OK Pie - I'll count you in. I agree that the Wednesday should be a day off. With the track record I have drinking with you, we will still be in a bar somewhere when the rest of humanity is teeing off. I would suggest the following: Sunday - afternoon round at Khao Kheow. An alternative is Eastern Star with a return via Bang Chang. I have heard of a few bars there where the women have flat heads to rest your beer on! Monday - Phoenix Tuesday - Sports Day at Laem Chabang Thursday - Siracha (subject to the work on the course being completed) Let me know if this is OK.

Hilly Good to hear that you will be back in Pattaya on 18th September. A practice round during the week is a great idea. I think I know a caddy at Phoenix who has got a cellphone. Now, what was that number again? I'll call you sometime on 18th or 19th to fix things up. Cheers Doggie

Roppongi I have you down as a definitely, possibly maybe as requested! Hope you can make it. I will be in Pattaya from 17/9 to 25/9 so I will be up for some golf. I have a mate with me so I will be organising a few rounds. I was planning to book Laem Chabang on either the Tuesday or the Thursday and then Siracha for one of the other days. We will probably play 4 rounds that week with the possibility of doing Khao Kheow on the Sunday afternoon (19/9) as an extra. I guess Pie will be up for some games as well. If you guys are interested, I will put together a programme of 4 or 5 rounds a

Thanks for the entries so far guys. Where are the Norwegians? And where are our USA team regulars? Keep the entries coming. Doggie

Good to hear from you Bob. I trust you are looking forward to the reverse mulligans again! Cheers Doggie

Thai golfing vacation - question
doghaus replied to cmagrad's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
GP2002 That's great news about 2 sports days a week at Laem Chabang. Thanks for the info. Sorry you can't make the RideHer. Doggie -
Hilly Sorry to hear about the expected event. My condolences to you and your family. I will be pleased to save up a wee one for AM. Hub No problem. As long as I know you are playing, just give me the cash on the day. Regarding the price, Ben and I are hoping that we will attract more players this year so the cost of the party and transport per person should be lower. We are also planning to offer one T shirt instead of two and we are leaving the caddy tips up to the players. That's why we are targetting a price of Bht 3,000 or thereabouts. Doggue

Thai golfing vacation - question
doghaus replied to cmagrad's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
Alan You must have the PSC card to get the discount on Sports Day. You need to check the prices for the individual courses for the buggy charges. I think some of them charge per buggy and some per golfer. The Thai Golf Paradise link that Hub has given you is the best one for information about golf in Thailand. cmagrad The best way to enjoy your golf is to hook up with the groups that Hub has mentioned. Both the Haven and Lewinskiis are better suited for the serious golfer. You will be welcome in either group if you play off 24 or less. If you want a less competitive golf day, I wo -
The 2004 RideHer Cup will take place in Pattaya on 7th and 8th November 2004 For those of you who are not familiar with this world-famous golf match, here is a brief explanation. The RideHer Cup is a team event played between the USA and Europe at one of the golf courses in the Pattaya area. This will be the third year that the event has taken place and the score is currently 1 match apiece. The event is open to any board member that can swing a golf club plus Ben. Players who want to represent the USA must come from the USA but Eirope can be represented by players from anywhere in the wor

Thanks Hilly - I knew my secret would be safe with you .... I can confirm that cute caddies can be persuaded to meet you in the car park after you have finished your round - it would be foolish to deny this now that Hilly has spilled the beans. Generally, a small token of appreciation like a new cellphone and some new garments is much appreciated by the young lady if she has no previous experience of accompanying golfers off premises. This can be considered an investment to secure the future services of an excellent caddy who will assist with club selection and lining up your putts.

Deuce Great post! What an exciting last round and Hamilton deserved the victory for keeping his cool under pressure! I guess the guy who backed Ernie to win £1 million for a bet of £64,000 was sitting on the toilet for most of the final round - hope it wasn't you Pieman. I recognised that shot out of a gorse bush that Ernie had at the 10th or 11th -SteveO has put me in some similar lies in the RideHer Cup foursomes! I had a decent run for my money with my modest each way investment on Monsieur Levet at 100/1. And if Verplank hadn't screwed up on the 17th I would have had a p

Nice one Steve O! Good to see the RideHer Cup section is starting to waken up. I will start posting details about the 2004 Cup in early August. Doggie

