  1. Unless you are an Arsenal supporter methinks (hope I'm wrong wrt league; I'd like to see at least a 3 horse race, ideally 4, for the final week). My "spidey senses" though are suggesting it is time for the "traditional" collapse out of all competitions within a fortnight for them.I see Leicester have already posted their 3 points last night.
  2. Yes, I had almost exactly the same scenario about 2 years ago, although they were more convivial; But there was no stamp indicating 24 at all made in my passport. It was a bit annoying as I knew there could be a "niggle" and so went to clear immigration the day before (0130 flight, so I went through at 2300), which would be within the date limits. However, they insisted that the scheduled flight time was the deciding factor, and not clearing immigration.
  3. As both of your legs are on A380s, you will arrive and leave from the same (dedicated A380) terminal. As Jacko says, painless; with the added beauty of being able to board direct from the "enormous" biz class lounge.
  4. Was he in the 2000 one too? Anybuts.... let's move on Austin Powers Goldmember (So many choices !!!! )
  5. Ho-hum! Blues Brothers 2000 (yet again)
  6. Just listened to this groups compilation, buried away on one of my ipods, for the first time in ages. What a brilliant track this was; incredible vocals, lyrics and a superbly interwoven symphony of instruments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYCUQ81vJYw And for the lovers of live versions, the much looser and more raucous version......He really did sing like that all of the time!
  7. Purely because Frith's 2nd attempt was yet another repeat , I'm gonna take this back again because Henry Gibson does fit, and therefore nobody's time has been wasted Ever the diplomat! The Blues Brothers
  8. I think you've done him before We may be running out of actors for this "brill" film, but an obvious one is still there I reckon.
  9. "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark......and we're wearing sunglasses" The Blues Brothers
  10. Not if they have oversubscription in Economy they don't; As with all the airlines, an economy fare is better than no fare at all. I was in the presence of a "confessed" upgrade pax with Cathay from Hong Kong to UK last year.
  11. Mixed reports on those, but mostly poor. They are very old aircraft. Herringbone Biz class, but they do have 8 x 1st class seats (Rows 1&2 )which would be worth trying to get if they are just running their normal 2 class fares on the 777s. That walk from Terminal 1 to 3 on the BKK - UK leg seems to be standard practice, with them parking the plane out on the tarmac and bussing you in on the BKK - AUH flight. They were doing that 4 years ago when I last used them. Pain in the arse!, especially having to deal with that internal immigration mayhem. I wrote 3 "Mr Angry" letters to them ab
  12. 24 hours again.Yet another one where the star/diredtor has surrounded himself with largely inconsequential actors. Anyway this one, probably the best option, was in quite a few movies, and did get nominated for an Oscar a couple of times. I personally wouldn't be able to respond to his name though; Best of luck Charles Durning
  13. Mass "raspberry" winner:Striptease
  14. A cave in on the "Elgin Marbles" back to Greece would probably mark the start of any mass clamour IMHO. (For years as a kid and young man I was under the impression that they were an ancient set of toy glass balls knicked from the Scottish borders ! )
  15. A bit like the bar fines and ST/LT rates then !
  16. Actually that one has been in force for as long as I can remember; It's to stop genuine artefacts (including those that have not yet been identified as such) being removed from the Kingdom. Co-incidentally British museums and institutions are packed with many such artefacts from ages gone by, quite a lot of which are "wanted back" by various countries!
  17. I know you need the reverse flights Jacko, but Emirates have just sent me a mailshot with a greatly reduced 1st Class offer of 3,200 Pounds, via their website. Biz fare much same as normal though, unfortunately.
  18. Is that vile slapheaded little runt on the TV (Sleasy Visa) "in on the act"?
  19. I bet they don't try Bohemian Rhapsody from "A Night at the Opera". Barcelona could be a "goer" though!
