It's just around the corner from Bangla Road where all the action is. I was staying away from the action and it cost 100 baht for a tuk-tuk.

Hi What are vacancies like at the moment? A friend may be going around mid-Nov but he likes to see a place before booking in so he doesn't like to book on the net. He is very price concious and the rate seems ok for him and near soi 6,7,8.

Hi The weakness in this argument is that these people are crooks in suits. I had treatment in PIH, very good hospital, got all my receipts etc. but never got reimbursed on return. Maybe if I spent the rest of my life chasing them up they might have paid up. Think I will take my chances from now on, as travel insurance companies seem a scam to me. The same company seem to be scamming Enuekman as I write. How many people think they are insured until that fateful day they have to make a claim ? If you read The Firm you will see that these are deliberate tactics to keep payouts to a minimun.

Hi Rugby will be on all over town. Stars in Eyes (Soi 8, nr Beach Rd) is a good place to watch if you don't want B/Gs distracting your attention from the game.

Hi Seeing nobody else replied I checked out website though I have never stayed there. Seems good value for money, near Walking St, Beach Rd etc. Sure its not as good as Sandy etc but 1/3 rd the price. I would stay there as I like to spend my dosh on local delicacies rather than expensive hotels. See what other answers you get.

Hi Think the best idea is to leave your luggage somewhere, and walk around to find places. Plenty of places for 4-500 baht that will be ok. I stayed in a place on 2nd Rd Pattaya that was only 300 when my lady didn't want to come back to my hotel. It had all amenities mentioned.

Hi Been there when SARS was big news. Bit scary to see people in airport with face masks on , but survived it ok. I think if it ever transfers to humans you will as likely get it in the West as the East. I'd travel but take medical advice without getting too paranoid. We seem to be living in dangerous times wherever in the world we are.
