Its always higher at Chinese New Year but that's a ridiculous price. Find out when CNY ends and book a week after if you can. Did you get that price from Eva or a bucket shop? Try www.anyway.com

I only fly Eva from the west coast. Pay the extra few $$ and take Evergreen deluxe, its worth it.

Gun ownership in Thailand
JohnnyK replied to jackcorbett's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
jackcorbett, Where you live, or how keen a collector you are, or your childhood and history books and hobbies while growing up in America have ZERO to do with Thai law or gun regulations. It's another country. If you try to bring them in it is possible they could be confiscated. The best advice given so far is go see a good Thai lawyer. -

Here it comes... -
I like Eva Evergreen Deluxe. I'm just 5'10" so the seat lets me sleep. Food is average airline stuff. I book through a Taiwanese travel agent who gets me $100 off the website price. What I really like is that it goes out of Vancouver at 1:50am so I pop 2 gravol, put on the eyeshade and wake up an hour out of Taipei. Taipei airport at 5:30am is quiet and the connector gets me to BKK at 11:30am. I'm knocking on the door at Eden right at opening time. Then I'm on to PTY, arriving around 6:30pm just in time to be hauled in by a cutie (or 2).
-
My guess is that there could be savings on flight+hotel packages but not just on flights.
-
If you're in Europe check out www.ayway.com I got 520 Euro for Paris-BKK last trip. I thought the 4 hour layover in Dubai was worth the 75 Euro saving over the next cheapest.

Roy, sorry for late reply...it wasn't. I didn't take her up on it as I had just arrived and wanted to get across the road to soi6 to see a proven performer with great attitude. Maid turned out to be a bit of a limpet, always interrogating me with "where you go? I go wit you." This wore thin quite quickly so I changed digs after a coupla days. Don't know if she's still there. Cheers -
Major plans are finally improved which will change the face of Walking Street and South Pattaya Beach forever. How long is forever in Pattaya? 15 minutes? 6 months? 5 years? for(n)ever? I'm sure the compensation will be "fair" :crying To whom remains to be seen.

travelling to pattaya alone
JohnnyK replied to sinkorswim's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Busta, you forgot an ESSENTIAL question.... You sa-moke? If the answer is "Can" then move on as it means less than dead cert. If the answer is a crisp and immediate "Yes" then the appropriate reply is, "I pay bar for you." -
Jack's taking no chances, he's not sure if there will be enough pussy in Pattaya! Chances are there will be some available, you may have to search for it though. Have a good trip! Cheers
-
Thanks for the pics Mark. I've heard pros and cons about Nana but it seems to be alright for the price and location and the pool looks good. Cheers

Someone said to me, beware of low maintenance fees as this can mean the building is going to seed (along with your investment) and there is no money in the contingency fund for serious problems down the road.
-
But not as exciting as being OnMyWay Have a good trip (and don't spare the rude details, mate).

Emil is right. If you don't care about "luxury" stay at V&M Terrace on soi Buakhow about 75 yards in from Central Road across from Family Mart. Guest friendly, good-sized clean rooms, cable, a/c, small pool, nice friendly staff, dual key sign-in lock-box in the lobby, pool table, decent little open air bar with sports on tv. Rooms at the back are best: quiet, you can see trees and hear birds singing when you open the window in the morning (if you are awake or when you come home). Walk 5 mins. around the corner to soi 7/8, quick baht bus 5 mins to soi 6 or Big C. Walking Street a bit further away but I'm not a WS guy so no pompem. ATM and full bank service with FX around the corner and fast cheap 24/7 internet at Top Centre just 5 min walk also around the corner. Price? 6700/month plus electric and water charges so, all in, about 8,000/month. This leaves much more money to be spent where it should be spent. Works for me. Sanuk.

Forgot to add, I stayed there 2 nights last spring and was offered a BJ by the maid within minutes of starting to unpack my suitcase. -
Suitcase, First, good job blowing the whistle on that scumbag weasel Harris and welcome. Hard to say how much money you need, it will depend on your tastes. What hotel level is acceptable? All levels are available from CDN$8/day to $250/day. A decent hotel with A/C and pool can be found for CDN$20/day. How much do you drink? Do you have to drink your face off every night or can you moderate your intake and avoid spending CDN$50/day just on beer? Do you have to eat falang food or are you ok with Thai street food and Thai nosheries? In the girl department, do you want high-priced "stunners" or nice, friendly, good-looking beer bar girls? A quickie with a stunner can cost CDN$30-35 or $15 with a beer bar or soi 6 girl. For performance the BBG/soi 6 will most likely be better. What other activities do you enjoy? Fishing? Diving? Golf? etc etc They are all here and you can spend on all of them. In general, it will be much cheaper than anything in North America or Europe and for "fun value" its hard to beat. rb is right, don't overplan as its not like anywhere you've been before and you will want to go with the flow and you have 6 weeks to do that. Good luck mate! Oh yeah, bring your own raincoats... Thai boots are small diamenter and thick.
-
You say there are two of you...well, do you mean 1 guy 1 woman or 2 guys or 2 women? If you're with your wife/GF then maybe spend your $ elsewhere than Pattaya, maybe Disneyland or Arizona or watch porno at home. If you are 2 guys then you must go to Eden Club in Bangers. In Pattaya, go for a soapie. Barhop down soi 6 for an afternoon, recommended: King Kong, Red Point, Roxy Club. Allow yourself to be molested and taken upstairs. If you are 2 girls then go to Boyztown, some of them are hetero and will happily bang your ass off all night for a nominal fee. Good luck

Its right beside that very big, bright, fancy and empty beer bar complex on 2nd Road. Has a pool table out front. Main advantage is its a 2-minute walk to the delights of soi 6. Owner is Pete from Oz, a nice guy. -
Rusedski's father was a mate of mine in Ogilvie School, grades 4-7. His mum was born in England and came to canada when she was about 2 yrs old. Tennis in Canada is a joke so Greg R. saw that he could live in England legally and make some serious dosh there as a tennis pro. His father, Tommy, had mortaged his house to finance Greg's first years on the tour. Put his money on the line for his son and came up a winner. That's a dad!

Do you mean Lennox?

Ex-Liverpool Manager Bill Shankly once was asked on the eve of a big game, "Is this game a matter of life and death?" "Oh, its much more important than that," he replied.

BiGD, you could house-sit the owner's condo for a small fee, say 5,000 a month.
