  1. I just checked their website, and it seems they have several offerings for rooms, including the Presidential Suite, the Ambassador Suite, and the Superior Room. Everyone I know stayed in the Superior Room, which was quite nice...but the Presidential Suite could get expensive. Here is the link to their room description http://www.pattayaheartcenter.com/en/tmain.php?module=rooms Sorry to hear about your father. Best of luck and wishing him a fast recovery!
  2. 1000 GPB/day? That's near 50K THB/day. Is he in intensive care or on life support? A room there is less than 10k/day I think (200 GBP) I've not been hospitalized there, but I have friends who have, and as I recall the private room rates were reasonable...and very nice rooms, btw.
  3. cableczar's party was a good one and well-attended. cableczar, did you make it home okay?

  6. Last call coming up soon

  7. That's good to know. Thanks!
  8. I'll look into it when I get time.

  10. In their heyday, they had the best Filipino band in the city. 4 Male musicians, and a female lead singer who was HOT. She went to work in Tokyo, leaving the guys stuck with a repertoire of classic rock. On occasion, they did have various female singers, but they weren't that good. Over the last year, the band started fragmenting, with some of the members going elsewhere. I stopped going in there, because it lost that atmosphere they had a few years ago. When it was good, it was very good. As to the Soi 4/5 flattened comment, see Mirkwood's picture. The bars between Soi 5 and Soi 4 were demolished, including U-TOO Bar and many others in that complex.
  11. That's a damned shame about Honeypot. It was a unique style club for Pattaya.
  12. GOGO Crawl tonight!

We had a decent sized group show up. The gogos on the crawl were Sapphire, Mistys, LD1, Dollhouse, LD2.

A few went to the new Rhino Agogo, and a few more went to Roxy.

  13. Thank god you said that.I was afraid it was Brit humor and I wasn't getting it. Maybe it is...
  14. Weds Gogo 2 for 1 crawl set up at great expense to my liver. I hope a lot of you show up. Frankly, if there is not a good turnout, I'm pulling the plug on it.

I intend to keep going on my own, but without a fixed route.

  15. Tiger Agogo (right side of Soi Diamond upstairs) is closed for reconstruction. So, the entire right front, downstairs and upstairs, of Soi Diamond is going to be redone.
  16. So, out of the 21 day period from June 25 to July 16, 5 non-alcohol days. Thank buddha it's low season.
  17. Pattaya business owners. Relax.
  18. I moved the post, so that's taken care of. Regarding closures, as usual, it's up in the air, but as shown in the ANNOUNCEMENT at the top of each forum, the prevailing understanding is that only Saturdays (June 25, July 2) will be closed for the general election. Then, Pattaya itself has city elections on July 9 and 10, which may require a closure in Pattaya on Saturday, July 9. Then, we have a Asarnha Bucha Day on July 15, which is a definite closure. It's on a Friday. In the space of 20 days or so, 4 weekend days closed. Great for tourism, eh?

  20. Had dinner at a Moo Kataa place on Pattaya Tai, and beers were served. Driving around town, the only entertainment places I saw that had lights on were Gulliver's Pattaya North, and ... Boyztown! Everything else was very dark and looked closed, even the Wonderful Bars. The Coconut Bar looked quite busy.
  21. Wow. Ibar till 5am, JP Bar till 6am. We gave it the old college try.

It was a good night Martin. The tequila shots finished the job for me! Had great difficulty sitting on the back of the motorbike. My sexcretary was not amused!

  22. It's all so pointless really, if the courts and the military end up overturning the election, as they have been doing.
  23. Last night to go out drinking till Sunday!

  24. I think that bar owner is right, but only time will tell (Sunday night). The police letter was very specific about being closed from 6pm Saturday until midnight Sunday, but the word on the ground is that Sunday night bars can open after 6pm. Who to believe?
