Condo investment for rental income in South Pattaya
BigDUSA replied to Piet969's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
IMHO Pattaya is way overbuilt with condo's with many more unit's being built. Pattaya is running short of water. -
Not only does it need spelling out and you haven't managed to do it. Try again.

The above was my response to a post from Gary and I used the whole post I wrote. I still stand by my comment I made back in 2005.

What is a Starfux and what does it have to do with topic?

I look for a specific type of food. If I'm interested in fish and chips. I head to the Queen Vic or Tropical Bert's. I'm willing to try another restaurant. I look on the local TV for suggestions. Last trip I tried the Longhorn Steak house because of the advertising and was served a steak that was tasteless. I won't go there again.

There are loads of available condo's in your price range. Pattaya is seriously over built with many more being built. Check out the classified ads in the Pattaya Mail. Plus walk up Beach Road and look around.

Unfortunately my three week trip is almost over. I leave tomorrow morning. I called the rental agency and told them they could pick up the scooter early. The guy showed up quickly and I had no hassle getting my 5K Baht deposit back. All in all this was a very positive experience for me. For the guy with limited mobility renting a scooter is a workable alternative . I will rent again when I return to Pattaya next year.

Royal Garden Shopping Center is not scooter friendly from the street. You have to go past the entrance on 2nd Road going towards Walking Street about 20 meters and there is a cut out to the sidewalk and you have enough room to navigate to the shopping center.

I had a dead scooter yesterday and called the rental agency. Talked to the guy who rented me the scooter and explained what was wrong. He said he be right over and see if he could fix it. About 20 minutes later he arrived and was unable to repair it. He told me he'd be back within the hour with a replacement. By the time I was back from breakfast. My new scooter had arrived. Good service.

I stopped by the Queen Vic today for the carvery. This time the pea and ham soup was very good. I also tried the beef soup. This was excellent. Prawn salad was fresh. The rest of it was good pub grub. Nothing fancy just good food. Cost was 370 Baht for all you can eat. Good value for the Baht.

I had dinner with another BM at this hotel. I was surprised how ordinary the food tasted. I ordered tomato soup, chef's salad and a club sandwich. It's was merely OK. Service was attentive. I also had one beer. Cost was 1000 Baht including service and tax.

Starbuck's didn't put the local coffee shop out of business. Their customer's put them out of business. Starbuck's offered and continues to offer an excellent product and they charge a premium price for it. I and millions of other customer's are willing to pay the price for very good cup of coffee.
-
What's wrong with choice? Where I live Starbuck's offer three varieties of brewed coffee every day. One blend of coffee is always the same. Personally I like to try different blends. Some I like. Some I don't.

I had dinner tonight at the Queen Vic. I ordered the ham and pea soup and the fish and chips. The soup was mediocre. Not much taste even with salt and pepper added. The fish and chips was excellent. Two large pieces of fish.

I've never stayed at the Queen Vic but a lot of guys are repeat customer's. I've eaten there frequently and they serve good pub grub. Plus your in the middle of soi 6. What's not to like. Enjoy your stay.

Looks to be 16oz.

The good, the not so bad and the ugly. I stopped by the Reef today for lunch. First the good. I ordered the Mexican tortita soup. I've eaten this in the past and it never disappoints. The soup has a bit of a spicy bite to it. Very good soup and the Chief gave me enough time to eat it before the not so bad Philly cheese steak was served. If this were served in Philly they would go out of business. Given that Pattaya is 8000 miles from Philly it wasn't bad. Just mediocre, the roll was OK. The meat was not as greasy and the cheese was bland. Tho onions were OK. Would I order it again. No I would wait until I'm back in the Philly suburbs for a real cheese steak. Now for the ugly. The Reef used to serve tortitia and salsa for free. Now it's 40 Baht.

If they don't do good coffee. Why do they sell so much coffee to so many people everyday? I know they sell good coffee or I wouldn't buy it. Starbuck's at Central Festival has a steady stream of customer's.
-
I agree the price of a good cup of coffee is way over the top.

Kungfa is located on 2nd Road about 200 meters before you get to soi 6. I've eaten there many times and the food is good. I had the spaghetti and meat sauce the other night and it was very tasty The sauce is surprisingly good. Well worth stopping in.

They offer ceramic mugs for in house customer's. I'm open to suggestions for alternative coffee joints.
-
I'm a regular customer back home. I like a good cup of coffee in the morning and Starbuck's in Pattaya floats my coffee boat. A large coffee cost 100 Baht it's more expensive then home. Starbuck's opens at 9AM at their Central Festival Mall.

I don't know the name of this restaurant but it's on the 6th floor and it's furthest from the elevator's on the left side. There's a big golden elephant outside. I met up with Jack Corbett and his girlfriend at the mall and we had lunch together. I like Thai food but I don't like spicy food. She ordered for me and I had a very tasty shrimp with noddles, veggies and egg dish. I also ordered a large bottle of Heineken. The food was tasty and the price for everything came to 200 Baht. Just like the guest house I stay at it was good value for the Baht

I'd stick to the major brands. Better quality control and they know how engineer good sound.
