  1. Emirates comes up cheapest for me for my next planned trip....... plus I have the choice of flying from Manchester, Newcastle or Glasgow... By the time you add on the cost of me getting to London it works out just as cheap to fly from the north!!!
  2. The fact that passengers have lost their lives as a result of P&W catastrophic engine failures is completely irrelevant as far as BigD is concerned - all he cares about is the fact that a RR Trent suffered a failure and could have killed all the passengers and crew.... The fact that the A380 landed safely without a single fatality is completely irrelevant to him!!!
  3. FFS How many times does it have to be said that RR aren't the only engines that have suffered catastrophic failure? The truth is nobody died and the plane landed safely..... One of the recent TAAG 777 engine failures resulted in several puncture holes of the fuselage.... funny how you don't mention that one!!!!
  4. You seem to forget about the American fuck-up that is the 7LATE7!
  5. It is more than just job creation..... it is about Europe working together....
  6. Scallywally's predictions are nearly as good as BigD's..... 34 months later Boeing still haven't delivered a 7LATE7...
  7. Do you hear EU citizens complaining about our taxes being invested a European company that supports employment in many European states, as well as elsewhere in the world? I don't!!!! Airbus is proof that the EU can work together. But, you do hear complaints about European banks that were stupid enough to invest in the USA which are now being bailed out by the EU Taxpayers... Funny how I don't hear you complaining about that!!!
  8. Looks like you didn't bother to read the whole press release, only the first sentence!!!
  9. Apart from Airbus and Indigo nobody knows what is in the actual agreement, but if Airbus has gone as far as naming Indigo as the launch customer for the 320NEO then they must be confident the deal is signed, sealed and delivered.
  10. Good old Scallywally..... being pedantic as ever!!!!
  11. Wow.... amazing....... A 7LATE7 performs take off and landings....... Is that something that no other airplane manages??? Next you'll be telling us somebody successfully used a toilet in a 7LATE7
  12. Considering the A330 Programme wasn't launched until 1987 and 1st delivery made in 1993, the A330 will easily beat the 767 for deliveries.
  13. Now that is one dodgy looking haircut!!!! Remind me never to go to the same place..... Mind you, I've now gone 10 years without any scissors near my bonce!!!!
  14. Interesting read - a report on one of the TAAG engine failures..... So, despite TAAG having a poor history with aircraft maintenance, they are now complying with the approved maintenance programme. So GE have admitted similar failures have occurred with another operator.
  15. Winnie would have been top poster in this thread..... but he seems to have gone missing...
  16. Net figures give the true picture of how a business is really doing, not gross figures. If you look at the 7LATE7, looking at the orders for the year there was 37...... now that doesn't look bad....... but when you figure in the cancellations the truth is Boeing are losing orders for it because of the continuing delays...
  17. Because gross orders isn't the real figure... Yes 76 777's were ordered, but 30 were cancelled..... Yes 37 7LATE7's were ordered, but 41 were cancelled....
  18. Another lost order for Boeing Oh dear....... This cancellation is included in the 2010 figures but has only just been reported.
  19. Ahhhhh..... Tangerine Dream....... Love em...... Got a huge collection of their albums, although not so many of their recent albums......
  20. Net sales by Model:- 737 = 486 747 = -1 767 = 3 777 = 46 787 = -4 Take out the 737 orders and the results don't look very good at all. A net total of 44 wide-body orders, which is less than the net orders Airbus received for just the A330... Boeing might be winning in the narrow body market, but currently Airbus have lead in the wide body market.
  21. Airbus gets another A380 order...... Read this!!! Yes, it's only an order for 6 but they are a new customer for the A380, although they haven't chosen the engine supplier yet..... Nice start to the year for Airbus!!!!
  22. Just wanted to see if VicVegas would bite again......... And he did...
  23. Wikileaks reveals dodgy dealings by the US.... No surprises there then!!! Remember when Boeing got caught with cheating with the Tanker contract!!!
