Carrier IQ - What do you think?
mykl replied to wacmedia's topic in Technical problems or questions.
The browser I am using right now, this very minute (FF) does not send the passwords I use to log into every site I visit to a third party in clear unencrypted text. You do know that, right? The browser I am using right this very minute does not triangulate my location using cell towers (it can't, it's not being used on a cell phone and I'm not using Wifi) and transmit that location to a third party in clear unencrypted text. You do know that, right? It doesn't even transmit my location anywhere, as such. From my ipaddress, which is transmitted, my general location can be determined due to the -

I think that if the phone then transmits that data to another location without my consent, and with no way to prevent it, there might be a security issue. What do you think? -
Fucking unions.

If you use firefox, the first time you log in to a site, and any time you change your password, firefox will ask if you want it to remember the username/password. After that you will see your username filled in and your password filled but with asterisks hiding the characters. This is independent of cookies. The data is kept in a file which can itself be password protected. I'm pretty sure Opera and chrome do this also

Top quality Condo on Pratumnak Hill for Sale at The Royal Ciff Condo
mykl replied to smartbroker's topic in The Market
The people who can afford places like that always ask the price. That's one of the reasons they can afford places like that. -
If you don't want to know the answer then why did you ask the question. Yes, I spotted the cats. Both of them.

Don't know about where you are but they are illegal in the US.

They allow 20 Kilo's which is 44 pounds total checked luggage with no charge. This is stated plainly on the eticket. Can't comment on your other issues but I have flown them many times out of Inchon Korea with no complaints or problems. I have also flown Asiana with no problems but they don't have the flight times that I want and Thai Air does.

Except the wife. I doubt she saw the humor in it.

I haven't stayed there since they upgraded the place but the location is excellent. Morning/Night and Golden Bar, two prime people watching spots, are within a 30 second stroll and the Nana parking lot is right next to the Golden. The Nana's Lobby bar is a nice place to set and have a beer and watch old movies on a bit flat screen. Majestic Suites, right around the corner on Suk is nice also.

My last trip was two weeks ago. Flight arrived at 1330. There were six or seven people ahead of me at passport control, ie immigration. Baggage took another ten minutes. Customs was a non event, walked through. Into the arrival area approximately 20 minutes after the door opened and we exited the plane. The driver was there with my name on a sign. Thirty minutes after the door opened, about 45 minutes after touchdown, I was on the road to Pattaya. That being said I have had trips where passport took an hour and bags still had not started coming out when I got there. It's a crap shoot.

I'll check it out in September. Meanwhile is Annie Thai? You mentioned a while back that you were thinking of going with a Thai singer to avoid work permit hassles. Any pictures for those of us not fortunate enough to be there in person? -
Getting to the view new posts search page is no problem. Easy peasy. Now go back and try fro comprehension instead of speed. If you click on a thread you will go to the last post in that thread. Even if you have never clicked on that thread in the past. If the thread has ten, twenty, thirty ... whatever pages, you will go to the last post on the last page of the thread. Even if you click in the 1 in the page count you will still go to the last post on the last page. All sarcasm aside, if you know of a setting in preferences that will cure this I'd love to hear it. So far I have not found it, a

It will also, at random, take you to the last post in the thread. Even if it's the first time you have looked at the thread, it's a ten page thread and you click on the 1 in the page count. You will still go to the last post in the thread on page 10. Just like PIatNight & PISecrets. The problem I also have with PIatNight is if I look at the forum on one computer and several days later log in from a different computer, it will tell me there is no "new content". In my opinion, and yes it's just an opinion, the new software sucks donkey balls. Since every forum I follow is switching to it I'l

Does Living Abroad Make You Feel More Patriotic.,
mykl replied to MCCREADY8's topic in Idle Chit Chat
If you are asking if I will defend my country against all comers, and I once took an oath to do just that, then yes, I firmly believe in "my country right or wrong". If you are asking if I think we are perfect then no, I don't. Lots of room for improvement. -

Baen cd This site has all the cd's that have been included with the hard cover editions. You can download them as .iso images or .zip files. There is a lot of duplication on the cd's but between them they have a hundred or so books by their top authors.
-
They also have a program where you can purchase advance e-copies of books before they are on the shelves. Typically US $12 - $15 for a book that will cost around US $25 in hard cover. They also include a cd with e-copies of several dozen books with the hard back edition of several of their best authors books. David Weber is one of only two authors that I will purchase the hard cover when it first comes out rather than wait for the paperback. Johnathan Kellerman is the other. Also, just as a heads up, in case you aren't familiar with Baen they publish science fiction.
