Ahhh, negative equity. In the late 80's and early 90's when interest rates hit 17% at one point, my house was worth less than the mortgage owed, in fact considerably less, it only reached a state of equilibrium in 1997!.

Hi, My PC speakers have an earphone jack which I use all the time (as does my PC). The problem is that it is low volume all the time. I've tried everything on the web regarding the adjusting the properties, source and volume etc from the Control Panel but it's still shit. Years ago i had a set of Creative speakers which had a separate volume control, this would increase the volume beyond the "max" volume of the PC so I could actually hear stuff properly. Anyone have any suggestions of a set or make of speakers which have a volume control which actually works for the headphones as well and

ZITHROMAX (azithromycin) question
Butch replied to Firepole's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
A few AB resistant type strains of STDs kicking about for a while now. I have found that there are a good few pharma's in Pattaya who will tell you what you need if you ask them. They see Strep throat, Chlamydia (despite being asymptomatic in women up to a point), clap, eye infections and ear infections regularly so one would hope that they know what works, but TIT of course :) Totally agree , self diagnosis is daft if you have no idea what you have and put your symptoms into Dr Google and he then spits out that you have terminal brain cancer. Doctors aren't cheap in Pattaya but as we -
I'll start. Best: Flying on the Sultan of Omans Boeing 747SP numerous times in total luxury. All you could want, and a novel concept within the field of Airline service..."bring your own booze and we'll provide the ice and mixers, as long as you share". One of the best moments was making a landing at Masirah Island for a drop off, the RFO pilot doing a bit of "showing off" and coming in fast followed by taking off within the shortest possible distance at full throttle. worst: Turning down an offer of business class 2 way upgrade on SAA plus a night in a hotel with a meal voucher for

I read today that the Airlines have contigency plans concerning a deal, no deal, wild west style shootout or a simple Jeux Sans Frontiers. I would imagine that it would be very very high on the list of "not fucking things up due to those greedy cunts in Europe" because of the amount of revenue involved. In fact, we could pull their pants down on that one...

ZITHROMAX (azithromycin) question
Butch replied to Firepole's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
Soi Bukhao, either opposite Oasis or on the left just before you get to Soi Lengkhee there are 2 pharmacies. They sell genuine and generic over the counter Antibiotics. I'd pay more for the genuine if I were you, it is almost double the cost however. They also sell Xanax otc as well, should you wish. -
There is absolutely no way at all they would ground all or most UK flights. Back when we had the Volcanic Ash cloud issue (which left me stranded in the RP for 3 weeks) the UK was virtually brought to its knees within a matter of a couple of days, the Govt shat themselves as did many of the Airlines, a lesson was learnt not to let it happen again. The economic fallout would be horrific, there is no way the EU Airlines operating in and out of the UK, or the UK airlines would allow this to happen, as for International flights outside of the EU, it would have zero effect anyway. The lobbying

Hi Gary , Philippine Airlines have upped their game, they are now actually pretty good and they fly direct MNL-LHR into the UK. Decent service and a decent fleet of Aircraft. They used to be abysmal, one of the worst (possibly the worst) in SEA but in recent years they've improved. Booking direct with them is still slightly more expensive than dealing with a TA or online TA however.

Easy R Con Sports Bars
Butch replied to Footymadstreams's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Spent a few afternoons in the R Con Corner, very relaxed and good atmosphere , good service and bloody good Thai food (never tried the English food though). It's a good place to people watch, some really interesting stuff goes on around that bend. The only drawback is that I was recognised by a couple of ladies who came past either on their Motorbikes or the back of a baht bus, so then I ended up buying 4 beers instead of 2 lol!. Do you show the Formula 1 and WRC at all?.- 8 replies

