  1. The bad point with Phillippine dropping their flights though, was it gave the remaining "direct" flight airlines the opportunity to hoik the prices, which of course, they did!
  2. Just about every airline I have looked at seem to be on offer at the moment (mostly book before 27th April) Etihad even had a Biz fare for just under £1200 return to UK yesterday. £1500 cut on 1st for Emirates too, on their website at the moment.

You are right...And a nice little "earner" it is for them too!
  4. I don't know of that, maybe in its early days. I used it once, when I had some work in Singapore... Nice plane & service, typical of Singapore Air, but the Munich stop for over an hour in my case, where they don't let you get off the plane is a bit of a drag. Not a cheap option either, Biz mor expensive than 1st with other airlines.
  5. Yes, Stoke were dismal on Monday, but Spurs did play well too. One of the more heartening things about the Spurs side, is in general, it is the English players that are really excelling, which can only help the cause this summer. City dropped points again this morning; ..... Have to live in faint hope that they or Arsenal falter even more, but I doubt it!
  6. Gawd!- he stretches back to the silent movies, but I think he was dad in all of the Lassie films, so Lassie come home
  7. Nah...Thai mooted it a few years back, but it never came to fruition. I think Singapore is the only direct Far East destination from outside Heathrow/Gatwick; and even that sits on the tarmac at Munich for an hour or so, on its way.
  8. At the risk of being "contentious"... Pollyanna
  9. I recently sold the Fatboy in my avatar for nearly twice what I paid for it. Not customised at all, but a collectors piece nonetheless. I also nearly did a silly thing, and almost bought the 103 Soft-tail pictured above, before being talked out of it by the missus. Nearly 1700cc of motorbike engine on a big heavy bike is to quote a movie " No place for old men"! To be honest I was struggling a bit with the Fatboy, last time I gave it a run.
  10. Must flog my old sextant to a trans-Pacific pilot !!!

  12. There are no direct flights from UK to Bangkok, unless you live in or around Cockneyville. (Heathrow and Gatwick are probably amongst the worst airports in the world for transit passangers!) As for general workers in Dubai airport, they are in general all Filipino or Nepalese, with a few Indians. Security at Dubai (now these are Arab, and highly screened themselves), especially non-transit, is probably tighter than Heathrow, it is certainly more stringent, and I have to endure it regularly.
  13. Yes, and the time is ripe for United to recruit/purloin Pocahontas from Spurs right now, to fully integrate and improve the talent already at the club. LVG would not have made any moves in that direction, were he not to have his hand forced by chronic injuries. The "favoured by the masses" Mourinho does not work in that way (I would like to hear an honest reason from Lukaku as to why he was so desperate to get away from the Mourinho/Chelski set up, as I feel it may be relevant), and I think the time has passed for his employment; He really should have taken over from Ferguson. I personally wou
  14. I think it might be the preparation involved that puts the price up, with the cooking to a certain temperature etc. I find Japanese restaurants tend to import more often than other nationalities (even in UK) when they have concerns over freshness or hygiene. Hence relative priciness.
  15. Agreed.... About the first time this season that LVG has given the call to go out and play an attacking game; Unless the players ignored him of course ! Yet another brilliant game this morning at Anfield too; I really didn't think that they could come-back in that match. Dortmund fans looked absolutely devastated in the ground, long after the final whistle. Klopp has got some "previous total liabilities" playing really well there now, (Lovren, Sakho, Origi etc.) and I think they will be a force next season, with a fit squad and maybe a top-class goalkeeper. Both he and Pocahontas down at Spur
  16. I haven't seen the plans, but many other ex-athletics stadium that I have been to, has the terraces far to remote from the pitch, especially behind the goals, for my liking. Having said that, The Etihad at Manchester was converted quite well.
  17. I'm glad you have now come round to my way of thinking, with the latter part of your opening gambit beginning "an attempt at a thinly disguised hatchet job............" quoting one of my posts verbatim.Care to give a source for the first part re "garbage for under 300Baht.....", which you have cobbled onto the front? Google searches have proved fruitless.
  18. Excellent game yesterday between West Ham and Arsenal, but the resulting draw was no good for either teams aspirations. It is hard to see any team breaking into the current top 4 now, and I would think Leicester could pretty much have it in the bag, were we to turn over Tottenham, regardless of their own result against a "fighting" set of Mackems, today. On a bit of a tangent, ...but the atmosphere at that Europa Cup match in Dortmund against Liverpool, was absolutely stupendous. Can you imagine that sort of welcome and "bon accord" to both the football club and a returning manager, being
  19. Sorry to sound a bit "Farage-ish" but them chickens are just not right !!!!!
  20. Yes.. I didn't really have my US "cells" engaged with regards to my "almost impossible" quote earlier. I imagine that it wouldn't really matter where you are, if you have to insure for medical costs at home anyway. It is probably cheaper in Thailand (even Bangkok Hospital prices) than in the States anyway, so in theory they should willingly pay up for treatment!
  21. I know Bangkok Hospital Pattaya does it to a high standard, but it cost an acquaintance of mine almost 10,000 Baht a pop, a couple of years ago. They may do a reduced price for multiple sessions, but I wouldn't bank on it. I believe Pattaya International Hospital also offer a service, but they are unlikely to be any cheaper, but they do deal in "special offer packages" for different ailments at random times. I personally would not use the place for anything, but some people must, for it to remain in business. Unless you can get this on insurance, and I would imagine that to be almost impossib
