  1. Ran a check for some dates next May and Air France/KLM offering flights at around a similar price to the Etihad prices from MAN to BKK.....
  2. Damn... I always seem to miss Halloween in Pattaya.... will be at Swampy tomorrow night heading back to the UK
  3. Sadly the match has been postponed.... but if it does get re-arranged I'm going to fly out to Thailand for the match....
  4. Due to local elections the match is now being played on the 28th October There is 2 matches being played, the first match being a Chang Mai Select team against an Issan Select team. I've been invited to the after match function (piss-up) And ex-NRL star Jarrod Sammut will be playing for Malta
  5. Check out https://www.thailandvapers.com/#thailand-vapers.1
  6. I believe the commercial importation of e-cigs is banned, but for personal use is allowed.. On my last 3 trips I've had no problem taking them in and out.
  7. Seen many people openly using e-cigs in Pattaya, and even hawkers selling them.
  8. Manchester or down south??? No thanks I'll stick with where I live up in Cumbria... I've been to Heathrow airport twice, but never flown from there.... And I certainly wouldn't choose to fly from there...
  9. Haven't fared to badly..... It helps that the Mrs is always with me so I get to go through them Thai side.... never had more that a 10 minute queue
  10. Damn.... shame I booked with Qatar, I'll be missing out on that when I fly 17th October!!!
  11. If you think 105 minutes is bad, my last trip after I caught a bus down to Pattaya from Ekemai Bus station in Bangkok and it took 150 minutes..Drove slow but the worst bit was as we were nearing Pattaya he pulled into an LPG station and then kicked us all off while he filled up with gas.
  12. Thailand have announced a 32 man squad ahead of the game although it will be reduced to a squad of 20 in October.... Looks like there's a few Thais playing in the lower leagues in Australia so Thailand might be able to put together a competitive team... Therapol Ritson has picked up a couple of Man of the Match awards this season playing for Kingstone Championship team Workington Town and Superleague clubs are keeping an eye on him.
  13. All the Brexiteers claimed it would it would be a short term dip and it would recover..... well, at the moment there doesn't seem to be any sign of recovery.
  14. Decent price, just a shame they only fly into Heathrow...... Would be great if they took the plunge and started flights to Manchester....
  15. For me it's a 70 mile round trip to get one, but it's worth it as I do quite a lot of driving in Thailand...
  16. For what an IDP costs I would hardly class it as a rip-off.
  17. I always have an IDP with me when I'm in Thailand, even though I've never been asked to show it....
  18. Option 3 with a pissed up lady can be seriously dangerous!!!
  19. No doubt there'll be a Buddha on the dashboard, an amulet and garlands hanging from above and the monks will have daubed a Buddhist yantra on the overhead panel...
  20. routesonline.com piece on the MAN A380 news http://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/268319/emirates-moves-manchester-to-all-a380-service-from-jan-2017/ Will be interesting to see if a 4th daily happens... My preferred departure time from Manchester is the morning flights, which leads to an early morning arrival in Bangkok, so EK21 changing to A380 means The Fiend is a happy chappy!!!
  21. Hmmmm Emirates A380 or Qatar A350... tasty!!!
  22. Emirates have today announced that all the Manchester flights will be A380 from1st January 2017. http://www.thenational.ae/business/aviation/third-a380-to-manchester-sees-emirates-aving-it-large Some said it would never happen, that they would keep one 773ER on the route for cargo capacity.... Looks like they were wrong!!! Emirates have proved how good the A380 is for regional markets, Manchester being the perfect illustration. MAN will have the same number of A380 flights as LGW Looks like Qatar and Etihad will have to up their game to compete with Emirates at Manchester.
