadic. Hit and miss. Not a terrible hotel but looks more attractive on screen than it actually is. I wo
  23. Just discovered this YouTube video channel.....many arrest and interview uploads, often featuring African scammers and the Bangkok BiB (but other nationalities and locations too). Another reason (if ever one was needed!) to avoid Thai incarceration. Wouldn't want to be banged up with any of these lying cunts as cellmates. https://www.youtube.com/user/cyberak/videos
