A Google search seems to give a couple of possibilities for Taxigood. You might want to be more specific.

Got the passport back today with the new extension. Of course, that was anticipated after they accepted the package yesterday, but it's not done until it's done. I had seen multiple reports that the income letter was good for up to three months. Still, in light of the reports of immigration imposing new requirements, I had made an appointment at US citizen services in Bangkok for Monday just in case. I just canceled that.

This was Jomtien immigration.

The Los Angeles consulate website is informative on the requirements for the multi entry visa. It looks like they only want one bank statement. http://www.thaiconsulatela.org/service_visa_detail.aspx?link_id=32 Yes, some of the other requirements would be a pain. The single entry visa with less onerous requirements is still available.

Haven't seen anything to suggest you could not do so, but I converted off the old version tourist visa last year so that isn't personal experience.

I just came back from submitting my new retirement extension application. All things considered, it went pretty well. Stopped off at one of the shops on Soi 5, got my photos, copies and the application completed for 150 baht. At immigration, the young woman at the front counter, in school uniform, checked my forms and gave me my number. There were only three people ahead of me for retirement extensions. At the retirement desk, the woman checked the package determined one more page of the passport needed to be copied and did it right there. She had me sign two copies of the form

I had my first calzone at Pastrami on Rye, in my case sausage and mushroom. It was hot, very good and far more food than I should eat at one time. I don't think that calling it a folded pizza quite does it justice. I passed on the red sauce but I very rarely add sauce to my food. As I expected, it definitely is not a pastie.

For those of us going the other way and transiting Seoul Incheon, as I am at the end of next month, North Korea has been jamming GPS signals. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-northkorea-southkorea-gps-idUSKCN0X81SN

International transfers (American Bank to Thai Bank)
nkped replied to simplelife's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
For future reference, made an ACH transfer from my US bank to Bangkok Bangkok on April 11. My access to phone/internet was intermittent most of last week and I was a bit concerned when I saw it had not posted to my Bangkok Bank account by Friday. Then I checked and saw there was bank holidays April 13-15. I was quite happy to see the message this morning that the transfer had posted. Glad I did not have a pressing need for the money. -
Under 300 Baht ... And Good! (updated July 4, 2022)
nkped replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
Just had the chicken karma curry special at the Jomtien Pig & Whistle for 190 baht. As usual, it was excellent although I have some trouble considering it a western dish. Most of their other menu items come in under 300 baht and are quite good. Many, such as the gammon steak, fall in the comfort food category, but there is nothing wrong with that. -
New rules for Songkran from the govt
nkped replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
For Songkran 1975 in Nakhon Phanom, I remember young Thai guys waiting at bus stops to throw buckets of water through the entrance and windows of passing buses. We discovered that old bus actually had windows and they could be closed. The poor bus driver had to open the door at stops and was drenched. -

Of course there are a good number of armed bears in Thailand as it is. I wonder if there are instances where that happens now. -
All American Hotdogs & Snow Cones: The weird combo
nkped replied to Gabor's topic in Restaurants and food
I finally took the effort to find this place. When I walked in, the AC was off. I very nearly did a U turn. The staff recognized the issue and turned the AC on and directed me to the table to get maximum benefit. I don't order hot dogs in a sit down restaurant and eventually settled on the Philly cheese steak. It was a smaller sandwich than I anticipated, but I am one of those for whom that is not, objectively, a bad thing. It turned out to be quite a tasty sandwich. Visually you couldn't spot any cheese but you could taste it. It comes with a few chips (crisps to some of you). -

Here's a link to a map of BHP. https://www.bangkokpattayahospital.com/en/contact-us/hospital-directory-en.htmlThe parking garage appears to be close to the dialysis center and there are elevators and ramps. On the other hand, I seem to recall my brother being pretty worn out after a dialysis session. Driving in Pattaya might not be the best thing at that point.

What, in general terms, is the benefit of Premium Economy v. Economy and the price differential?

I was thinking of your wife, but congratulations to your daughter on getting her certification --time flies. I'm sure she would enjoy a trip to Thailand.

Perhaps he will travel with his own nurse.:-)

I was BYOG, but I don't remember anyone who would have checked.

My brother was on dialysis for a couple of years so I have some small inkling of what is involved and the impact of dialysis. I would make the arrangements in advance so that you could have an actual appointment. Check your PM for a point about filling insurance claims.

A couple days ago, I ate something which disagreed with me high order. Had the predictably unpleasant night. Then, yesterday it was a real challenge to drink water and I was concerned about dehydration. I've had experience in this regard and decided it was time to go see a doctor before it reached the point of renal failure. I had the bright idea of going to the Bangkok Hospital South Pattaya branch which is on the east side Sukhumvit more or less opposite the Big C. They're not at all busy. I got to see a (the?) doctor, very young, within 15 minutes. While I am sure she was compe