If the £ drops below 40 Baht, will you still come?
Butch replied to Irish boy's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
If you're going to Turkey and heading either into or out of Dalaman, make sure you eat or get food before getting to the airport, it cost me over £30 for 3 Mcdonalds meals. Scamming cunts. I'm kind of debating whether to knock Thailand , or Pattaya itself on the head entirely these days. Not least having been hit for a £13k repair bill on my Hakosuka GTR, but it simply does not offer the value for what I can get anymore. I don't monger as such, but I do like to eat at good restaurants, my last bill at Grottino's came in at £200 for 3 of us (inc some really good wine). Eating out used t -
I've been watching a few vlogers on youtube, it seems that there are a couple of new rules or laws which are either innovative ways of making some tea money. One is a 3k baht fine for riding on the rear step of a baht bus, which strikes me as pretty daft but apparently there have been some fines handed out, and the latest one is a mandatory 5k baht fine for not having an international (or Thai) license on a motorbike (and one would assume a car as well). There certainly seems to be some truth in the matter, but standing on the rear step is just a daft reason to hand out a fine. Doubt if th

Always an enjoyable evening at Le Pub. Is Ilene still doing the food there?. It's a great place for a feed, some drinks and a few games of pool.

We switched carriers on our last trip to Manila, basically the rules were that despite BA having a hand carry policy different to everyone else, we would still have to observe Cathays policy on it as they were the final carrier to destination ex HKG. Reading the small print, the same “apparently” applied with regards to the outgoing carrier when it came to checked bags, so if BA offered 40kg and Cathay 25, we might have to pay excess. Never had it happen though, but I guess they need to cover themselves. I might be wrong though , as that is purely my take on it, probably best to ask the a

An Interesting thread..................
Butch replied to firth1974's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
There are no advantages to be gained. Any board which gives that plastic cockney wannabe hard man gobby cunt Parkwahn a voice is best avoided IMO. This forum is very well moderated, it is fair and balanced. I expect a majority of the guys who share memberships both here and there will have their own preferences, but perhaps they enjoy the choice to post on different forums with different attitudes and perspectives. -
Trip advisor reviews seem to be so-so, but largely on the value for money side. Not stayed there myself. If traffic noise is an issue, I can send you a load of earplugs in the post if you want, just drop me a PM. They work really well and are comfy enough to wear overnight in bed. I swear by them, especially in Manila if I need a snooze in the afternoon. The bar and the food served there is bloody great though. Good, cheap drinks and really spot on Thai food, one of the best along the street for my money.

Often asked and perhaps covered elsewhere, but following on from a reply to BigD from Jacko regarding Expedia, I thought I'd ask and give an account of my experiences. I've done a couple of lists, they do of course overlap each other. These days I prefer to book direct with the Airline. The pro's and con's listed below (feel free to disagree): Direct to Airline: Pro's Instant ticketing. Instant seat selection (optional with some depending upon cabin class or pre payment) Instant and immediate flight status reports Direct comms to the Airline themselves should there be a problem or

Just started watching S04, but after 10 min of the first ep, I went back to the last ep of S03 as a refresher because it's been ages. Didn't hook me, I thought it was rather slow, but I'm saving the next couple of episodes for this bank holiday weekend. It is a fine series however, and Bob Odenkirk is well suited to the role.

Heathrow Sydney non stop ever closer on Qantas
Butch replied to Rawhide2's topic in Airline Discussion
20 hours in Economy. That doesn't seem like such a great idea. Incredible that the tech actually exists (or is at least feasible) to build a large capacity Airliner to go the distance. I do think though (my personal opinion only) that there must be some inherant health risks with travelling for that long in an enclosed area sharing everyone else's farts, BO and airborne (pardon the pun) ailments. That's a great link Rawhide, thanks for sharing.- 1 reply

Yep, Bloke at work has actually changed his 15 day week into a 10 day trip , he reckons that his budget for 15 days should see him through 10. Tough times indeed, and as you said, this will be a delayed impact as trips being cancelled now for the upcoming peak / high season. When it gets to a point that even a draft beer in a GGB is nearly, or in some cases over £2 it makes sense to start getting loaded with 7/11 San Migs in the room before a night out. God forbid doing a round of LD's in Peppermint!. We're getting hit on the PHP as well, down to 67 with Philrem at the moment, I was get

Good info chaps, I tend to roar through data in LOS doing skype etc and watching movies on my phone, but Teelack, do all the plans include the tethering allowance?, as tethering onto my Ipad would be a real help.
