  1. Correct, so I guess it's a cheaper beer than Chang.
  2. Just be careful, it's very easy to arrange that a farang is deported from Thailand. I know a danish guy who was conned by his TGF for 10,000,000 baht. She asked her ex-husband who was a police captain or major and next time he returned to Thailand he was stopped and told he could never enter Thailand again. It doesn't matter where the important person lives, he/she will know who to contact to arrange it.
  3. I don't really see how the tourist police can help in this situation. It's more a question of connections, if you know somebody really important ask him/her to contact the local police boss.
  4. No, but dont forget the Hotel reviews
  5. Wait, it can take 1 or 2 days!
  6. I've seen for more than one year old TVs from a hotel for sale in the shopping arcade near the Dolphin, the corner 2nd Rd and North Pattaya Rd, enter beside Kiss and walk towards south inside the building around 50 meters.
  7. Actually opposite a member couldn't find the the property threads in this forum so I helped by lifting up with a new post in each thread.
  8. kolobos, I know that but authorities have signalled that they in future want proof that money is there all the time. For most not a problem I think but some of the old guys retiring here more than 5-10 years ago can have serious problems if this new rule is enforced.
  9. ting_tong, how big is your apartment? Just use aircon in the nights and fans rest of the time?
  10. You must live like a thai to manage it on 20,000 electricity 1,500 baht water 500 baht internet 1,000 baht food 3,000 baht mobile 500 baht gives you 13,500 baht for GF and nightlife.
  11. If you own a condo or a house I think it's possible to live on 20,000 even in Pattaya. Else I have met some guys staying in rural areas living on even less than 20,000 and they have very low pensions and moved here years ago. Still you must remember the rules for the NON-IMMIGRANT VISA "O-A" (LONG STAY) - visa for retired persons A copy of bank statement showing a deposit at the amount equal to not less than 800,000 Baht or an income certificate (an original copy) with a monthly income of not less than 65,000 Baht, or a deposit account plus a monthy income totalling not less than 800,000 Baht. Source So they can expect big problems renewing their visas.
  12. I've posted in those threads so they're easy to find here on the first page, also the thread about Thai divorce is about property.

    Thai Divorce

    Yet another property thread.
  14. Yet another one.
  15. Another thread.
  16. One thread about property!
  17. Guys, I remind you again - there are other thread discussing this question. What you can't own is the land (except if you invest 40 million baht you can own 1 rai), but you can own the house without a company!
  18. The 30 year option to renew the lease contract is not legal binding, but as one lawyer said, it needs a change in the law during the first 30 year period to become legal.
  19. Yes of course, it's the monsoon period now.
  20. This has been discussed in several threads in this forum. It's not a change of the law, all land offices had not applied the law in the same way before.
  21. Actually there're signs in bahtbuses showing how much you must pay.
  22. I never went to Jomtien with a bahtbus but I think it's double price.
  23. MTC = Multiple Travel Club, which is some sort of time-sharing club selling and renting out apartments. I think I've seen this resort on the road from Pattaya to Jomtien, so probably easy to take a bahtbus to both places. Not exactly a hotel, more like View Talay I think.
  24. I thought you were real.........
  25. Ugh Big C, try to master magic box better and remember your almanac, also give big white chief (MM) correct info next time.