Wombat From what I remember of the last round we played together, we only managed to complete 15 holes! Hope to see you in November! Doggie

You are joking with me Thumper. 36f too cold to play golf? That would be a warm summer's day in Scotland and we invented the game! You need to get back to playing in Thailand pretty quick! I will be travelling there on October 28th for 3 weeks so we will have plenty of chances to play some golf. When are you headed back to Thailand? And we will be happy to take your PSC handicap for the RideHer Cup as long as I can use mine! All the best. Doggie
-
Hi Thumper I played a few of the courses during the last 2 weeks and they all seemed in good condition. I only got rained off once but unfortunately that was at Springfield after 8 holes. I look forward to meeting up with you at RideHer Cup time. Enjoy your golf and remember your umbrella. Doggie

Thumper and Pie Great to see you are both playing again this year. We are getting worried about the amount of golf you have been playing Thumper. And I will need to get some serious practice going if I have to stand toe to toe at the bar with Pie again! Hub I am sure we can work it out that you join us at the course. We will sort this out nearer the time. Please send me a PM with your email address so I can put you on the distribution list. Cheers Doggie

Nice to see the entries rolling in from the European team. The USA must be too busy practising to reply! Hilly, we will need those birdies from you. It was embarassing enough for me to shoot a 7 at that par 3. And you'll never guess what plane I took home the next day - a 777! I look forward to hearing from you all with your entries for this year. Doggie

Who's gonna win the Masters?
doghaus replied to Dungheap's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
Great to see Phil do it at last. I really thought he was going to blow it by playing too conservative but he went for it on the back nine. These 2 holes in one by Harrington and Triplett were amazing. I made a small profit after all my bets - only about £20 so just about enough for a bar fine and a short time when I am back in town! I'll be pleased to join the winning tipsters for a beer around the time of the RideHer Cup. Cheers Doggie -

Roppongi I had a modest each way investment on Cejka at 125/1 the day before the tournament started. He is now showing at 16/1 at the start of day 3 play. Nice to see him in a challenging position but a lot can happen over the next 2 days. If he wins, the proceeds will be enough to finance a trip to Pattaya! However, I suspect he will choke so I will be happy with 1/4 the odds if he gets a top 4 finish. I also took a win bet on Mikelson at 8/1 and he is still looking a strong contender. I think there is more of a chance of a payout on him than Cejka. Hope it is a good last 2 days. -

I agree that Mickleson is looking in good form going into the Masters - maybe it is his year. My each way bet is going on Cejka for a top 4 finish. Steady player and a good putter. Should be a good price. My bets are going on: 1. Mickleson 2. Harrington 3. Cejka 4. Price Doggie -
It seems that Eva's policy is strictly applied if the flight is full and/or they are fully laden with freight. I got hit for excess baggage charges in June last year when I was carrying 26Kg baggage plus my golf clubs. Unlike some other airlines, they only carry golf clubs as part of your 20Kg allowance in economy. So, I got hit for the weight of the clubs plus my 6Kg overweight. Doggie

I talked things through with Ben and we think that the best time to hold the event is in the first week of November. The courses start to get busy in November so the earlier the better. Monday 1st November looks a good date so Ben is working on that right now. We are considering Eastern Star as this year's venue. It is a better course than Khao Kneow and we expect to get better service from them. Whilst the golf at Khao Kheow was fine, they couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery when it comes to the catering! Those of you that want to stick around for Loy Katoey could plan to arriv

The consensus so far seems to be in favour of late November. We still have to hear from the 2 captains from 2003 and a lot of last year's players. I will discuss the feasibility of late November with Ben when he gets back from PI. Thanks for the warning Pie - I will also glue my zipper up if Monkey Girl is within range! Doggie
-
All nationalities are welcome - even Canadians! Does it defrost sufficiently there to allow you guys to golf for a few weeks a year? Just kidding - if you are 24 handicap or under you can play for Europe - 25 and above for the USA! Hope you can join us. Doggie

I have seen the start of a thread about the 2004 RideHer Cup in the members bar. I suggest that we continue the subject here. After all, Pete gave us this rather exclusive section to keep us clear of all the whoring drunks that use the rest of this board! As Hilly has pointed out already, I am conducting an advance scouting mission on behalf of all the RideHer players this week. I will be discussing the event with Ben and I will ask him to investigate the dates and prices that might be available. It would be useful to get your feedback here on date preferences. After all, the tournament is
