  1. Dang... I walked by there many times and told myself that I would try their steak. Never did. FatherMojo
  2. Yeah, I read some stories on thaivisa where people have been killed and when the relatives of the deceased went to the police the first question was basically... "How much baht you got?" Sad state of affairs. FatherMojo
  3. I said it once and I'll say it again... "Nana by the sea." G'teed success. The owners could set up the bars and require that all liquor purchases run through them. Just take 5 baht per can of beer and 30 baht per bottle of spirits and something from the draft sales. Easy as pie. Or turn it into some type of wellness location with organic foods. As it is now, it will just look like the Made in Thailand complex or any other non-air conditioned place selling wares. Who wants to go shopping is the scorching heat. FatherMojo
  4. Looks very clean and nice! I found this link... http://www.pattayapeople.com/default.asp?F...IdArticle=25129 Looks like they opened a new building! FatherMojo
  5. Sounds good, but can you tell us any landmarks close to this place. Most of us have no idea where 348/17 M,9 SoiBuakhao is. Wait... is this the place? http://www.soidb.com/en/pattaya/stay/hotel/d_apartment.html Any inside pics would be welcome... Thanks, FatherMojo
  6. Actually, I always thought that a Pook type establishment would be a huge hit there. The street is does not have tons of vehicle traffic which should remove any shyness for the virgin lb aficionado. FatherMojo
  7. 5 go-gos? Maybe Soi LK Metro will become something like how Pattayaland was many years ago. One street with several go-gos which brought in the punters. I do hope that it happens as it gives people more of a choice in where to go. FatherMojo
  8. And she did not report this to management to have him, the snake or both booted out? FatherMojo
  9. I think that themed go-gos are good for business. A way for each place to brand themselves as something a little different from others. And face it, a lot of guys like to see girls in uniform and the uniforms at Airport have been pretty much a hit with the punters. Also, how many guys would not mind being frisked by one of the the (hopefully) cuties at Alcatraz while she is dressed in her outfit... FatherMojo
  10. I could never understand why people drive while drunk in Pattaya. There are enough ways to get home without rolling the dice on getting home while drunk. For the guys who wish to drive home drunk, please leave your ATM cards, bank details along with all associated passwords, account numbers etc, with me. Don't worry, the funds will be put to good use. Thanks! FatherMojo
  11. LOL - customer service at its finest. I read the postings and they were entertaining. If anyone is interested, here is the link: http://www.pattayadailynews.com/en/bb/viewtopic.php?t=5152 Have fun, FatherMojo
  12. I thought that it was 3 baht to send an SMS from your phone while in Thailand, maybe I was wrong about that. If you are not in Thailand, I know for a fact that it can cost 20 baht to send from Japan, but there is a discount plan you can apply for which is valid for 10 days and 20 messages with a cost of 15 baht per. So you can see that it is indeed quite a bargain. This is cheaper than SKYPE which comes in at a little over 2 baht per message. FatherMojo
  13. AIS 1-2 Call Website to send SMS for 1 baht + VAT of 0.07 = 1.07 baht/sms For those with a Thai phone number and wish to send SMS's to Thai based phones here is the link. https://12calleservice.ais.co.th/EPPWeb/index.html If you are overseas and want to send, the website works so if you are a busy SMS person, this could save you some baht. The site also has descriptions of the current available calling plans. Input your Thai phone number, and a one time password will be sent to you. Input it and you are on your way. Enjoy! FatherMojo
  14. Please do not increase the volume of the music. Pattaya has more than enough loud music venues to assault the senses. FatherMojo
  15. From what I understand all the mobile companies pay a fee to pass through CAT's networks which earns CAT 15 billion baht per year. Once 3G is set-up, the other carriers (AIS, True, DTAC), will no longer need to pass through CAT's networks reducing CAT's revenue by 15 billion baht. Obviously 15 billion baht is a nice piece of change and CAT is doing everything it can to hang to that money as long as possible. FatherMojo
  16. Another mark against this place is that it is located on something of a dead end (cul de sac) so foot traffic will be mostly limited to people who have a reason to be on the Soi. Probably worth 8-10k with no key money and 10 baht on the 100 baht for the furnishings. FatherMojo
  17. The train system in HK rocks! But this one.... Based on the article below, it looks like the Airport Rail Link was not completely thought through. Hopefully, someone from the board will have a chance to try it and post a review. Oh, Poor Airport Link BANGKOK: -- Finally, the Airport Rail Link is officially opened for commercial services on Monday (Aug 23), after seven years of construction. The high-speed trains, though, do not look as new as they should. In fact, they look as if they had been bought at a clearance sale. Even Chinese trains look far more dashing. Th
  18. Many, many times I passed by this food stand (only open from late afternoon) located at the corner of Soi Buakao and South Pattaya Road. I think they serve a couple of different chicken dishes. Dish 1 is fried chicken and rice and Dish 2 is yellow rice with fall off the bone chicken. I tried Dish 2... That stuff was good, good, good! A simple soup is included along with sweet chili sauce to add to the rice. I think it was 40 baht in total. I recommend this place as an additional spot to try if you want a delicious, quick meal and want to expand your list of places to eat.
  19. Hopefully, your phone has a USB port... If so just connect your computer to the phone and copy the MP3 of the audio book into the phone. Wait... are the audio books in a format readable by your phone? FatherMojo
  20. I have not been inside that ShabuSushi place, but it is very popular across all - tourists and locals alike. It looks clean, bright and fresh so I can understand the attraction. Next time I am in town, I will give it a try. FatherMojo
  21. Here is a copy of the menu... And the flip side. Sorry for the quality of the photos. FatherMojo
  22. Nice video... Enjoy! FatherMojo
  23. Looks very nice and clean! Hope you can rent it soon... FatherMojo
