  1. One thing Pattaya has over Vegas is its not populated by rubes in white polyester leisure suits with white vinyl belts and shoes aka The Full Cleveland, with their fat blue rinse wives in tow. In sleaze terms LV is Grade 3 public school compared to Pty. YOU are the action so don't get hung up on trying to find it, you know sorta like the forest and the trees....
  2. Ok, you're fat. Now stop shouting.
  3. bigmofo is right. also if you walk in you can negotiate for a longer stay and get a better rate. if it's not what you want you can go next door. also it gives them no chance to lose the paperwork and other assorted bs which cut into your fun.
  4. I hang out over my belt
  5. Where can I get a horseshoe like the one that's up your ass? Good one, BiGD.
  6. cum one, cum all? duck with red cabbage on the menu?
  7. Here's my 2 satang. I like to keep my money for my main purpose in Pattaya, so as long as my room is clean, quiet, comfy, safe and convenient I'm happy. I stay on soi Buakhow about 75 yards in from Pattaya Klang across from Family Mart. Place is called V&M Terrace. It's a small hotel with an open lobby and bar with pool table and sports on the TV. Variety of falang brekkies on offer, American, German, English etc. Small swimming pool in the front, not plush by any means, but I just want to cool off and have fun with the TG. I take a room at the back as its quiet and I can hear birds in the morning and see greenery. Room is big, has cable tv and a/c, new fridge, new electric water heater. Staff is pleasant and helpful and there's a sign-in, double-key lockbox in a room by the front desk. Monthly rate means room is done once a week but the ladies will do it when you want and give extra towels if you slip them some baht away from the front desk. It's a 3-4 min. walk to soi 7/8, baht bus at the door along soi buakhow will get you to walking street, bank around the corner, internet at Top 3 min. away, 5 mins. to soi 6 when you've just gotta go. Daily is 450 and I pay 6700/month plus metered electric and water. All in about 8000. I'm happy with it and see no need to pay 12-15,000/month or 1,000 a night. If I save 4-5000 baht then that's 8 or 10 STs or 4-5LTs straight to the bottom line. As for the places you mention, I considered Vinai but its a little out of the loop for me. I stayed at SkyTop for 2 nights but the room was very dark, like a cell so I checked out and that's when I found V&M.
  8. Emil, Talking papers, briefing notes, speeches all samesame game for sure. I remember that kind of crap all too well. My intructions were often along the lines of, "Give him 20 minutes but don't say anything." Often the pusillanimous bosses would be afraid to credit us with any brains so would invent stupid reasons why we had to say or do something instead of showing us some respect and leveling with us. I had one fave boss though. In my job interview, I asked what the big boss was like. She didn't blink, just said, "You know, at the convention, it's hookers in the hotel..." I sat there and thought, "God, do I want to work with you!" She'd go to a top level meeting and come back and say "We have to do this because blabla...the real agenda is..." Best boss I ever had: great, smart and tough as nails.
  9. As a former political speechwriter (paid liar) I can vouch that the guy who gives the speech is the last to see it!
  10. Haven't used the airport so can't tell you. Jomtien beach is nicer than Pattaya beach but that's not saying a lot. They are not the Caribbean or Hawaii by a long shot. Jomtien is quieter, more laid back but you have to take a songthiaew each way, 20 baht each guy but late at night you may have to pay 100 for a taxi. Jomtien also is gay central. Doesn't mean they are everywhere and hassle you but it bothers some people to see fat falangs with young Thai boys.
  11. The poll took that into account and that's why you're only going to live to 88.6
  12. madwizard, Excellent post, a perfect way to have a great time without throwing your money down the hole. Couldn't agree more that STs are a great way to find who is worthwhile and who isn't. Costs you 700 to find out who is fun, way better than 2500 for a stunnerfish. I wish I had learned this earlier in my Pattaya career! Thanks.
  13. Shape of things to come, I think. The land between 2nd and Beach Rds is too valuable to have beer bars on it, the real value is in malls and hotels. But, all is not lost. Look at the beer bar construction east of 2nd Rd and soi Buakhow. My guess is that the city worthies certainly don't want to kill the golden goose as the eggs pay for a lot of things, however they will shunt the nightlife away from the prime real estate and contain it in a less conspicuous location. No pompem, beer is beer and girls are girls so no big deal where they are, IMO.
  14. Been a member for 4 days and you're off and running, aren't you? Living a life made of assumptions. Grow up, son.
  15. jbmiller, Some travel agents do but you can go to the station by moto taxi (its the other side of Suk Road), just say rot fai (lot fye) and book it there with no commission. Flash, the website for Thai Railways has never worked out for me maybe the hamster running the server is tired
  16. Young Thai girls samesame falang girls, have poster Blad Pitt, Backstleet Boy etc etc...
  17. No, here's how it works: The car has single seats facing each other. The porter pulls the seat bottoms toward the middle, he flips down the seat backs and it makes a single bed. He then lays a thin mattress over, covers with a freshly laundered sheet, leaves a pillow and blanket. You draw a curtain for your privacy and there is a reqading light and hooks to hang up your clothes. Very comfy and perfectly clean. First class you get a little room to share with a friend but its almost 2X the price. Thai food on the train is adequate but avoid the falang food as its real crap like microwaved eggs and dried out ham. Once was enough for me. 10 pm everybody beds down and off to sleep. Its mostly Thai families and a few backpackers so no noisy stupids as the Thais will call the man to shut them up. Aisles are full of luggage and shopping bags as the Thais have been shopping in BKK. Its all very decent and you can't beat a clean comfy bed plus trnsport for 730 or so.
  18. I didn't know that. Thanks for elucidating this.
  19. The best way, IMHO, is the 2nd Class sleeper, a/c, lower berth because you get more room and a window. Its about 730 baht and you get a comfy bed and arrive about 8:30 am refreshed. It leaves BKK around 7:30pm. Take your own bumwad.
  20. rob, chances are these guys have been divorced too, who the hell would want to be married to them? I think what guys are talking about is the attitude they get from these women. Other women with more moxie get themselves off to Africa or the Caribbean to get poked just as we go to LoS. Hypocrisy, unfortunately, is a human characteristic and will be with us for a long to come.
  21. so why do you go to pattaya? just asking.
  22. bangkapiboy, The way some of these sourpusses look at a punter with a girl suggests they aren't having a great time and just want something more to bitch and whine about.
  23. was the baht bus totaled?
