hi just a word about wheelchair access I read about a hotel in the hotel review section that had some dedicated rooms for the disabled with all the usual facillaties I cant remember where it was but i think it was out of town in jontiem but a search through the reviews may prove useful hope you get there as its great for all us blokes ps im arthritic and use a stick

hi ISJS_UK I stayed in the lek from 27june to 25july your girl must leave her ID card,and they phone you when she leaves in the morning to see if you are all right, and have not been robbed,they do not charge any joiners fees though I only ever had 1 visitor at atime. The pool is great and of a decent size food comes as a breakfast buffet and dinner buffet both quite good in value and choice they also have room service at reasonable prices. prices were for my stay 700baht but this was low season you should get a standard room for about 800/850and I FEEL THIS IS A GREAT VALUE HOTEL IN A GREAT

It s the LEK for me on soi 13 with large pool good food great staff and its a cheap hotel between 7/800 for standard room in low season and its quiet and girl friendly will stay there next time im in LOS jack

hi as far as money goes if you have TCs you pay 1%for them in UK but when you sell them for baht in thailand you get almost 1%more than if you bring cash and they cant get "stolen or lost" cause if you havent signed them you can get your money back,as for creditcards why use them as everyone charges you extra for their use and there is the everpresent likelihood of fraud JACK ps as you get of the plane at the airport in BKK there are many exchange counters before you need to spend anything so there is little need to change any money before you leave the UK

my bet for the money would be the Lek on soi13 a good clean hotel with plenty of hot water a pool and room service as for the distances at 60+I wouldnt think you would want to walk it, so baht buses are only minutes for a journy from one end of town to the other.i have just returned from pattaya after a month in the lek i didnt walk anywhere it was too hot jack

hi all I just got back on thusday night from a great 5weeks but it has been slightly overshadowed by the fact that the ROLEX i bought in bkk just opposite the majestic hotel has lost 2 hands in 3days i payed very little I know but please beware jack

if you want to use a pool the pool at the dynasty is a little small the Lek hotel opposite is cheaper and has a great pool though the dynasty is a newer hotel so it UP toYOU jack

hi jnr I stayed in a superior room at the flipper and it is the same size as the standard room at the lek and the large or superior room at the lek is down mostly to the view.I stayed at the lek most of july in a standard room with no view and didnt miss it one bit as i was either sleeping or otherwise engaged I think the Lek is the best placed hotel right in the middle of the action on soi 13 jack ps the bed in the superior room at the flipper is a little larger

hi I stayed in the Lek hotel opposite the building site 27june till25thjuly and the sound of the work was never a problem in the room at any time though i did have to swim in the pool right oppisite the works while they pumped concrete one day but i was not bothered by any excessive noise and used the sportsmans bar as my restuaraunt and local every day and it is right next door but one from the site, so unless you are very sensitive to noise its no problem jack ps i think the work has stopped to let the first concrete pour to harden pps the most noise on any building site is when they are

hi BIGDusa I would love to go to the places mentioned but I really love getting in the pool in the aftenoon and hate to go to far for this service,a safty box would be more important still cause im going for 5weeks and will have quite a lump of cash and TCs on hand that i dont want to lose.
