  1. Unfortunately I don't practice what I preach, I always fly EVA.
  2. geoff Airlines are not Thai Girls, if you want to earn a free flight you cannot butterfly. The whole process is that airlines give you miles to tempt you not to fly with another airline. If you go to LOS 10 times with 10 different airlines at the lowest possible fare, it will probably have cost you a lot less than flying with one airline 9 times and getting a freebie on the 10th. Up to you
  3. Us UK guys cannot take the piss out of the Thais for the late opening of the new airport, we have the same debacle at the new Wembley Stadium, plus you Aussies can have some of the blame for that as well
  4. If you book EVA through WestEast or Ours travel agencies, they can usually book your seat.
  5. We ought to have a poll on when the first aircraft lands at Don Muang by mistake instead of the new airport, or the other way round. A Ryanair flight (not plane)just did a similar thing in Ireland yesterday, A320 should have landed at Derry, landed at an old military airport 5 miles away.
  6. Just my 10 bahts worth I cannot see ALL international and domestic flights using Suvanabuhm (new airport ) this year, if it does fully open on the Kings Birthday, then Good Luck. Myself I have booked a Taxi from Don Muang on 5th November
  7. robert, I believe that you can read english although it is not your native tongue. Go to 'Hotel reviews' Click 'Pattaya Hotels' Click '1000-2000 baht' Click page 5 'Sandy Spring' 8 reviews should halp you. have a great time.
  8. FbF I thought I read somewhere that you can have a free overnight stay at LHR on your return EVA flight, not sure if it was OURS travel offering this. Maybe other agents do as well. They used to advertise MAN-BKK via AMS but now it is via LHR. I agree about the timekeeping of BR067, the problem is usually a late arrival in Bangkok from Tapei. I don't think Thai like EVA, they have no through baggage agreement and EVA is always the furthest stand from the terminal, and when taxying ATC always make sure TG get preference. Mai Pen Rai, suppose it's the same the world over, BA/LHR etc.
  9. I think they recently altered the T & Cs, I think the pass now can only be purchased outside Thailand. If you have a look at Bangkok Airways web site you should be able to find out all the details about the Discovery Airpass there.
  10. It's gonna be a while before the new airport is fully up and running. Some of the airlines are not keen to move there. I have been reading the Bangkok Post whilst in LOS and it seem there are still many problems. I think they have not yet sorted out which type of baggage trollies they are going to use. Also they tested the auto baggage handling system and that had faults. For anyone who need the latest news probably check out the Bangkok Post web site. It will probably open in June with one aircraft and then nothing happens for a few months, my bet is that in November Eva air flight BR 06
  11. ranger Airline network have Landmark for about 40 quid a night if you stay 4 nights, iy is pay 3 get 4. well worth it and totally GF. Right in the middle of the action
  12. easy Welcome to the board, just click on Hotel Reviews Pattaya Less than 1000 baht Baybreeze I think around 14 reviews to help you out.
  13. Currently in Hua Hin I flew out last week Eva economy, no problems, in fact the best economy experience I have had with any airline. I am 6 foot 17 stone but seat was fine, and this after last time flying Premium Laurel. Nice salmon meal on flight. Someone posted about the entertainment boxes being under 3 of the 4 aisle seat rows stopping you stretching your legs fully out. However they didn't want to share this info with you guys, and I am not either however, I will give you a clue Just to recap with Eva, if flying on the 777ER from LHR then fly economy, other destinations/aircraft proba
  14. Eva never had any fuel problems last Wednesday
  15. Champions league games are on around 3AM in LOS. If you have nothing better to do at 3 AM than watch the footy whilst you are in Bangkok then you are in the wrong place
  16. I just checked and the Qantas QF002 was 90 minutes late arriving BKK today. I know LHR cut fuel allowances back to airlines by 30%, up to the airline how they worked it. Some airlines gave most flights normal allowance and the last flight had to re-fuel en route. Do any of you guys get nervous when the aircraft is over flying Afghanistan? When I see Kabul come up on the Skymap I start looking for a surface to air missile coming my way Hopefully, having a big green plane and not one with a great big Union Jack on the tail helps with that.
  17. Get a motor bike taxi from near to Kiss, coming back with TG you will be fucked, their own mafia songtaews charge 100 to second road. And when you get off the motor bike watch you don't burn your ankle on the hot exhaust like I did
  18. jell If you are in Pattaya, fly with Bangkok Airways from Utapao, about 45 mins drive south. 2 flights a day i think. Hotels, up to you, try http://samui.sawadee.com/hotels/lamai.html
  19. Just read on another forum that Thai are to start flying from AMS and Manchester this year, time will tell
  20. Cheers guys I will send myself an e-mail which lists some names and numbers in case I lose anything in LOS, I will just have to remember not to delete it
  21. I have been doing a bit of searching deciding where to stay in Bangkok this trip, must be around Suk 3-21 pref Nana, but not the Nana hotel itself. Anyway to cut a long story short http://www.ba.com are doing the Landmark at £56 per night inc tax, however the odd place does a pay 3 stay 4 promotion and one is: http://www.airline-network.co.uk So I am paying £156 or 10912 baht for 4 nights inc tax but no brekkie, I probably won't be around for breakfast anyway In my humble opinion Landmark is the best positioned hotel in Bangkok for TGs, BTS, Bars and restaurants etc. When I
  22. I live in the UK and my ISP is NTL World, for receiving/sending mail at home I use Outlook Express. When I go to an internet cafe in LOS I can only access new mail from NTL and not existing e-mails that are stored in my Outlook Express. Is there any way around this? TIA Gus
  23. The UK The lunatics have taken over the Asylum I notice that the Eva flight and the Tg have been an hour late arriving most nights this week,if they also have to stop in Essex for a refuel they should taxi around the M25 Anyone have any definitive news about which BKK bound aircraft are topping up with gas en-route. Pity they can't link up with a KC 135.
  24. Chris If it happens at those prices it will be fantastic, time will tell
  25. I think two of our eminent aircraft experts Tom and echster should head a forum bid to buy an A380 for low cost ops Round the World. Two high seat density aircraft flying daily services(ish) LHR-BKK-Tokyo-LAX-LHR and LHR-LAX-Tokyo-BKK-LHR Say £100/200$ per leg, bring your own booze and grub, or buy on board This would mean LHR-BKK £100 + £100 return + taxes Just hyperthetical really, but a RTW bus service type low cost will probably happen with the A380. No way will they go for the luxury liners first touted, pack em in and sell em cheap. Airbus A/C ventilation on APU is not
