  1. Also I believe that there are beneficial tax rules to the landowner for key money. I think it might be taxed lower than monthly rent. FatherMojo
  2. That is great!!!
  3. Try Classroom on Soi Pattayaland. My foggy memory says that the girls wear fishnets... Or just buy a few pairs and go for it. FatherMojo
  4. This looks like a good deal and a creative owner, or the girlfriend could expand a bit with a simple menu of both Thai and Western foods to increase sales. The space is already there, so c'mon guys, somebody's girl could do well with this. FatherMojo
  5. Format factory is good and this link is good to: http://www.media-convert.com/ FatherMojo
  6. Thanks for the update. And thanks for the g-string shot also. FatherMojo
  7. That sounds interesting, but when the goal posts are not stable it causes too much trouble with people who have families. I read where they asked one guy for pictures of his wedding, nothing wrong with that. Then the next cycle they asked for more pictures of his wedding
  8. The biggest problem that I have read about with immigration is that the rules are up to interpretation by the officer so people do not know what will happen when they apply for a visa or extension. The rule says something but the officer has his/her own ideas and the applicant is left dangling. FatherMojo
  9. I think this place is located at the back end of the Soi Bukaow market. I have not been there myself, but have not heard any good reports about this place. If you search the forum there are a couple of reviews. FatherMojo
  10. I have stayed at both and they are pretty much the same with the exception of the safety box set-up. With J&P the safety boxes are directly behind the front desk and with the Opey, the safety boxes are in a separate room behind the front desk. I really cannot remember any other major differences between the two places. FatherMojo
  11. Golden Oldie, I have stayed there before and here is a short review of the place. http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...&hl=butcher As far as I know, they do not have a website. FatherMojo
  12. Looking on Thaivisa, there are many stories about teachers needing their degree along with a TESOL or a CELTA. There was also a scam of a certification test with a 90%+ fail rate for the teachers. If the teacher failed an additional course would be needed for the princely sum of 60k baht... The training included Thai traditional dance At the present time I think these courses have been eliminated but they may come back in the future... FatherMojo
  13. The only way I can think of is if you buy a SIM card on Ebay and have the guy open the package and turn it on and then send it to you. Make sure that he turns it on for roaming. That is the only way I can think of. Other than that, if you have a friend in Thailand, they can do the samething. Have fun, FatherMojo
  14. I first read this as Mary has gone out and purchased a new Platinum hairdo Hope the party is great. FatherMojo
  15. Good report win. Nice pictures too. FatherMojo
  16. Big picture... You should use something to resize your pics. Here is some good software that is free and easy to use: http://www.irfanview.com/ or http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm Then you could post more pics. Why not add your ad here: www.roomdaddy.com Small forum, trying to make it big. Have fun! FatherMojo
  17. The place looks clean and tidy. But the downside is that crossing 3rd Road at that intersection is akin to playing Death Race 2000. Just run, don't look back and don't fall down... FatherMojo
  18. Absolutely correct! I recall years ago an escort service got busted in San Jose, Ca. On the books were ladies of all shapes sizes and colors which surprised me as I always thought of escorts being of the "superfine" category. But as they say, one man's meat is another man's poison. FatherMojo
  19. I went by that place a couple of times during the day. It looks nicely laid out, but I never saw more than 2~3 customers there. I hope that their business picks up. FatherMojo
  20. I popped into the Armagedon Guest House over the holidays. I did not get to visit the rooms as they were fully occupied. However, the bar area has been done up on the expensive side and I presume that the rooms are the same. Perhaps this is why the price has been upped to 1k baht. FatherMojo
  21. Actually, that my be the easiest solution. FatherMojo
  22. www.baywalkresidencepattaya.com A new hotel has opened on Beach Road called Baywalk Residence Pattaya. It is located very close to Royal Garden in that newly built out area called Thaiwat City Walk. It is a great location. I took a look around the place and took a few pictures and made some observations. The rooms are large and the ones I visited seemed nicely laid out. The prices are on the high side but from now until 31 January 2009 the prices are reasonable. A phone and a notepad to scribble down your dreams from the night before. Remote controllers! Hmmm... No DVD player? They have 70 rooms of which there are 7 types and I will list the current discount price and the nightly rack rate. Superior 1,500/4,500 Deluxe Double 1,800/6,000 Deluxe Twin 2,000/6,500 Executive Deluxe 3,000/8,000 Mini Suite 4,250/10,000 Royal Suite 6,500/17,500 Family Suite 7,000/18,000 Same as above, but for monthly Superior 23,750/50,000 Deluxe Double 25,000/65,000 Deluxe Twin 27,000/70,000 Executive Deluxe 42,000/80,000 Mini Suite 60,000/85,000 Royal Suite 75,000/110,000 Family Suite 85,000/120,000 As you can see, they will be going for the upper end of the market, but I would suspect that discounts will be available through booking with some online consolidators. In fact I just checked online for July and the Superior room is going for 1,800 baht. So maybe the high rack rates are just for marketing to make the customer feel like he/she is getting a good deal. Standard bum gun. The pool is on the roof and you have a nice view of the bay and surrounding area. I could not get a picture of the entire pool as there were people swimming. Here is a shot of that cave thing in the area. I inquired and.... it is going to be a waterfall along with a Thai puppet show. You can even see the top of the tennis court fence at the Marriot. I never knew that the Marriot had tennis courts. Surprises – No in room safe. No tables or chairs on the balcony. No restaurant, but there are a few within the complex. No DVD player. No flat screen TV. I know, but with so many new places I was under the impression that a flat screen TV was pretty much standard. I did not ask about joiner fees so no clue. Doesn't this look a little sparse? No DVD player... Even a Betamax would have added something to the picture. Overall, I would say that this is a nice hotel in a great location and as long as you do not pay those rack rates you should be able to enjoy yourself. Taken from the pool area with the zoom turned on. FatherMojo
  23. You know, we all have seen tacky behaviour in Pattaya by both the guys and girls and I do not consider 1 person as an example of an entire race of people. With that said, I was at a beer bar a few days ago and a gentleman, who appeared of Indian descent, came in with his partner and ordered 1 beer. The partner drank the beer while the other guy just hungout. How can 2 people go to a bar and order 1 beer? It was really sad to see as the guy seemed to play into the stereotype. FatherMojo
  24. Dude, I went by 3Some last night and one of the ladies mentioned some excitement with your leaving the place. Do fill in the details. Thanks! FatherMojo
