  1. Foreigners can take out loans and even have credit cards but there are many hoops to jump through. What she might have done was to take out the loan on her husbands name while she pays back the debt. Does anyone have this for download?
  2. Why not try and do an extension first. End of December is when the first people on their "3 stamps" will be shown the door. The borders will be very busy as they will be going through the passports page by page again.
  3. You are going to be bored to tears. I use to work for a company just outside of Lopburi 2 years ago. The town is typically Thai rural where everyone is in bed at 9. Some resturants on the river but that is about it. If you think Lopburi is boring, Singburi will beat it hands down.
  4. What is the costs of living like in PI compared to Thailand. Is Cambodia an option?
  5. Sounds like Africa! Suspend the constitution and enforce military rule. I've heard that before, just this time the town aint burning.
  6. The night life is not very big however most of the pickup areas would be near the river where most of the clubs are.
  7. You might try this one which I have used for the last 3 years. http://www.songtoday.com/
  8. I would think that Raimon Land would release their apartments in the latter part of the year. You normally get better prices closer to silly season. That being said, they have more projects in the pipe for Pattaya.
  9. The other half will exploit the loophole in the property law and register it in the name of a Thai company. But then again they are closing that loophole so it should be interesting.
  10. You can live on 20K per month. By "LIVE" I mean, you can pay your visa, apartment and eat for a month. Anything more than that would be out of budget. If you dont drink and you dont need a bar fine, you should be able to manage it.
  11. I had this debate with a well known falang property broker in Bangkok 3 years ago. The exact thing that the Thai's are now implementing is what I asked him about. In some point in time it WILL bring up the issue of tax avoidance I told him. His words were, TIT they will never do it. Go figure! This would in time hold out for normal businesses too not just the property market. Mr Somchai is the major shareholder in your noodle shop, yet Mr Somchai pays no income tax on his profits, income or dividends. They are starting to tighten many things in Thailand. Tourist visas got tighten
  12. Browse around on Google. I know there is an e-lance type site for Thai programmers as I used it 2 years ago to complete a project. They spoke reasonable English. It was a bidding type of site just as e-lance.
  13. Rhoel, That 30 Baht scheme is for Thai nationals only I think.
  14. Taking the risk and going to another agent might present a problem as at the time of payment they might go an check-up to see if you had been anywhere else in Thailand for coverage. Then they screw you.
  15. It makes little difference if you have a work permit. There will always be somehting that needs to be paid.
  16. I thought it was Mai Pen Rai?
  17. Better one yet. Fantasy Football
  18. Maybe they had problems with Bar Owners before. Is this in the same line as the No Arabs allowed thread? I thought that was settled at each bar gets to make its own rules?
  19. But, I am told the Travel Insurance does not settle the hospital. You have to pay first, they pay you later?
