Today Mrs Fiend tackled her first Corned Beef stew, with a little help from me, and her first attempt wa actually quite good!!! :thumbup Her Tattie Pots are getting better all the time, but her Shepherds Pies still have room for improvement....

I hope you mean cooked as separate dishes, not combined together!!!

I love a bit of Wensleydale or Caerphilly and a dollop of Branston Pickle...... As for Spam...... Have been known to eat it..... but not very often!!!

Brexit will affect UK travellers going into Europe... Europe will want border control with us, Brits will have to start queuing alongside the Non-EU travellers to go through immigration
-
Boeing predicted the future would be point to point but the international airlines at the moment seem happier flying spoke to hub and hub to hub.....

My balls do glow in the dark!!!

I've always been an English Electric fanboy, just love the sound of Class 20's, 37's 40's, 50's and the Deltics.... travelled the UK being hauled by them. I was one of those idiots you'd see with my head stuck out the window right behind the loco!!! Donated a few hundred quid towards helping preserve 2 Class 40's one of which has returned to running on the national network again..... Direct Rail Services (which is actually a government owned company, through the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority) are used to transport stuff to and from my place of work and have done since 1994, so most day

Yesterday I enjoyed a ride behind a 52 year old Class 37 diesel on a service train.... ..... Love the sound of that V12 engine!!!! Visiting Thailand has kind of rekindled my enthusiasm in railways after seeing some old diesels still in use in Thailand.

The nerd part of me uses it to find out the registration of the plane I'll be flying on prior to getting to the airport........ Yes, I keep a log of which aircraft I have flown on... I guess it follows on from my train-spotting days!!!

The 80's was a long time ago.... things have changed. Manchester now has direct flights to Singapore, Hong Kong as well as China. There are a large number of Thai's living in the north of England and Scotland. Thailand is now a very popular destination for people travelling from Manchester Airport. A 7 days a week service probably wouldn't work but perhaps 3 or 4 times a week service using a Boeing 787 or Airbus A350 could be viable.

HKG and SIN now have direct fliights from MAN, so I think will only be a matter of time before BKK non-stop gets added.....
-
There's a few BM's that fly from Manchester so it would be a good idea!!!! Cheers Goldpanner....
-
Ex-LHR no good for me..... means catching a shuttle flight down and Mrs Fiend wasn't too impressed on our recent return flight via LHR..... told me never to book via LHR again!!!!
-
Sadly Thugdada won't be able to answer.... he chose to ignore being told not to bump this thread again so is now wearing a gimp mask.....

It's not just limited to Pattaya..... there;s a couple of restaurants that were near my house up north that only had short life spans, despite doing great food and always being busy.... Luckily new ones have opened, so I've still got plenty of options!!!

The routing we got for this trip was MAN-DOH-BKK and return BKK-DOH-LHR-MAN at a cost of £339 each. The price was too good to turn down and also meant we are not stuck in DOH waiting longer for flight to MAN. Also we get 2 Qatar A380s on way back rather than suffer being cramped on a 777 to DOH then a Nightmareliner to MAN. The LHR-MAN is a QR codeshare on a BA flight... :(
-
Hope things are getting back to normal by Thursday, I've got a BA flight from LHR up to MAN on my return to the UK.....
-
Don't worry.... we all have them... it's a sign of getting old!!!

Pattaya/Chonburi to gain many new ex-pats.
TheFiend replied to Shaun's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I've been to Nanning and had no problem getting a shag there..... -
So your friends dates have changed and your still trying to sell it.... I'd dump him as a mate if he couldn't change to dates that were convenient to you..... Doesn't look like anybody is interested.... and if you bump this topic one more time you will get banned OK....

For us BKK is best option for us as we fly up to Sukhothai.... As for immigration, always get through there pretty quickly using the Thai passport desks....

I'll stick to flying into and out of Bangkok

Apparently Qatar have just announced that they will be adding flights to U-Tapao International Airport, Pattaya.... I expect further details will emerge in due course.
