Tequila Reef on soi 7 always works for me. You can order deliveries via Door2Door too. Chicken taquitos followed by an east L.A. burrito with roast pork. Lovely.

I see nui is there again, I thought she left a while back? -
You can get relatively good speeds with EDGE through one2call and use it anywhere in Pattaya. Cost is around 1k THB a month for unlimited data access and speeds are around 130 kb/s.

Dynasty Inn Grande Soi 6 BKK
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez replied to PlanetWave's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I stayed there over xmas and again in January for a bit. I thought it was excellent value for money, especially the generous size of the rooms. I didn't have any problems bringing multiple guests back during either stay and the staff were really friendly, I took 3 girls back one night and they didn't bat an eyelid but maybe they've changed the rules since I was there. Can't remember the exact rate I paid but it was around 2k a night and I booked it over the phone. -

One of them is smooth move lackey I'm predicting an early knock-out for this one -
I tried that place as a few people had posted good things about it but personally I thought the food was disgusting - I threw it in the bin after a couple of bites. The pies in Simons fish and chips in Jomtien however are very nice.

Welsh hospital heartlessly kills Englishman
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez replied to joekicker's topic in Expat Issues
Welsh hospital heartlessly kills Welshman perhaps......unless they've moved Barry and South Glamorgan since I last checked. -
I recently did a 10 month stay and had no problem getting a non-imm 'O' from Hull. I was also born in '73

I was out there for 10 months up to April this year and averaged around 140k a month - I could have done it on a hell of a lot less but I was having too much fun to slow down and treated the whole thing in the same way as if I was just on a 2 week holiday.

I definitely recommend the pies in Simon's. Used to go in at least once a week for the chicken and mushroom pie, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. Lovely. They've also got a full Thai menu if you're taking your tilac de jour.

I miss the photos
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez replied to wrassell's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Apologies to wrassell for any kind of thread hijack but I notice I seem to have lost the ability to PM other members and when I tried to start a thread to enquire about this in the appropriate section it would seem that I've lost that right as well. As I seem to be able to reply at least in this thread I just wondered if there was any particular reason for this? MM, Pete, any ideas? -

Nice pics mate. It's somewhere I keep meaning to visit but have never seemed to have the time. Fortunately time is something I'll have in abundance very soon -

Great deal on the Landmark
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez posted a topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Just been checking out hotels for my next trip in Feb and came across an offer First Asia Hotels are doing. Its only open to UK and Ireland residents for some reason but they're doing a 'stay 4 nights only pay 3' promotion for the Landmark BKK which means the standard rooms there work out as only 2,620 THB a night based on a 4 night stay. Hotel near Soi Cowboy Bangkok
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez replied to marcortez's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
It depends on your budget but in that area I like the Westin. If you don't want to blow too much money on accomodation though check out the Swiss Grottino just behind the Westin or the Town Lodge on Soi 18. -
Best value hotels in Bangkok
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez replied to torrenova's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
It doesn't have a pool but the Town Lodge at the end of soi 18 is pretty good value. Standard rooms 1200, deluxe rooms 1400 and jacuzzi suites 2800 all including ABF (although I can't comment on that as I'm a lazy bastard and never get up in time for breakfast). I stayed in the deluxe room and would say its about the same size as the deluxe in the Majestic Suites but is fitted to a much higher standard. The place is pretty new, all rooms have DVD players and cable tv, in-room safes and the staff are really friendly. It's right at the end of soi 18 though so depends how far out of the way -
President Park, Davis or Sofitel ?
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez replied to OJ's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Can't comment on the hotels you mention as I haven't stayed in any of them (although a friend of mine was less than complimentary about the Davis after a recent stay). I can recommend the President Solitaire though. My favourite of all the places I've stayed in BKK and the Premiere suite is only a little more than the price you quote for the Sofitel (3,199 ++ direct from the hotel website). That gets you a 50sqm room with a 42" plasma tv, dvd player and broadband wifi. I think its only rated as 4* but I much prefer it to the JW Marriott or the Westin. -

I'll second Lemons recommendation, stayed at the lima coco back in June, nice place, very quiet. The busiest day there I counted 6 other people on the beach apart from me and the tilac. A very relaxing place to unwind after Pattaya, especially taking a canoe out and paddling out to sea to watch the sunset. Also stayed at the Malibu Garden Resort on Vongduern beach in March, a bit more going on in that area but the Malibu Garden itself was a bit of a dump.
